Hi I'm interested to know what everyone's 12 week success rate is? I'm going wedding dress shopping start of November and wondered what was achievable. I've done 6lb in a couple of weeks so far.

I lost just over 15 lbs.
Congrats on the wedding! I'm assuming your question is concerning what size dress you will need etc. A tip from someone who didn't do it right - always buy a dress larger than you need. The dress shop people will tell you the same thing. They have SO many horror stories about brides buying a size they 'plan' to fit in, but weight loss is hard to predict and the pressure it adds certainly doesn't help. I made the mistake of buying a dress off the rack that my girlfriend said was just about one inch gap to close. One inch wasn't too bad and I planned on losing weight - which I did. Problem was that the gap was 4 inches large - not 1! (Maybe she was trying to be nice lol. Or maybe she just stunk at estimating distance) . Either way, I ended up with a lovely back fat muffin top .5 -
Hi. Congratulations on your wedding. I started using MFP one and a half months ago and I was able to lose 9lbs in 5 weeks.1

3 months was about 15lbs for me. I'm on the slow and steady track.6

I'm just about 3 months in. Down approximately 35-40 pounds from where I started (230 to 190ish). About 15 pounds came off in the first month (water weight) and I've been pretty steady in losing ~2 pounds per week since then.
Keep in mind that the less you have to lose, the slower it will go.1 -
I lost a bunch of weight between wedding dress fittings - so this is my cautionary tale.
Make sure the people who are altering your dress are able to do it right before the wedding. I had my original alterations about 3 months prior to my wedding and I ended up losing quite a bit of weight between then and the wedding. I went to do a "final check" and to pick up my dress a week before the wedding and I had lost so much that my strapless gown was falling down off of me.
I had a corset back and it was pulled as tight as it could go and it was still falling off (plus then you couldn't see the pretty lacing)! Thankfully they were able to do emergency alterations and take it in again, but I couldn't get my dress until two days before my wedding (talk about STRESS!). Plus I had to pay for alterations not once, but twice.
So just make sure you're prepared for something like this so that you can look as good as possible on your big day! Congratulations and good luck!6 -
Started at 71 Kgs (156.2 Lbs) for our american cousins. Started logging in seriuosly since June. Weight has come down to 64.1. For t2 days I even saw 63.8! My goal weight is 62. Been a bit naughty on a few occasions - a few drinks, a indian curry. Four day trip to Spian didn't help! Kept logging in from there as well, went over a few times. Left Glasgow 63.8, weight after landing was 65 and the following day dipped to 64.1 and has been steady. Will weigh tomorrow.! Hoping a steady weight! (crosses finger) Done proper I can get to my target weight in 3 week - will aim for this.0

It all depends on how much you have to lose. If you have a lot to lose, you can lose quite a bit in 3 months. If you are only just a little bit overweight, you will not be able to lose that much. It took me 3 months to lose 10lbs taking me from middle of BMI range to low end.5

In three days I will at 3 months. I have lost 26 pounds so far, and have gone from size 14 pants to a very loose size 10, or a very tight size 8.4

I was at least 68kg/150lb on 5/23, and measured 60kg/132lb on 8/23. 162cm/5'3.5" and 24 y/o.
None of my pants fit three months ago. Now every pair needs a belt to wear.
Still have 10kg to go though... ):3 -
Even if in three months you don't get where you want. Find the dress you love. Ask when the deadline to order the dress is (Mine was 12 weeks) Then go back in closer to the deadline to see if the size has changed. I wish I would have wait just a few more months. I more than a dress size and spent almost half what I bought the dress for on alterations.0

Just hit my 3 month weight loss point and I was down 21 pounds.2

Started my journey June 19th at 290ish. I have lost a total of 37 pounds in 11 weeks. I still have a long way to go. Everyone loses differently. It depends on your weight how much you would like to lose and how much effort you put into it.2

353 to 299 in 3 months.1

everyone is different, I lost 32lbs in the first 3 months but I also had 95lbs to lose. I would buy a dress that fits you now and have it altered smaller than buy a smaller dress and it not fit the way you want it to fit. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!1

From the end of May until now, so exactly 3 months, I dropped from 260 to 217.2
