Went "shopping" in my stash of "too small" clothes today after reaching a personal Scale Victory.
Result - 6 pairs of jeans, chinos and work/office trousers (I'm in the UK, pants mean something totally different here, but those need sorting through too ) returned to service. 6 pairs from the wardrobe that had been held up with belts or willpower going to charity or gardening duty (with tight belts, don't want to be flashing my underwear at the petunias! ).
I lost weight in 2014, but am now a little lower than I got to then (and put it all back on of course until this year). I pinned notes on the "too small" stuff when it went into the drawer under the bed with things like "at X weight, too tight/won't button/thighs tight". I know I was much bigger in 2011-13, so some of these clothes have either never been worn (labels still attached), or not seen the light of day for years! I know - fashion? Pah! Jeans and trousers don't age but for sure these are going to get used.
Tomorrow it's the tops, blouses etc being sorted.
Woo hoo!26 -
I dragged myself out of bed this morning on my day off and went to the gym and did a total of 3.68 miles walking/attempting to jog.26

I have the best NSV you can get: blood test results came back and all of my levels are in perfect health!
Last blood test results I got a few years ago were concerning to the doctor. Low iron, high cholesterol.
Most recent one: everything was so optimal the doctor didn't have anything to say but keep up the good work and I was out of there in 2 minutes.
I'm officially in perfect health!!39 -
Back to a size 14 after maybe 4 years (?) of climbing up past them! So many clothes fitting again, looking forward to getting into the other, smaller sizes in the closet!!!!21

My son and I did our first 5k ParkRun today We weren't going to do it until next week but we thought what the heck, we have to run today anyway, so why not do something a bit different?
I timed our run as 39 minutes, from the start to crossing the finish line, so that's nearly 5 minutes off the time it took for our 5k last Wednesday (the last time we ran). It probably helped that we didn't have to worry about crossing roads/other obstructions but I couldn't believe the numbers of buggies and dogs (which I don't have a problem with per se, apart from the overly long leads on the dogs which were a bit of a trip hazard).
Slightly daunting to turn up and find literally hundreds of people there but we found a spot at the back away from the madding crowd and we completed the run. Got lapped by about a dozen people (the sub-20-minute guys) but they were really sweet and were waiting to applaud the slower ones as they crossed the finish line.
It was fun. And we can do it all again next Saturday53 -
I can now not only fully wrap my arms around my husband, but I can claps my hands behind his back. I love this.25

I call that Wogging. My sport.27 -
Today when I stopped wogging and tried to help my husband push the lawn tractor back to the gargage, I recognized that I wore out my ASICS and need a new pair. I could not get a grip because the bottom is flat.

I attended a family reunion last weekend and everyone noticed my weight loss. A cousin that I had not seen since 2003 did not recognize me (I was 50 pounds heavier then). I am now wearing the same size I wore in the military 30 years ago.29

i've avoided pullup work for several months, after a bad experience jumping up for a negative and wrenching one of those tiny sub-shoulderblade muscles a bit.
but last week my scheduled deadlift weight was 170 pounds for reps. this is the heaviest deadlift i've ever done, and it's kind of like the high point that i tap before dropping back to earth in the past. i really wanted to get more than one rep, so i turned to the pullup handles in between sets just to sent a wakeup call to my abs and lats for the deadlift.
no problems with it. not saying i'm going to dive right back into them, but i have been thinking about it all week and i may have worked out how i set myself up to get hurt the last time. so, y'know. just recording that detail in case i do re-activate that as a goal.
and i got the deadlifts they still killed me, but it took four or them to do it this time, instead of just one.13 -
allllssssoooo . . .
i have been making a beady-eyed grim-faced project of defeating my immobile left toes. three or four weeks ago my trainer was observant enough to notice that when life gets heavy i have trouble keeping the front of that foot on the ground. come to find out, i am/was literally unable to make the toes on that foot move individually. or to 'grab the floor' with that forefoot. just can't do it. try to do it, and something way up at the top of my femur would cramp as it got pinched between the femoral head and whatever is right next to it.
so i went to work. google, massage tools, a stock of those toe-spacer things that pedicure doers like, more google, lots more massage, general mania, and concentrated intentional physio drills. i bought earplugs so i can stuff one into each inter-toe space and walk around with a wider forefoot.
well, i can create daylight between ALL those toes now. two days ago i could sometimes get a random side-jerk out of teh pinky without being able to predict, feel or control it. today i can side-move that toe when i want to. for reps
this might sound a bit silly, but it is huge. i am seriously sick, and also a little bit worried, of that tendonitis and other trouble that i get at the top of that leg. i noticed too that whenever i'm walking around at work, the id tags that i hang round my neck side-swing so much that i sometimes grab them with my free hand. not happening nearly so much, so i'm changing my gait.21 -
I can wrap my hands around my leg, just above my knee, and my fingers touch ^^18

I call it rocking! Sounds way better than the reality of me running/walking!!12 -
I can do chin ups now. I did my first one ever the other day and today I did 2 sets of 2. I'm still working on the pull ups, but I'll get there.18

I'm new here and wanted to say thanks to everyone e that has posted. You all are amazing.
My NSV is that I finally hit 10000 steps yesterday for the first time. Today is my rest day, but I would like to hit 10k again tomorrow.34 -
I got flirted with in the checkout aisle of the grocery store! By a really fit guy who was like, an 8. It's been so long since someone flirted with me that I didn't even realize that's what was happening until my husband came back with that one last thing he had gone back for and the guy was really embarrassed.37

Went back to the gym today. Had not been in over 2 months. It felt so good to release all those toxins that were holding me back.21

Yesterday, buying shirts for work and being told the shirts I thought I needed were to big and I actually needed a size, 3 sizes smaller!29

Ran for a whole hour a couple of days ago. The big NSV though was telling someone about it after and explaining that it was really slow because I did it at the sort of gentle pace that feels like you can keep it up forever and realising that I now have a gentle running pace that feels like that, not that long ago all running paces irrespective of how slow were "OMG I'm going to die" pace.42

Been slacking for a few weeks and now back on track, so nice to know you can get right back into things again and not have to lose everything you already worked for....I want to be healthy and fit so time to get down to work again as i have 15 more pounds to go, I am a different person than I was last year at this time or even in the past 10 years.22

I have a few NSVs:
Regarding clothes: I'm packing up and getting ready to donate "old me" things that never will be worn by me again, either because they're too big or I don't love them.
Regarding stuff: Over the last few months, I've packed up and donated carloads full of things (sets of dishes, appliances, Christmas decorations, suitcases, exercise equipment, etc.). Today, an auctioneer is coming to take away everything else that I do not love and that is worth selling: antiques, furniture I've inherited, etc.
I feel like the last two years have been The Great Purge. I'm glad to be passing things on so others may use it.
And, I've been thinking about how ridiculous is it to keep things just because a relative owned and used it. Some things mean a lot to me and I'm keeping them, but the rocker that my Civil War great-something's father made him for a wedding present ... ??? I have moments where these things sound cool, but, really, it's time those things moved on. I mean, why is my great, great, great grandfather decorating my house? Someone else will love these things and create a home for them, so unless I love it, I'm letting it all go. Honestly, for me at least, there is something liberating about being free of the past in this way.46 -

@youdoyou2016 - great job on the purge. I know it isn't easy, but so liberating to allow someone else to love those items. I went through something similar a year and a half ago. We downsized from a large 4 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment and I had to be brutal when it came to eliminating stuff. My question as I went through everything was: When I am no longer here, will anyone care about this? Very few items were 'yes'.11 -
Taking up running has improved my walking speed - went for a walk with my family earlier and my son (running partner) and I had to keep waiting for the others to catch up13

Agree with you totally on this one! My DH inherited some random silver-plated stuff (cake knives and the like) as it was "to be passed through the generations".
Now, I had some issues with this:
1) It was worthless.
2) It was really ugly
3) It wouldn't ever be used by DH or myself
4) It hadn't been "passed through the generations" to my DH as it was relatively modern stuff
5) It was taking up space in my home.
6) There was no way on earth I was "passing it on" as it was just horrible, horrible stuff. It was just junk really.
It all got re-homed (with DH's blessing) via the local charity shops. At least that was someone who paid for it actually wanted it. And the charity got a donation as well.

I've worn skirts the last couple of days because it's been so warm. Two days in a row I had to spray them with "Shout" because I'd dropped a piece of lettuce on my lap that had oil and vinegar dressing on it. Yes. The lettuce fell all the way to my lap. It didn't stop at my boobs. Nor did it stop at my belly. And it wasn't a fluke because it happened twice. Also, while wearing a skirt I took the dog for a walk and not a hint of chub rub. I'm livin' the dream49

I've been transitioning into minimalism for a while now. What really kicked it into high gear for me was losing weight and getting rid of so much clothing because of it. Now I have less than 30 pieces of clothing. I'm happier with about 20 pieces of clothing, but I still have some fat to lose so I'm hanging on to some goal stuff. It's truly great to wake up in the morning and know what I'm going to wear. I don't have to think about it, I just get dressed. And I know I'll love it because I only keep what I love.
I find it easy to apply this to everything else I own, especially random belongings of dead people I never met.

The post-shower towel fits all the way around me -- no body parts poking out.27

I've noticed that my posture is much better and more comfortable. I stand more up right and with my shoulders squared. I also don't tend to slouch over as much when I sit down17

I'm now willing to wear a sportswear crop-top to workout in front of other people!24
