I've never been to Olive Garden .. not sure if I want to go
It's like Red Lobster. I'd like some seafood but not sure if I want to go there for it2 -
I understand that they have a delicacy there called "bread-sticks" that are supposed to be very popular.1
-
I've never eaten there but the McDonald's inside Notre-Dame de Paris is probably the finest anywhere in the world.
It's worth traveling to Paris just to eat there.
And you won't believe what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese!

I heard their breadsticks are pretty good.0

Why do people think they are missing anything? I thought I was very clear and concise about my post. Was I not?
Yes, you were clear. My apologies for mentioning it to begin with. Given your joking nature and that this is the chit chat thread I wasn't sure if you were serious or not, mainly because I'm Italian and make my own pasta, sauce, and meatballs and would never consider going to Olive Garden, particularly with all the fabulous options in NYC.
But, if you go, enjoy! And tell us how it was.0 -

This.. 100 percent.
Right next door to Carmines is John's Pizza.0 -
I really hope you're joking! If the Italian food at Olive Garden is the best you've had then it's time to try some authentic Italian places, many of which can be found in NYC.
However, given the tone of this board, I probably missed something in reference to the Olive Garden and I'm completely off base. If so, don't mind me. Carry on.
I thought this too....and then i tired the places and still prefer ive garden lolll0 -

I heard they have put many small Italian Mama & Papa family restaurants out of business in Little Italy. Probably because of their breadsticks and all you can eat salads! They are like the Wal Mart of the restaurant business.0

So I'm thinking of going to New York City to visit the Times Square Olive Garden. I think the Olive Garden is probably the best Italian food I've ever had and try to go to one in every city I go to. I would make a special trip just for this one.
go to Carmine's Italian Restaurant, 5 mins to Olive Garden with actual food4 -
I traveled to Chicago once and learned where Frank Sinatra's favorite restaurant was. Damn right, I ate there.0
-
I have a hunch that the Times Square Panda Express is going to put the Times Square Olive Garden out of business.4

I've been to that Olive Garden. Be aware that the tip is already added to every bill. You can adjust it up or down but don't add ANOTHER 20% by mistake! Check your bill carefully because a lot of the restaurants in heavily touristed areas are doing this now.
Carmine's is good, but it is another frequent stop for tourists. Be aware that chain restaurants are more expensive in NYC than at home. You're not going to find 2 for $20 deals or unlimited apps for $10.1 -
I'm like Michael Scott, when I go to New York City I want authentic Italian, I'm not going to eat at some corporate joint like Olive Garden that I can just find at home:

I don't know whether to link to the r/askreddit thread, or to bring up the Low-Cal Calzone Zone. My head is spinning.
A+ work, OP, would lol again.2 -
This place keeps getting better and better.5

I know you are joking, but my best friends wife actually loves Olive Garden and it is her favourite restaurant. That alone is reason enough to not marry her, but he did! I think I have been there once in the past 25 yrs, and maybe 5 times total. It was my idea to 0 of those times.1
-
Joking...what are you talking about. This place is amazing. They bring you fresh breadsticks. And the wine there is excellent...try the house cab. They dont even make you sniff the cork!3
-
Don't bother going there! Their food isn't that good. The wait is way too long & the food isn't worth it. Plus as a NY'er, I stay FAR AWAY from tourist traps! No matter the time of day or night, there are ALWAYS waaaayyyy too many people in Times square.0

Its been about 10 years. Not much different than any other olive garden besides size and location.
Also, you need to eat more italian if this is really the best you got0 -
Also, why did I respond to an old *kitten* necro thread1
-
I said it a million times, "Don't make me eat there."0
