A few years ago, my husband tried to get me life insurance from work at an increased amount as he realizes that if I passed on he is in trouble as he would have the sole responsibility for the kids. I filled out my form and sent it back in, but got denied because I was obese. He tries every year to put me on again, but I stopped filling out the forms - why get denied once again. Well, this year, my form came in and I figured I might as well fill it out even though I am still overweight. I sent it in, had a blood pressure/height/weight check and got approved!49

I was wanting McDonald's for breakfast and instead brought my own coffee, KIND bar and banana. NSV!25

Went to Canada's Wonderland yesterday. It is so much easier walking around all day and hopping in and out of Roller Coasters with 80 less pounds in me. It's nice to not have to worry about the restraints barely fitting, too27

Had an extremely stressful day today at work due to circumstances. However after work home I still did what I had planned: for the first time, after walking home (50 min), go for a 3k run. It was hard and determination got me through.23

My mother and both her brothers have diabetes, and I'm mid-40s, so this is where the rubber meets the road. Also, I have PCOS, so I'm even more likely to have insulin issues.
Blood work results received today say all is well -- glucose and A1C are good, as is cholesterol and blood pressure. Feel like Neo in The Matrix, dodging bullets.36 -
Having to put new notch #4 on my belt. Another notch and I may have to invest in a smaller belt!17

My wedding ring fits again! It hasnt fit in over 2 years!29

Tried on my swimsuit from last year in April. It was baggier for sure, but I thought it would still work fine for swimming by the time the pool opened. Well, went to put it on the other day before a trip to the pool to find that it was WAY too big, hanging off of me. I tried on another one that used to be tight and unflattering. It was also hanging off of me. I had to go to the pool in shorts, a sports bra, and tank top. Need to go buy a new swimsuit!
OK smaller sizes are pretty regular NSVs here. I am not putting down any of them, but your post here is truly awesome. bathing suits are all stretchy and full of my friend spandex and forgive your size a lot - up and down.
The fact that you have undergrown your bathing suits .... wow!. Big Losses.

I had my very first shopping spree at Victoria's Secret today!! Before, I couldn't even think about shopping there.i was 250lbs and a 42DDD....TODAY AT 156LBS I walked out of that store with new 34DD BRAS!!!25

I wear my grandfathers wedding ring (its a type of ring that isnt used a wedding ring anymore) but hadn't been able to take it off for at least year 5 years. Last week I was walking home from the gym and it fell off! Nearly lost it too o_019 -
The BMI chart finally says I am "AVERAGE". I liked the old chart better, it would have said "HEALTHY" but I'll settle.26

Today my senior manager came to my office and she noticed I had lost weight......twice she mentioned how nicely I had lost weight.....with me not seeing much movement on the scale...it sure has made me happy today.25

Started a running club at work! I happened to mention in our work chat that I was looking for a running buddy. It turned into a whole thing with a bunch of people interested in running with me!
A few of us went on our first run today at lunchtime. It was amazing! Another coworker happened to drive by while we were running -- he took the first pic and then shared it in the chat. The praise and compliments came in all day.
It's times like these when I think about how far I've come. Wow.

*Was a Size 11 in March and now a loose 8 and can wear my old Size 7 juniors stuff again.
*My bras are all way too big. I'm drying things on "high" to shrink them.
*I also feel muscles constantly. In deficit, I get very excited that they're coming back.
*I had no idea I could do pull ups until I got on the machine at the Gym and did 20 without much effort. Who knew?!
*I have to wriggle Capri pants over my calf muscles now.
*I feel confident working out in open-backed shirts now. Soon....shortie shorts.
*My collar bones are back!
*I feel energized after 2 hard exercise classes instead of awful and fatigued now.

I think this is an nsv (in the end anyway. ) I've been losing a lb every week for about 12/13 weeks. I'm a short sort so daily target 1200.Last couple I haven't. I know why some family events leading to eating and drinking more etc. I'm ok with that. Then the last few days I've been absolutely ravenous and found it impossible to stick to my target and eating rubbish stuff to just make the hunger stop! Anyway so as not to undo how far I've got I've cut my target loss to half a lb, and my calories have gone up to 1430. Hopefully this will level me out again and I can always change it again another day when I feel less hungry. The nsv is I think that I didn't say stuff it and go back to my "old ways"47

25% body fat , which apparently means 'average' and I'm 1-2% away from 'ideal' range !! So happy!25

My son and I just completed Day 1, Week 8 of C25K! The first five minutes were hard but after that, it was a reasonably comfortable run plod.
But. We. Made. It. To Week 8!
A 28-minute run. 28 minutes!
(You may be able to tell that I'm quite excited about this).
We're already planning how we're going to actually run the 5K itself as our 28-minute plod today worked out at just about 3.2km (2 miles), so we're a bit short of the distance. At that speed, I think it'll take 45 minutes to run plod the distance. I think that I could have kept going for another 15 minutes or so.

You all inspired me to take my measurements again.
Since July 5, 2016:- Waist: lost 10.8 inches
- Hips: lost 9.5 inches
- Neck: lost 2.5 inches
- Wrist: lost .5 inches
- Belly button waist: lost 5 inches
- Largest part of thigh: lost 2 inches
- Ribcage (bra waist): lost 3.75 inches
I wish MFP had more options than just the first three, but eventually I started recording them myself. Weirdly, I am most excited about losing inches on my neck and wrists, because those seem like places where you wouldn't have a lot of fat. Just shows how it's coming off from everywhere.
Aside: it is hard to measure yourself when you are so squishy!! I had to develop a system for my waist, hips, and thighs because measurements can vary sooo much depending on how tightly you pull, lol.23 -

My best for a timed 5K is ~36 mins. See if there is a ParkRun in your area. Free and you are given timed results. I've come in dead last for men in every one I've done, but still doing them. Found out my neighbours do them pretty much every week. I do want to break 30 mins though.12 -
Love the running stories! My personal best 5k is 29:32. That was 20 years ago. I'm training to beat that this year. I have until October, and I'm at 31-ish minutes now, so I'm feeling optimistic.15

You can add the others. On the website, click on the "Check-In" tab at the top of the home page, then at the bottom of the measurement list, click on "Track Additional Measurements". You can add as many as you like, I added all of my measurement areas!15 -
I just discovered that Planet Fitness keeps track of how many days you've come into the gym. I first joined 333 days ago and have shown up there 273 times during that time. Since that was my first time in the gym ever, I wondered if I would actually carry through and show up. I think I did pretty well! (And I'm pretty sure at $10/month they aint making any money off of me)30

You are an inspiration! I ran my first ever 5k last fall after completing C25K. I was dead last in my age category at 39:30. So yes, mine was a plod too. I'm planning on doing the same race this fall and have just started C25K again (because I didn't do any running over the winter/spring). My goal is to better my time from last year.
p.s. I'm planning a trip to the U.K next summer. Number one item on my list? Rain gear lol

Thanks for the reminder about ParkRuns. There is indeed one locally - I'd already looked into it and I was planning to have a go once I'd completed the C25K program and could actually run 5K. Maybe in a couple of weeks' time (now, that's a scary thought)ridiculous59 wrote: »

Inspiration? No, I don't think so. Just willing to have a go at things I fully expect my first full 5K to be slower than slow but at least I'll be doing it.
As for the rain gear, that's understandable; the weather has been atrocious this year so far. Today I had to battle more 20mph winds on the bike and could only manage 14 miles before giving up. I'll probably go out again later when I've mustered up the courage to face the "breeze"11 -
