Are you allergic to milk or just lactose intolerant?

If you just have Lactose intolerance you can safely consume almost all "Whey Protein Isolate" powders on the market.

A whey protein isolate may work - one without casein. There are a lot of people that can't ingest the casein without 'side effects'.

you can definitely use water, but IMO it won't taste great. i personally rarely drink straight protein powder and usually opt to throw it into a shake (frozen banana, soy milk, maybe some frozen berries). Otherwise i use it for baking and i make protein cheesecakes, protein breakfast bread, protein oatmeal, etc.

I like Gaspari Myofusion. I do it with water and usually half a banana. Blending them together give a nice texture and flavor. I am lactose sensitive and I tolerate this fine with no side effects.
