Desperately needed jeans that fit and did not want to pay Lane Bryant prices. Most department stores where I live only go up to size 24 and I was a tight size 28 at my heaviest. Today, I decided to check out Kohl, just to see if they had jeans that would fit. I hesitantly grabbed a pair (size 24) and tried them on. They FIT! I honestly jumped up and down in the dressing room for a second. It feels great to be able to shop at department stores for clothes! I also bought a much needed bra that was 2 band sizes smaller!52

Met my goal of running 3 miles in 30 minutes tonight, a full week before my goal date. I wasn't even trying all that hard - I was working for it, obviously, but nowhere near as hard as I expected to need to.19

I fit into jeans I haven't worn in years! They are still a little snug but it's better than having to pull them up everytime I breathe, even with a belt.17

I woke up this morning and didn't feel like going for my run. I thought about how bad it could really be if I skipped it, and didn't get up and get dressed to go until my husband said "I know you don't feel like going, but you always feel better when you do." So I took those first hard steps out the front door. I'm so glad I did because not only do I feel better now, but I ran the first mile of my run in 7:39!! And then kept up the next three at a 9:20 pace! I can't believe it really, I started running two years ago and have never thought I would do better than the middle of the pack. Not to mention that I think the fastest mile I ever ran in gym class was about 11:45.29

I ran a 10k this am: finished in 53:12 & took 3rd in my new age group (50-54). Mighty pleased29

After reading through this thread for months (I am currently on page 493) and getting a LOT of inspiration by all of those who have the courage to post, I am finally ready (and happy!) to report my own Non-Scale and Scale Victories. Today I logged for 255 days in a row (and was logging my food for most of those days with the exception of vacation trip to Europe). Hard work during those 255 days (food and exercise) yielded the amazing 60 lb loss (as of today).
I can't be happier with the MFP program, ability and ease of tracking CICO, and the improvements in my looks and fitness levels! I am being inspired by the community here and feel stronger than ever that I do that, that my outside will finally match how I feel inside. Thank you everyone for sharing your stories, struggles and victories, those postings help a lot of people like me!40 -
I rode 6 miles on my stationary bike last night without trying. I have been riding thirty minutes a day for only a week, last Saturday (not yesterday) was my first day and I think I rode maybe barely four miles.
I'm getting hot foot though on my rides, even though they are short, so I'm thinking of getting bike shoes. That's a sentence I never thought I would type and an NSV in itself. Since I only ride indoors for the foreseeable future a pair should last me forever.18 -
6 months ago I was a size 16 in pants, yesterday I tried on 2 pairs of my size 9's that I used to wear before my last 2 pregnancies and they FIT!!!32

I'm actually enjoying shopping for clothes. Went from size 40 waist to 38 to 36, then ordered Gap jeans and pants on sale online size 35. Whoops too big. Exchanged for size 34. And these seem kinda roomy. Might look into "skinny" or "slim" fits next time I drop a size. Mind blown.22

Fit into the jeans I had set aside for a mini goal. I wanted them to fit and be comfortable by the end of Oct. I'm a month early!27

Ran a 5k race this morning (first nsv). Came second in my age category (second nsv).32

I GOT HIT ON! By a gorgeous man, too. I havent experience this in years. A temp construction worker went out and asked if I wanted a coffee (cream, no sugar ) and brought it back. Didnt notice the inscription until after he left. Made my day. Now, I'm married and all, but doesnt mean I wasnt extremely flattered.49 -
Daft things this week, really. But I've always bought the same brand of sports bra (decreasing sizes) & have always wanted to buy the matching underwear. Sadly they only went up to a UK size 16 which was totally beyond me. Currently rocking them!
Finally told my Mam who lives in the other end of the country (so we don't see eachother often enough ) what I was doing. Took a photo for her of me in a dress I bought for a school dance aged 16. Don't know why I kept it but it was really satisfying to put it on! It's also a size 16 & *gulp* 18 years old(From Etam haha..does that even exist anymore fellow UKers?!). She was so supportive & happy... That made me happy!34 -
Dumped the rest of the gelato in the sink this morning, knowing if it stayed in the freezer I would succumb....34

I bought a new pair of jeans this weekend and found that I was in a size 24W - which I haven't worn since college at least 14 years ago. When I started MFP back in January, I was wearing a 30W, so I was thrilled! Now lets see if I can get myself into 22's before the new year.......47

Met up with friends who we see on a fairly regular basis this weekend and was told I look skinny. (For reference, I'm 5' 6.5" and 154 pounds.) It made my day, and I'm still 14 pounds away from my goal weight. (And this is related to the scale, but my BMI has dropped into the normal range.)28

A few NSVs for me -
1. My DH started using MFP on his own without my pushing him or reminding him. Omg, I am so tremendously excited to see him progress on his journey to better health and so proud of him for doing it the right way.
2. Completed my first 50k - pulled a muscle in my knee around mile 2, but I kept going for 29 more miles. Finished in 8 hours and 48 minutes.
3. My pup joined me for his first 5k! All the training paid off - he was well behaved and didn't succumb to distractions on the trail. We averaged less than 10 min/mile once we pulled away from the crowd at the starting line.
4. I've been pretty good with managing maintenance since I hit my target weight late last year but kinda bummed that I haven't seen any real progress for recomp - my clothes fit the same and measurements are the same, though I average 3 lbs more than I did when I started maintenance. My DH mentioned that he noticed a difference. Went and took a picture of my abs then did a side by side comparison - sure enough he was right! Subtle, but yeah. I am starting to see my abs tighten up a little.

did a double take coming out of gym this morning. I had my hair cut Saturday and while walking past gym mirror I had to look again as I didn't think it was me! only slightly shorter hair but it frames my face differently, and makes the weightloss in my face more noticeable.
odd but good!25 -

She obviously knows a good look when she sees one!9 -
Love this thread! I recently had a really cool one.
My husband mistook my new jeans for my 13 year old daughter's. We're actually several sizes apart, but he's never made that mistake before.23 -
I coworker just said "you've got a lot of sass for such a tiny body"
My body is by no means tiny, and she's just being sassy but YAY!!!31 -
Well the scale is up but my NSV for the last couple of weekends, was running a 14k trail race which had killer hills on them and a 10k road race. Pleased with how well I did considering I did not train this summer at all and was up 12 lbs.
This will help motivate me to now work on the scale side of things.19 -
Shopping today and found the cutest shorts on clearance. They were a size 2! A little snug but I figured they will be perfect when I lose these last 10 pounds. My DH said they fit perfect and showed off my slim figure!
NSV #2 today is what I call "side bonus" of my new way of eating. DH is now who wearing a 34 waist pants! Down from a 38. I have never seen him in this size. He's been eating smaller portions and less fat plus we have both been more active with the weight loss.26 -
I just remembered that I used to walk to the Zombies, Run! app a few years ago when I was trying tj get ivy the habit of going to the gym. The gym habit didn't take and I forgot about the app (I started walking with my husband and it's rude to listen to your phone when the other party isn't I I).
I just remembered it today, and downloaded it. I'm done with my workout today, but I'm super excited about going on my stationary bike tomorrow. (THEY don't know I bike instead of run.
My bad knee is unpredictable, sometimes it hurts after less than an mile. Sometimes I can walk three miles with no pain. I had a tendon moved four years ago, and the problem in my knee is mechanical. I have to live with it. I am doing strengthing exercises to build muscle (as much as you can on deficit) in my legs, in case that helps, but that can only do so much. But I can use a stationary bike just fine.
They also do virtual 5Ks and I'm going to sign up for one this next year. I can probably split up the 5K into two days if my knee doesn't cooperate, unlike a traditional 5K. And since you're competing with yourself it doesn't matter how slow you go!
I really think I'm starting to like exercise. I've been riding daily for 8 days now, and I find myself looking forward to sweating. I need to add strength training in, but I need to be careful not to make my distasis recti worse.17 -
Add me to the list of people who have shifted from obese to overweight on the BMI chart!47

Got rid of what felt like an entire wardrobe of bigger clothes. Just to make sure I won't regain. Bc if I have the clothes it doesn't matter. But now I need to lose/maintain to not be naked unless I want to spend money, which I dont23

At my heaviest, one load of jeans that fit in the washer was 4 pair. Now I have to wash them with someone else's benefits I don't own enough jeans to even make a full load.. But I think it would take somewhere around 10 pair.23

Just ordered my first pair of pants in a misses size - and they fit!! I've been buying plus size pants for about 20 years.26

I have a few NSVs.
1.Today I had to get my car repaired and instead of taking the offered ride home, I walked the 1+mile. Then did it again later in the day to pick it up.
2.My co-workers thought they were being nice and left me a full bag of Lindor Assorted Chocolates. I have absolutely no interest in them. Last year at this time, I would've eaten about 10 of them in one sitting.
3. All of my size L scrub tops are too big and forget the pants, they have to go.
4. Was called in to do an OR case and my (X-ray) lead apron is so big on me now that I can no longer wear it and can use the designated OR aprons.
5. Finally, ALL of my long sleeved tops are too big. I had to toss/donate all of them. Now I have 1 brand new shirt. Time to get some more.30
