Hey everyone, what are your favorite zero calorie foods? I like Kosher pickles, Diet Coke, and plain yellow mustard.

    @ContraryMaryMary Those all have calories, so they're not really what I was asking about...

    I think the joke was that they average out to zero with the run.

    Seasoned roasted seaweed, salted radishes, black coffee with cinnamon. Again, everything has calories if you eat enough of it, but they don't have many.

    I eat salt once a day. I guess that makes it a favorite zero calorie food, although "zero calorie" and "food" don't belong together.

    This may not be a thing in Europe... I have never seen a zero calorie label and when I log enough of cinnamon even that shows up as being 1 calorie.

    Very low calorie foods that I would eat: various vegetables (othert than lettuce mostly going to be over 5 cal, though), pickles (typically more than 5 for a whole pickle), pepperoncini.

    Condiments, it's not like you are going to eat them straight, right? Most of the ones I love (mustard, lots of spicy sauces, vinegars) are extremely low cal and I often don't count them, but they always go on foods with more calories so when I eat them the food I am eating is not 0 cal.

    So for all intents and purposes I don't quite get the value of this. I guess because I don't like grazing and tend to eat meals that have calories even if some of the components are low calorie. Are you looking for really low cal things to snack on, OP?

    Yup. I'm in the UK and I bought some cooking spray today that I believe would be labeled 0 calorie in the US, here it's labeled 1 calorie per spray. OT a bit, they're infused, one with garlic, one with chili, so fancy.

    I guess some things that are low calorie I've snacked on is cucumber/pickles, celery, radishes, baby tomatoes but they don't satisfy in any way, either hunger or the desire to snack (psychological). YMMV.

    Back in my weight loss phase I did ADF and on my very low 'fasting' days I drank a lot of chicken broth, which comes in under 20 calories for a cup (I'd heat it up in a mug and drink it). Or diet hot cocoa (25 calories for a mug).

    Otherwise other very low calorie items-black coffee, diet soda, lettuce, fat free Italian dressing (Kraft), mustard, hot sauce, salsa, pickles, celery, soy sauce.

    Oh yes! I've been known to have Bovril (don't know if that's a thing everywhere) or instant miso, both low calorie and intensely savoury so good itch scratchers sometimes.

    I like to soak slices of cucumber in rice vinegar and water for 3+ hours then drain them and eat them with salt and pepper.

    Other low-cal faves are pickles, carrots, berries, sugar-free jello cups, watermelon, chicken broth, tea.

    Have to say black coffee and unsweetened tea. Also water. Gives me something to do and fills my stomach a bit.

    When I'm anaemic I like eating ice ;)

    Just a note to the person who wooed me. When you are very anaemic often times you develop pica and one of the intense cravings is ice

    Peaches, peaches, peaches. I just love my peaches. One-two is all it takes to fool my stomach that I've had a nice big meal and as a bonus my sugar craving is also gone. Also for a sweet fruit they don't seem to have as many calories.

    But things like mustard and Diet Coke aren't a snack. I think focusing on planning a days worth of food that will fill you up would be a more productive endeavor than looking for extremely low calorie things to eat if you are still hungry...

    I love nectarines (less fuzzy than peaches ;) ), but the ones they are selling in the store right now are so big - 250g of the edible part, that it ends up being about 110 calories. Should probably still watch the calories on peaches.

    Mine are just the vegetables, the pickles (as you already mentioned), and coffee, always coffee. Tea sometimes too, I guess. Although the latter two are not food they served the function for me early on when I just wanted a break or to snack on something.
