Okay so the white stuff is cream cheese and yellow stuff is cheddar but I'm assuming you could be extra gross and use mayo and mustard

My father always called mayo "the toe jam of the gods"... that *kitten* still grosses me out to this day.

how do you make your grilled cheese then?! :o

Butter and way too much cheese! Do you grill the bread with the mayo on the outside or inside the sandwich?

for real. i use brioche in my cast iron. thick slices. mayo on the outside. good thick cheese on the inside. huge chunk of butter in the pan. toss em in and let em go for like 5 mins on each side. RIP in peace arteries. no ragrats

Minus the mayo, this *kitten* sounds legit. I only recently heard about using mayo on the outside and grilling it. I kinda wanna try it but just can't bring myself to do it.

And for people discussing mayo or butter for grilled cheese I have just the video for yeh

I like to squirt BBQ sauce on bologna and roll it up as a snack.

Here's her Spaghetti O Vienna Sausage :s Mold. Her food is pretty to look at. Just I don't think I would like the taste.

You do realize why I have to post this.... I don't want to.... but I think the forums might require this be posted every so often. I wonder who posted this first?

No, I don't think it was judgey, just harsh. ;)

I just learned about mayo outside grilled cheese last year and it is AMAZE.
We like to pull quick weeknight meals or big weekend projects from NYT Cooking, and I saw they had a recipe for grilled cheese. I was all "uh I learned to make this when I was 8, does it really need a recipe?" but then we tried it and it was just so good. We've used sliced brioche and sliced sourdough (both tasty!), and the sandwich goes quite well with soup.

If I didn't know it was mayo, do you think someone who doesn't like mayo would notice the difference?

I don't think so. I don't like mayo and I don't ever use or eat it otherwise. The sandwich just crisps up nicely and I don't taste anything different than making it with butter.

I agree. It doesn't really taste like mayo, but it's delish, and spreads easily on the bread!

Don't think I would ever make a Bologna Cake, but, reading this post yesterday inspired dinner last night.

I stopped at the Deli and bought some Coppacola, Mortadella , Salami, Provolone, Swiss and Cheddar.

It was my birthday, so I treated myself to a sandwich with all the above on toasted French Loaf. Added Red Onions, Tomatoe, Avocado, lettuce, mustard, horseradish and mayo.

The sandwich stood about 14 inches high on the plate. Took real commitment and ingenuity to eat it like a sandwich. Washed it down with a tumbler of Booker's on the rocks.

That's how the RoadDog rolls on his 63rd Birthday.

Sounds awesome. Happy Belated Birthday. <3

This isn't the first time I've learned something new from you.

I'm just trying to further educate friends and the people in general. I hope the rectal plugs are working out for you.
