You GO! You look so great and so much happier and younger.
I also wanted to say how appreciative I am of those who share their stories. Since I'm not pigging out on fast food during my lunch breaks anymore , I love to spend this time reading about everyone's successes. Stories like this keep me from giving in and going through the drive through "just this once" (unless it's for an unsweetened iced tea). I'm looking forward to being able to post one of these threads of my own someday.6 -
wow, your doing great, keep up the great work1

Ok, we're halfway through 2017 and it's time for another update. I'm not going to say I've lost a huge amount this year, in fact I've *only* lost another 20lb, but it's been a six months filled with firsts, skills mastered and challenges accepted.
So far this year I have :
Run my first 10K (in 1hr 34)
Run my first Half Marathon (cross country in 3:33)
Deadlifted bodyweight (actually got to 95kg so 20kg above bodyweight)
Learnt to do burpees
Learnt to do mountain climbers
Got through an Insanity class without modding
Built my core strength enough to do crunches, sit ups and heel taps.
Held a plank for 1minx3
And my challenges for the second half of 2017.
1. Lose another 15lb to get down to 150lb (my original long term target)
2. Run my 2nd half marathon (in August)
3. Deadlift 100kg
4. Squat Bodyweight
5. Master single leg squats
6. Master hanging leg raises
7. Run a sub 30min 5K
And here are the obligatory progress pics, first comparing when I started to a week or so ago. Second comparing start of year to couple weeks ago.

Wow. Just wow. You are so amazing. I know you are still working on your body and haven't met all your goals but... please give yourself credit for how far you have come! You look SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE AND HAPPY in your after pics. Honestly. I can tell you feel better and that your outlook on life is different just by looking at your face in the pics. And now you're running races, my god, what an inspiration! Best of luck to you in your fitness goals. Thank you for the inspiration! It really means a lot to me3

You are seriously one of the most inspirational people I have had the pleasure of reading about.
For many years, I used my asthma as an excuse to be lazy. Now that I don't, I'm continually reminded of all the things I missed out on because of all my excuses. I'm thrilled you have also come to that understanding.
You also give me hope that a family member with similar health issues to yours may eventually lead an active lifestyle with me rather than stay on the sidelines forever using her health issues as an excuse.
Thank you and power on you strong and amazing person!1 -
WOOOW!!!! How inspiring. Keep up the awesome work.0

Ok so it's not long since my last update, but hit a huge milestone last week after a tough week being pushed to my absolute limit my bmi rating finally dropped in to the overweight category. Been a long time coming and I'm really pleased to have got there. Oh and a little photo showing the fantastic way heavy squatting, deadlifting and running has sculpted my legs.

You are just the best. I was sheepish about going to the gym before I read this and now I want to go crush it. Thank you for the inspiration and I can't wait for the next installment!1

Ok so I am now well and truly on countdown to my original target weight, it's a little bit scary to think how close I am to that 150lb but at 154.8lb I guess you could say that the day is looming when I need to reassess my weight goals. Oh and thanks to losing more weight I can also officially say that I can squat bodyweight

You look amazing ! I'm just on my second week, but what caught me with you was hypermobility. I also have this and it does hold me back somewhat my hips sublux to much but hopefully small and little steps will help me on my way0

Hi, I found that strength training really helped with the sublexing (mine was my ankle). By using free weights you strengthen all those little stabilising muscles which in turn hold the joints in place better. If you can find a trainer that understands hypermobility then get them to teach you the lifts (although I can squat *kitten* to grass my trainer doesn't have me doing it with heavy weights due to the risks). I still have some clicking in my hips when doing mountain climbers but everything is improving both in stability and flexibility (many people don't realise that us bendies can end up with reduced range of movement thanks to reccurrent injury and fear of sublexing/dislocating).

Well done you what a great achievement so far0

So here we are, mid august and I've finally dropped under 11 stone.
I've just completed a boot camp week with my PT, 5 PT sessions, 10 Classes and a personalised 90% vegan meal plan. What the week's eating has taught me is not to be scared of the oils or bigger meals, there were meals that were 1000 Calories and days when I ate 2500, but I still lost 4.2lb and 1% bodyfat in that week. As for the physical activity well I'm not going to lie, it was tough, but I got through it and am even learning to do roundhouse kicks.

My brain hasn't yet caught up with my body and much of the time I still see myself as I was 2 years ago. Occasionally I'll catch a glimpse in a mirror and think OMG I'm starting to look pretty good, and I'm thinking it more often than I used to but still my body isn't where I want it yet and I'm my own worst critic.7 -
What an achievement! Congratulations!! Your dedication to your program is awesome, and it's really great to hear that the struggle will be worth it! Thanks for sharing your journey.
