Keeping an online food diary will help me workout what genuinely aggravates ibs. Also helps me have rough idea of how many cals I'm consuming

Definitely step in right direction . My breakfast/postworkout has come to nearly 500 so least now I know that it's best to avoid snacking and just keep cals for some nice meals today0

If you've done a workout then you have those calories to eat back too... that's how MFP works1
