Hey all! I eat a pretty basic Keto diet. Typical day is 2 eggs with 2 pieces of regular bacon for my first meal. I sometimes do bullet proof coffee or just coffee with heavy cream! I have at least 2 cups of lettuce greens per day. I have chicken salad or cheese and soprasetta for midday meal if I'm hungry. For dinner I have a piece of meat or chicken with its fat or skin. I also usually have Brocolli, cauliflower or more salad greens. I drink water, coffee, or unsweetened tea. Sometimes I have halo top ice cream. I know some don't find it's Keto- but I'm in the camp of if it fits in my macros. I aim for 70-75 percent fat, 20-25 percent protein, and 5 % carbs. Under 20 NET carbs per day! I'm 45 and if I can do this I know others can! I really started as a way to help my depression and anxiety and they are gone. My chronic pain is gone. I'm spreading the Keto message!15

way to go on it. never tried keto but i might give it a shot if i cant overcome my next plateau0

Thanks for the info. I seriously think my weight loss was affected when I stopped eating my eggs and bacon but the smell was bothering my husband. I just tried HaloTop. Yum!1

Congratulations on your 40 pound weight loss. You look terrific!! I started the Atkins 20 plan back on June 28th and have lost 2 pounds every week. I was in a plateau for over 2 years where I tried to stick to a low calorie diet but my sweet cravings were out of control. Finally I decided to try high protein high fat and 20 net grams of carbs and this worked. I no longer have sugar cravings and am determined to lose the 25 pounds I still need to lose and I agree keto diets and low carbs is the answer for many of us who just cannot lose the weight. Again, Congratulations on your 40 pound weight loss.1

I have been keto for 2 years. I lost 60lbs in the first year. I follow the advice of Dr. Ted Naimen. He has a website called Burn Fat not Sugar and is active on Facebook. I haven't lost anything in quite a while, so I started swapping items from a low carb high fat diet, and picking lower fat items from (PSMF)-protein sparing modified fast and logging everything I eat. I've lost 7lbs in 2 1/2 weeks so far. http://www.burnfatnotsugar.com/2

Congratulations on your loss. do you exercise? if so what is your workout plan like?
I have a 26 year old adult disabled daughter who I have to help do everything for so I get a lot of lifting throughout the day. I also do planks, squats, and kettle bell swings a couple of times per day. I try to get out and walk when I have some help. Walking not so much for exercise but for solitude and some alone time.7 -
You look great! Your smile says it all! I started keto just 10 days ago. I've lost 6lbs. I feel really great. My macros are similar to yours. I really love ruledme.com for recipes. I have also added FitnessBlender workouts. They are free and can be done at home. Congratulations!3

I am curious as to what you eat you look great. I also struggle with water retention I think it is from carbs but not sure where to begin. Would it be possible to see your diary2

You look amazing. I get the gist of keto diet but seems so hard for every day. When I did a little bit of research there was so much carbs in every thing I ate, even fruit!0

Keto is low carb.. you try to stay between 20-50g carbs but most people aim for 20g or lower. Your mfp macros would have your carbs at 12% (50g) or lower of NET carbs. In the US net is added in with carbs from fiber but over seas it's already separated. Subtract fiber from carbs on us packaging for net carbs.
The diet is both hard and simple all at the same time. Simple because you could stick strictly to meat and veggies and maintain low carb status (but this gets boring).. hard because what you may think is low carb may not be.. like lunch meats have a lot of fillers (carbs).. you will want REAL meat not processed. And packaged items will have hidden carbs! And then items like potatoes, yams, beets, peanuts .. basically any root will have carbs. If it grows under ground, it's higher carbs. If it grows above ground, it's lower carbs. Fats come from oils, avocado, nuts, skin on chicken.. etc.. watch the nuts though. Some have higher carbs than others. Macadamia nuts, Brazil nuts, pecans, walnuts.. these are lower carb. Cashews, pistachios, almonds, peanuts.. these are higher carbs.
I find it's easier to remain low carb if I eat a high fat/protein breakfast. Bacon and eggs will do!

This is the most simply I have ever eaten. My macros are fat 75%, protein 20 %, and carbs 5%. Most of my fat comes from fatty sources of meat, poultry with skin intact, heavy cream, butter, and coconut oil. Most of my carbs come from lettuce, broccoli, pecans, walnuts, and cauliflower. It keeps it simple and easy. Friend me if you like- my diary is unlocked!4

Congrats! You look great. I've also been successful eating Keto style.1
