I try to remember to put the seat back down if I'm working with women.

Good on you, but don't you have separate toilets for men and women where you work?

I arrive at my desk at 9:05 EST and I leave my desk at 4:55 EST. I have my headphones in all day. I don't eat, I don't speak, I don't even do any work. I sure as hell don't urinate or defecate.

Assuming that was meant to be sarcasm. But if you're working 9:00 til 5:00, arriving at 9:05 means there are people there before you, and you'd be expected to say Hello or Good Morning when you come in. When you leave 5 minutes early, there are still others there, so you'd be expected to say Goodbye or Good Evening as you pass them on the way out.

    tony are you an accountant?

He's just very concerned about everyone's bathroom greeting habits

The original topic is about "bathroom greeting habits" but hellvee seems to be saying he doesn't even interact with anyone else around his desk!!

I'm very concerned for a lot of you.

I usually avert eye contact. I try really hard to not think about it...thanks, because now that is all I can think about!

Since you brought it up tho I think about their hygiene mostly, if they wash their hands properly, if not what they are touching around the office that I may touch, where their hands have been. Toilet handles and taps...gross.

My answer isn't based on gender even tho your question was.

    Dang straight it was!

    How do you know!

    I work with all women.

Is a gym-like shower facility at your work? Please tell me there is!

ok sure...of course there is!

I have never felt uncomfortable before until I read this thread. Today was uncomfortable and avoided eye contact with any men going or coming from the men's room. Thank you for that OP
