In Egypt, they stuff fries in the shawerma sandwiches. Enough said.2

I know it isn't a restaurant, but I prefer my homemade double fried french fries. Fry them at a low temp (325) for ten minutes then up the temp to 375-400 and fry for two to three to crisp them up. They make the best poutine you have ever had! I rarely eat french fries from a restaurant any more.0

A local pub here called Sal's makes the best fries I've had. I like really thick cut fries so I can taste the potato, but they have to also be very crispy. Not many places can do this well, but Sal can.0

Mcdonald's fries and Arby's curlies. Yummm2

McDonald's. If you want them fresh order them with no salt and add your own. They will drop a new batch since they are salted immediately after being fried unless they have an order for no salt.0

5 Guys because they're the closest chain approximation to real boardwalk fries around. They even have the malt vinegar.1

Awesome doesn't even cover it. There's this Palestinian shawerma spot here at the UMN that stuffs fries in them. Good enough to satisfy that fix every now and then!

There are several independents here in Chicago that do un-friggin-believable onion rings, but as far as fast food joints I would have to go with Sonic and probably Arby's. I have gone to the Drive Thru at Arby's for just onion rings before.
Lost of the casual dining chains do a version of the "bloomin onion" or "onion petals", but I have yet to encounter one that was not too over-seasoned for my taste.0
