Day 8 completed. Think my energy and enthusiasm for everything is all getting a bit much for my husband who is currently online looking as cycle computers to monitor the lunchtime bike rides he started to do a couple of days after I started the 30DS!
Got the weights about right - can really feel the burn and am struggling to complete the sets but can just push myself to do it. 2 more days on level 1 and then on to level 2 (where I am expecting to find a new level of pain!)
p.s forgot to add - lost another pound when I unofficially weighed in this morning. On Monday with officially weigh in and take measurements (I can compare to those taken before 30DS and will report back... that is if I haven't crashed from exhaustion and muscle fatigue after starting level 2!!!)0 -
Day 7 tonight. While I'm not hobbling around the house, I really felt the effects of Jillian on my run (long run today....10 miles...ouch). Part good, part bad, lol. I could feel some more strength in my muscles, but also fatigue in my back and arms (also a bit in my legs further towards the end). I've never felt fatigue in my back on a run....ever. Something is changing for sure!
Giving myself until tonight to recover from my run before putting myself through 30DS.0 -
starting again today, seemed to lose track this weekend. l1d1 here we go!0

DAY 10 LEVEL 1 completed. Still having to modify push ups and having had a sneak peek at Level 2 while eating breakfast I am not looking forward to tomorrow - I can see a lot of pain and falling flat on the carpet in my future!!! On day 1 I barely managed 60 crunches and today - day 10 - I did 104 and my shoulders actually lift right off the floor!!! No days missed and feeling great!
Officially weighed in this morning and have lost 2.75 lbs since day 1, plus 1/2 inch off my waist and 3/4 inch off my hips. Amazing results so far which is great motivation to hit Level 2 hard tomorrow.0 -
day 2 level 1 done this morning!! really felt it in my calfs, and i still cant do an unmodified push up!! my upper body strength is crap!! lol
Anyway how long did u do level 1 b4 starting level 2?? its jst i have always been pretty active and am used to alot of the moves as i have been doing a davina dvd plus i run every other morning!! Dont get me wrong i still sweat like hell while im doing it but feel i could do more!!
Maybe i shall do level 1 for 7days and see from there!!
loving the 30DS though its bloody brilliant!! :blushing:0 -
I had two days break this weekend since I was visiting my Mum for the weekend, but was back to work today - Day 6 (L1) done!! I think the rest did me good as I felt much stronger today!0

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forums. I usually just use my phone to track everything but decided to get on here whenever I have extra time. I first started the shred about a month ago. I hit a plateau when I started level 2, so I stopped for almost 2 weeks. I decided to get back into it about a week ago but I've been doing a different level everyday and I have had much better results!! I've lost 2 lbs. already and can definitely see a difference already. I'm sooo glad I decided to do it this way. It's tough but it keeps your body guessing. I recommend to try it this way after you've finished the 30 days. I hate level 2 but I love level 3 lol. Can't wait to keep up with everyone's progress0

Did L2D1 today. I cannot really say that I liked it! I dont think that the moves were that much harder, just odd. I burned about the same amount as I did at the end of level 1, so hope that will continue to go higher as it did in level 1. I really kinda felt like I was confused durning some of the moves and those stupid squat row V things, yuck! I think that 5 lb weights are ok for almost everything but that. My arms seemed to have really toned up during L1 so maybe they will improve even more during L2, Im already looking forward to L3, after day 1 already hating this one!0

I think after I've managed the first 30 days (doing the levels normally), I might try this method of alternating the levels for the next 30 days.0 -
Day 11: thats day 1 of level 2 completed! My arms struggled to hold me up so some of the exercises I collapsed less than half way into. More practice needed - it can only get better.0

Started the Shred again today.
I've pretty much got Jillian's little sayings memorized. Oh, Jillian.
I forgot how much you sweat! Looking forward to being done in 30 days.
I'm staying 10 days on each level. Although I do enjoy levels 1 and 3 the most, level 2 is awkward at some points.0 -
OMFG!! I have jst done level 2 and im only on my 4th day!! **** how hard is it?? im gonna be in some pain tomoz!! lmao0

I'm upto Day 9 today (2 days of Level 1 left)!! Anyone got any tips for going onto Level 2? What kind of exercises are in it?
Also does anyone find it annoying in the lunges section when Jillian says 'Just a couple more' and then it's still about 7 or 8 lunges to go!! Lately I've had the sound turn down and blast some music while doing it - makes it more fun!0 -
I just bought it a couple days ago. I think I'm going to start on Monday. I've used 2 of her other DVDs: No More Trouble Zones and Boost Your Metabolism. They were great.0

Haha. Yes! She always tricks me!0 -
Well I finally managed to do the unmodified push-ups today for the first time!!! I could only do a few of them each time (about 5) but so pleased I managed it!0
-
I took yesterday off because I was ill- spent the first half of the morning on the bathroom floor. Not pretty.
It's so easy to get out of the routine! I was so close to giving myself permission to skip tonight and just do double tomorrow, but then I realized I'll be on Day 10 of Level 1, meaning a new workout tomorrow! NO MORE SIDE LUNGES! Probably something worse, lol, but I've been getting bored with Level 1, so any change is welcome.0 -
Did Day 10/Level 1 last night. I'm wondering if I should stay at level 1 till I can do at least 1 complete rep of the unmodified pushups. So far I've only been able to do a max of 13 during the first rep. My form in the side lunges sucks as well. The first rep goes well but then come the 2nd rep I look like a dying fish flopping around.0

Day 17: I have done it 17 days straight now although I did have a bit of a wobble on day 14 (I was so exhausted, didn't feel well at all, that I quit after 5 mins  ) The amount of work in a plank position in level 2 has been killing me. I have very little upper body strength and I now wish I had pushed harder with the push-ups in level 1 (instead of sticking to the modified all the way through!) but I can see the light... I can now hold myself in plank for long enough to complete the other moves and stop when Jillian says so not when I collapse. 3 more days at level 2 then I'm moving up to level 3. I think once I have finished I will keep doing this but go back to level 1 and then change every day to the next level...
Lost a bit more weight and another 3/4 inch off my waist. My jiggly belly doesn't bounce so much during cardio. I am really looking forward to day 30 :happy:0 -
Just finished Level 2, Day 1. Holy. Cow. I know I got stronger during Level 1 and I hope it happens soon with this Level. I kept whining to my TV every time she said to get back in plank position, lol.0

I'm on day 9 of level 2 and I still whine at the TV every time another plank exercise comes up - although I must say I can now actually hold the plank position for the duration where on day 1 of level 2 I spent most of the time lying face down on the carpet!
Day 19: done and I can't believe I only have 1 day of level 2 left. Looking forward to something different (I think??!!)0 -
Tonight is Day 3 of Level 2! Definitely feeling the effects of all the planking in my shoulders. I feel like Level 2 is targeting slightly different muscle groups.
As for this level, I've decided I hate the walking push-ups. I'm reeeeeally inflexible in my legs, so I have to bend my knees a bit to get through it. Also, the oblique twists??? My form looks the same as theirs, but I don't feel it in my abs.
I haven't decided, but when I'm done with the Shred I think I might switch to No More Trouble Zones for awhile and then come back to the shred and do it 30 days through with the unmodified. I've taken it a bit easier by not doing the full moves, but I'm also trying to allow myself to have effective runs because my half is in just under 4 weeks. After that half I think I can kick it up a bit and not worry about it conflicting.
oh, and I did the plank jacks yesterday! I couldn't the first day, but I did last night!0 -
Im on day 3... I run 2 to 3.4 miles 2-3 times a week and was doing the Wii Fit exercises on the days I wasn't running. I thought this program would be super easy... I was wrong! the push ups, the squat and dumbell thing, and the slide lunge with raising the weights is incredibly difficult. Not to mention I HATE JUMPONG JACKS! I was WAY under prepared to start this program.0
-
Unfortunately having to take a break from 30DS as I have picked up a shoulder injury. Really gutted as the first two weeks have had such great results0
-
I'm on level 3 now .. - and I love it ! I did a double workout today because I was too lazy to do it yesterday. So day 10 level 2 + day 1 level 3. And it was awkward to say that I had the feeling Level 3 was much more easier than level 2.
I've already lost 10 inches of my belly & jillian is damn motivating but sometimes I really do want to punch her in the face for doing all the exercises & talking as if she were doing nothing!0 -
