Well done you for drinking water at a party if I were stronger I might of lost this week instead of a gain :(

Bring on next week so this week I'm not the biggest loser as I gained but how has everyone else done did they manage to lose at all?

Week two weight is 70.3kg, bring on this week I WILL do this :)

Last week was good (lost more than expected on my deficit) but today wasn't a great start to a new week. I had a rich meal high in salt today, hence the extra water.

I had my knee operated on this week so I haven't been on MFP. Apart from when I was 'nil by mouth' I have had at least 1.5L of water a day. I'm not reporting weight as it won't be a true reflection due to meds and swelling etc etc.

I hope everyone has had a successful week and good luck for the new one.

My weight is exactly the same so far. But it's helpful because now I don't mindlessly grab another drink and snack. I also feel heaps better.

@zlouise8 This challenge is helping me be mindful about getting enough water. My weight loss isn't remarkable, but water doesn't determine that.

One reason I am trying to consistently stay hydrated is for my cholesterol. All my life, I let myself get chronically dehydrated, rarely drinking water during the day. I've had borderline high cholesterol for a few years. Heres an article about hydration & cholesterol.

    http://www.livestrong.com/article/509586-common-myths-about-water-consumption/

This summer, I dropped my overall chol from 237 (a year ago) to 220 (July 11) to 182=normal (Sept 6).

I increased water, eliminated 99% of added sugar, and lost a modest amt of weight. I also increased healthy fats, and I was already eating a mostly plant-based diet.

    @zlouise8
Since @zlouise8 I have been losing weight. I've gone from 146.6 to 139.8. The last 2 weeks my weight has gone up as I've had knee surgery and I'm not doing any exercise (mainly sleeping - spaced out on codeine).
Weight loss is anything but simple. It is so complex because for most of us food & drink are linked to our emotions.
When I got my brain in gear in July (seeing my heaviest recorded weight did that for me). I made some simple changes -
    - no snacking after 7.30 (actually been doing this since April - getting better at it each month)
    - no binge snacking on biscuits, crisps and chocolate during the day
    - smaller portions (I overeat on foods that I like)
    - in certain meals swapping carbs for more veggies
    - more water to keep hydrated
    - more movement
So this worked for me. I was losing about 0.5-1 lb a week. I only need to lose a stone (14lbs) so I'm happy. I would have liked to have stayed below 140 but my new aim (post surgery) is to try to stay below 142.
So @zlouise8 if your not losing you need to think of a couple of simple, easy to manage changes that you can put in place and stick to that will jump start your weight loss.
    Good luck

    It should read ....
Since July 25th I have been losing weight.

If you're interested here's my weight changes per round (from another challenge called ... 'just give me 10 days'. I weigh everyday and take an average for the 10 day round)

    R15 average = 140.16
    R14 average = 141.40
    R13 average = 141.88
    R12 average = 143.40
    R11 average = 145.18
    R10 average = 144.10
    R9 average = 143.48
    R8 average = 143.03
    R7 average = 143.16
    R6 average = 144.44
    R5 average = 143.64

This accounts for 100 days but as you can see it only started making a difference when I got my brain in gear in July.
