Day 6 done but I increased my weights. Think I went a step too far though as I couldn't manage to complete the sets so will adjust them down a little (I have a great set of variable weights that you can add/remove 250g weights)
Managed to do almost all the cardio all the way through. Another couple of days on level 1 then I think I'll be ready to move on.0 -
Sort ladies, but I failed. Day 1 was horrible. Day 2 I pushed through but was even worse. Day 3 I shut it off after 5 minutes and didn't look back. Took me 2 days after that to be able to sit and stand back up without pain in my thighs... But my 9 year old asked me today why I gave up. I told him it was too hard, and mommy was out of shape. I need to stick to walking. He looked disappointed and gave me a pep talk. He said walking is good but you do it all the time. If you do something that's hard, you will feel better when it will get easier. And that's how you get in shape. By doing really hard things until they aren't so hard anymore. Like homework he said. Ugh! When did my 9 year old get so smart? So, back on the wagon today. Made it through day 1 again. And I WILL stick with it because my son is watching. And he is amazing and deserves a healthy mom that doesn't quit.
Keep going - your son is right, you will feel great when it starts to get easier. I spent the first 3 days with my quads burning. Just completed day 6 on level 1 and I feel great. I really cannot believe how much fitter I feel already.0 -
i started it again today....did it a few months back and loved it! wont make the full 30 days tho as goin on holiday on the 21st. also doing 5k run 3x a week, swimming 2x a week n weights 2x a week.... want my bikini body for goin away0

Day 5 is done. It was definitely better than Day 4. I think I am going to up my hand weights (I am only using 2 lbs) and stop doing some modified movements (except for push ups... I could never do a full push up).0
-
Just finished L1 D2. I'm hoping by day 5 i can get through it without my knees bothering. its so weird I usually dont have this issure but my left knew cracks alot! as much as i go to the gym i never feel it but when i do the 30DS i instantly feel it. i must say its great that i can do this and speed rope for 15 minutes a day when I am not able to get to the gym. I'll post my results for level 1 once im done with it.0

Day 4 (Level 1) done! I actually managed to do the side lunges exercise without stopping today for the first time! My arms must be getting stronger. I don't think I will ever be able to do the un-modified push ups though! It is hard enough doing the modified ones!0
-
Today is L1D4 for me! After the first day I was soo sore! Still sore, but I am keeping at since it seems a majority have said the soreness subsides by day 5. Can't wait for that! In addition to 30DS, I am watching my caloric intake and doing additional 30 minutes of cardio almost everyday. Hoping to see some dramatic results, I need it! Good job everyone to keeping it up!0
-
I will be doing L1 Day 3 later!
Only thing I've noticed is my weight going up, not down though since I started. I hope it's just water retention or something - did anyone else find this in the first few days?
This can happen with strength training as you will be building muscles. I have seen several posts of people who stayed the same or gained a little in the first 6-10 days but then the weight starts coming off!0 -
I recently started the 30 day shred. I'm on L1 D3.. I watched the video the day before I actually started it and thought, "This is gonna be easy!" Boy was I wrong!!!! The first day, I couldn't complete each circuit without stopping several times. Today, I managed to get thru most of the circuits with very little breaks... I have to say, I am getting better at it. I do find at times that I have to talk myself into doing it but once completed, I feel so good about it.
Good Luck to everyone!!!!0 -
I'm on Level 1, Day 4 today! While I'm sore in some areas, I noticed a couple of the other exercises getting a bit easier yesterday. My biggest struggles are with the squat and press, side lunge with anterior raises, and bicycle crunches. I sometimes struggle through the jump rope/jumping jack circuit, but I'm training for my second half marathon and my legs are feeling a bit overworked this week.
My plan is to finish 30DS and then work with her No More Trouble Zones DVD a few times a week up until my race. I want to build strength, but also need to allow some time to really rest/heal.
Haven't noticed a drop in the scale yet, but I am feeling better- just overall "tighter" I guess.0 -
Uh oh, I'm starting to skip days. I dont remember any particular reason as to why I skipped yesterday...? I did a kickboxing class for an hour then pilates for an hour. I guess all I was missing was strength... but no excuses! I need to do it tonight. Today is going to be D9L1...how crazy! I'm going to be starting L2 on Saturday... I am getting more toned, but I haven't had any weight loss. And I was hoping this would help tone my tummy or shrink it down or something but that is the one area I'm not seeing any improvement! >:-( I've worked out every day since starting, even if I skip a day. This is getting discouraging...0

Just keep pushing through! I thought the same thing, but each day I've gotten a little bit stronger.0 -

I've heard a lot of people say they lost only a couple pounds doing the shred, but still saw huge improvements in inches lost, so I wouldn't stress too much. People can see inches with their eyes, but they can't see your actual weight without a scale!
As for the tummy...did you take before pictures? It might just be that you see yourself every day and aren't seeing the gradual progress that will add up by the end of the month.0 -
I did L1D1 on wednesday and all day felt like i had spaghetti arms and legs - could not push thru it- also just starting c25k at same time but couldnt do my running today- so now for friday..c25k or 30DS??? Cant decide....0

Just did Level 1, Day 4! Not going to lie, it was ROUGH! I did my run first tonight (5.5 miles), so I was already tired. As much as it stinks, the other way around makes it nearly impossible to get through my run.
Luckily tomorrow is a rest day from running, so the 30DS workout will seem much better!
Hang in there folks! As tired as I am, I'm noticing my abs and arms getting a bit stronger!0 -
Day 7 done (L1). Working with heavier weights than days 1-5 and boy are my arms feeling it. Going to do 3 more days at this level and really push myself. So that means I start level 2 on Tuesday. I might watch it through on Monday after I do day 10 at level 1.0
-
Level 1/Day 3 done. I switched from 1 kg/2.2 lbs weights to 1.5 kg/3.3 lbs weights today. I managed to do everything apart from the 3 last side lunges, I just couldn't bring my arms up one more time. Hope it'll be better tomorrow.0
-
Day 9 of Level 2 today! Haven't done it yet, I might have to do it after work (normally I would do it this morning). It's funny, because in the mornings I'm also studying for my MCATs (the exam you need to take to get into medical school), and I can never tell which I dread more... JM beating me up or studying electromagnetism for the physics portion ahahaha.0
-
I'm starting tonight. I had my baby 6 weeks ago and I have been cleared to exercise! So excited!0
-
I'm on Day 3 and I am sooooooo sore!!!!!!!! I burn between 450-500 calories per my HRM, but you can enter it as Circuit Training and its about the same. And I can feel my stomach muscles, biceps, and thighs are aching, but I am am ready to continue!
How much weight do you use? I never get a bicep workout "/
I dont think its a bicep workout on there, but thats the muscle I feel burning. I have some 5lbs, I may get some 10 lbs for Level 20 -
Day 6 was done last night. I ate before I did it and that was a big mistake. Yeesh. I need to get some heavier weights (except for the shoulder raises! Yeesh!) I am only using 2 lbs now and I am not really feeling it anymore. I have to bring the shred out to the cabin for days 7, 8 and 9. Then Day 10 on Monday and DUM DUM DUM Level 2 on Tuesday!! I am scared.0
-
The Shred is awesome!
I did it a while back and could tell a huge difference. Not only did I feel stronger, but my arms were way more toned.0 -
I'm going to start tomorrow with the 3DS I did it a while back , but suddenly kind of stopped ( still don't know why - lack of motivation? ) But I noticed even then , that my arms were so much more toned ! And I was even getting some abs *-*!0

I am glad that there are more of us doing 30DS.
Update on mine: Today will be my day9 level1. I skipped one day due to my knees hurting. It hasn't been better yet but when I weighed the next day, I noticed I lost 1 lb so I decided not to delay the weight coming off.
And with that said: I have lost a total of 4 lbs since I started 30DS and have lost a total of 6 since I started logging everyday.0 -
D5, L1 Complete! I worked all day and was so exhausted when I came but I did NOT want a day off! I love doing the shred, it's becoming less of a chore and more of a fun activity! I've also noticed my fitness improving, I really need to replace the battery on my scales so I can weigh in and check out my progress! I haven't done so since I started, I can't wait to see my results!0
-
Day 4/Lvl 1 done. I was able to go on the stair-treadmill for 30 minutes after the workout so I'm happy with how this day turned out exercise wise.0
-
WHOOP WHOOP!! mines jst this second been delivered and im gonna do it later today, but does anyone know how many calories (roughly) do u burn with each 20min workout?? so i know what to write down on my exercise!!!
Sounds really weird but i really cant wait to start, i am the same i try to find reasons not to do it but am determined to do all 30 days!!! really hope i see some results!! lol
Good luck everyone!! :bigsmile:0 -
So sad I wasn't able to do it yesterday. However, I don't feel too guilty... we have company and I've been exhausted working at the barn. I have my MFP settings for "lightly active", but this summer I am at the barn for 3-6 hours a day working non stop. And my body was begging me for a break. I still rode yesterday and worked so at least I was moving, but I'm up at 5:00 and I couldn't manage JM at 8:00 last night haha.
I'll do it tonight! So today will be day 9 of level 2.0 -

I record it as circuit training (as recommended by someone else who said that this was a good approximation as it was the closest to what their HRM told them they were burning).0
