Why? Do you have a colonoscopy?11

If you're having a colonoscopy, your treating doctor should have prescribed something for you.
If you're just looking to induce screaming diarrhea due to some perceived health benefits, just don't.14 -
I hate when my colon is all dirty21

Steel cut oats + prunes + dried figs + pineapple + black coffee
Or, if you are lactose intolerant, a tall glass of milk.
I have no idea why you'd want to do this though.6 -

Ask a doc but I think you're body is designed to do that already.4

Beer. Lots of beer.5

A spoiled chicken burrito from a cheap Mexican restaurant at 2:00 am after a night of drinking is quite effective.13

Picolax is the powder you have to drink before getting a colonoscopy, this will absolutely thoroughly empty you out.
Disclaimer: It is NOT a pleasant experience, and be prepared for this to possibly happen.

Try the "3 "F"' cleanse. Make sure you get enough Fluids, Fat, and Fiber and let your body do what it is designed to do.6

It also helps if you read the reviews after eating the sugar free gummy bears, while sitting on the potty. Gets the stomach muscles really working.8 -
And OP - I know we're poking fun, but all of these very silly suggestions for things that will give you diarrhea are just as legitimate as anything that markets itself as a colon cleanse.
It's nothing more than a way to get you to pay money to spend hours on the toilet with cramps. Ask yourself why something which, when unplanned and unexpected is a sickness, is suddenly beneficial when you slot it into your calendar.
No one ever gets over a case of food poisoning and celebrates how clean their colon feels and how detoxed they are.11 -
magnesium citrate work wonders for clearing your intestines and bowels of debris. It's what your gastroenterologist will have you drink the say before a colonoscopy. Make sure to drink at least 16oz of water with it to prevent dehydration.0

I had the best colon cleanse on May 5th! I had it and all my gi tract below it removed (total proctocolectomy). I don't necessarily recommend it though lol3

Never said I was doing it to detox. There are benefits to getting rid of build up in your colon. I'm not talking about doing some salt water flush type of thing to spend 6 hours back and forth between the toilet, I'm talking about a cleanse to help eliminate any build up in my colon to help with nutrient absorption.
No worries though. I'll go elsewhere

Most nutrients are absorbed in your small intestine not colon and unless you are severely constipated there is no build up in your colon.9 -

You don't get build up of food waste. If you did, you need a hospital trip in a hurry.11 -
Oh and any "cleanse" (glorified word for laxative abuse) will have you running back and forth to the bathroom.4

I'm a Registered Nurse and we've had patients email doctors this question quite a number of times. The doctors always say that a "colon cleanse" is not healthy. You have "good" bacteria (aka: normal flora) that help your body eliminate foods via the digestive system as it's designed. "Cleansing" can affect the normal balance causing your system to be affected negatively.
Why do you feel you need to do this anyway? If it's to help lose weight, it'll mostly be healthy electrolytes and water you're losing that you need so you don't get dehydrated and your muscles function properly.
Be safe. Blessings12 -

By all means. Internet's always been full of helpful places with propper health advise! And if you fail to find a free solution there are plenty that you also get to pay while you poop.5 -
Whatever, I'm not gonna judge. But then again, I have digestive issues. I can't imagine wanting to "cleanse the colon" just for the hell of it.4
