Keep in mind that I was also half your current weight when I started calorie counting and paying attention to my macros so needed a lot less calories to begin with.
Carbs do not make you gain weight, nor do they stop you from losing weight. The only thing that will cause weight loss is eating at a deficit and any personal trainer or nutritionists is lying if they tell you otherwise. The only reason LCHF works for some is that they find these ratios to be the best for satiety which makes it much easier to stay within a calorie deficit. Others need more fibre from carbs to achieve the same affect.
If you please could explain a bit for me what the calories deficit is it would be much appreciated cz i know nothing about it. And my macros was a lot higher it was 300 grams of carbs and 75 grams of fat. That's way more
Your BMR or basal metabolic rate are the amount of calories needed a day just to survive ie lying in bed all day doing nothing. Yours is around 2500 calories. As I am a female, am much shorter and weigh considerably less mine is only around 1400.
MFP uses NEAT (Non-exercise activity thermogenesis) with calculations. This is how many calories you burn without intentional exercise. This is what your activity level is all about. The more active you are in your day to day life, the more calories you burn. If your job was a gardener you would burn more calories than someone who is an office worker. MFP has calculated your NEAT as being 3300 calories. To lose 1 kilo a week you need a deficit of around 1000 calories a day which is why you have 2300 calories a day as your goal.
TDEE, or total daily energy expenditure, is how many calories a day you burn all up. This is your NEAT plus any intentional exercise you do. If you do additional exercise it should be included, and you should eat those exercise calories back because your deficit has been calculated into your NEAT already.
By the way the reason why you would get 300 grams while I was at 150 grams of carbs is because 40% of 2300 is much higher than 40% of 1200.
Woow i never knew about this information so the reason they put 2300 calories a day is because the body burns 300 calories a day that means if i eat the 2300 calories it'd be considered as 700 and if i do exercises like burn 500 calories that'd be burning 3500 calories everyday? Wow that's great
I burn like 560 calories a day by moving and walking1 -
YES. Eating well & healthily doesn't have to be torture. You can eat food, not starve yourself, and lose weight -- that's something a lot of people never realize.1

To lose weight, you need to consistently eat less (fewer calories) than you burn. You burn around 3000-3500 calories per day. To be healthy physically, you need to eat enough, but not too much - fat, protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals - and move your body. To be healthy mentally, you need to eat in a way you like and makes you feel good, and have fun.
You can take your calories in any way you like. It's smart to get in a minimum of fat and protein. 1.2 grams of per kilo of bodyweight at a healthy weight is a good minimum for protein; don't be afraid to go over, but try to not go over your calories. 80-100 grams of fat is also a good goal. But hitting those numbers are just means to the end: A consistent calorie deficit.
I consider myself as a light active person i mean not lazy and not really active. So i don't think that i burn 3000-3500 that's why i'm eating less i just wonna lose the weight i'm sick of it.
And yes MFP shows that i should eat around 300 grams of carbs, 120 grams of protein and 75 grams of fat. But if you check and ask personal trainers and nutritions they'll tell you to eat less carbs like rice, bread and pasta. And of course less fats like chicken skin..
MFP has a default macro split that is okay, but best suited for maintenance. The easiest macro to cut from, is, generally, carbs. PTs have their own agendas and nutritionists are not educated as dieticians. A balanced diet is important for good health, you have to stick to your diet for a long, long time, and not go wild when you're done (or "done"), and there is nothing wrong with carbs and fat - what's wrong, is overeating. You have been overeating for a long time. Now you are trying to undereat to counteract. It doesn't work like that. You don't drive your car from side to side on the road, do you? (I hope not!) You have stick to your lane, and you need time to regain a healthy weight.
I know nothing about weight and body tbh so how does the body burn 3000 calories without any exercise?
And yes that's right i lost 2 kg of fat and 4 KG of muscles last month. I have 85 KG of muscles in my body. The macro in this app was wrong so i changed it manully to 40% protein 35% carbs and 25% fat (i don't eat all of that) so yeah and *kitten* alot of carbs.
I know that's it's not going to be easy to lose another 20 KG but i'm doing my best i just wonna get to 100 KG to start doing weight lifts and get a nice body
I wouldn't take those numbers of your body composition for granted, but they do indicate that you are wrecking havoc on your health.
The macros aren't "wrong" (you say you don't konw anything about body and weight so how would you know if those numbers were wrong?) - but they may be less than ideal for you at your current weight. Going from default to something extreme, without knowing what you are doing and why, is not a terribly good idea. You need to take care of your body if you want it to last. You do that by feeding yourself sensibly. Not by punishing yourself. You are NOT going to reach 100 kilos, and certainly not be able to lift weights (maybe not even a toothbrush) if you carry on like you are now.
Thank you very much i didn't know about that. That's a good thing the body burns 3000 calories a day.
That's right i know nothing but why do i need to eat 300 grams of carbs as MFP is showing? Don't you think that is wrong for a person who wants to lose weight? And yeah i didn't say in the comment before that i don't feel any changes in my body

Sometimes i feel hungry but tbh most my days i don't cz i go to uni at 8:30 i don't time to eat breakfast so i just eat dinner when i come back at 5:00 cz i don't eat at uni it's hard to find healthy food there.
- I usually eat 200 grams smoked ham leg which is healthy.
- 200 grams of grilled chicken breast.
- 500 grams of salad with 3 tbsp of viniger.
- 200 grams of white fillet fish.
- seeds
So yeah this kind of food which is healthy
Losing the weight is driving me crazy tbh i doing bad things just to lose the weight
is that all you're going to eat for the rest of your life?
if not i would work on eating a more balanced diet that is sustainable.
Of course not but i thought eat this kind of food at least till i get to my goal which is 100 KG and then i'll start having more foods and shakes when i start doing weight lifts and exercise more i'll have more choices cz i'll be burning more calories0 -

Tbh sometimes i starve myself and i know that's wrong.
It's true that my weight is 121 KG but i don't look fat cz i'm 189 Cm so that's helping me nor to look too fatc but i just wonna get fit0 -

How much your body needs and burns depends on your unique situation and cant be judged or advise by people who don't know your specific medical history. For example, you may or may not have a metabolic related issue affecting how your body burns carbs or calories. Even without a Dx of Hypothyroid or any other of the host of issues than can affect you metabolism, your Thermogenesis may not be the national average figured into the MFP calculations. There are so many genetic and health issues that make you uniquely you.

Research by using medical study directed material, so you can make up your own mind on what you feel is accurate and healthy for you, your life style and way of thinking. Many people on MFP blogs are passionate about THEIR WAY OF THINKING and what works for them and their mind set may not agree with you, which is OK.
My Analogy: There are thousands of highly qualified Oncologist in the US. Some graduating from the same schools as their colleagues. Yet, presented with the same patient and provided with the same information, there will be disagreement on how a cancer should be treated. If Providers dealing with these serious life threatening issues can not agree on treatment options...how can there be one best answer for a person seeking diet advice?
I have researched and picked the way that works for me and my unique needs and it happens to be low in carbs...I don't starve, feel hungry and my blood panels consistently reflect stats that place me in categories half my age. My LDL/HDL are so outstanding I have less than .003 percent chance of developing heart disease in the next 10 years... Low carb is contrary to many of the passionate people on MFP, but for me and my unique body, proof is in my medical record facts. I don't know if low carb is right for you but there is a way to go about a low carb plan. If this is something that appeals to your situation, do online research with various medical related data. Check out a Keto or Low Carb calculator which helps you determine Macro's, which you can manually set in MFP. There is also a MFP community that subscribes to low cab.
Above all, take your knowledge of your unique body and apply it to research for all options to make the most informed decision you can. Fitness and weight management is not a one size fits all situation. Advise and judgment on your choices are rooted in what works for the provider of the responder and may not apply to you.8 -
I'm a woman, 5'8", 175 pounds and I'm eating 150g of carbs a day. I had my macros calculated by a professional and I am losing on that amount of carbs. I also work out 6 days a week. IMO, you need more carbs. Like someone said you need to be able to eat like this for the rest of your life. Will you be able to keep that carb limit that low forever?2
-
The thing with carbs is that a lot of people don't find certain types of carbs very filling - bread being an especially common culprit - and so it can be very easy to overeat them because your body doesn't tell you that you're full. You will gain the same amount of weight eating 500 calories of pasta as you would eating 500 calories of lettuce, except that most people won't eat 500 calories of lettuce because it's so filling. So you don't have to be afraid of carbs, but you should pay attention to what sorts of foods fill you up and what sorts leave you wanting more. It's not a bad idea to be cautious about foods that you are prone to overeating, but that doesn't mean you have to stop eating them all together.
Low carb diets do help many people lose weight, but only because they were eating too many calories and cutting out or down on carbs put them into a deficit. But these diets can be tricky because when you're depriving yourself of something you enjoy, you run the risk of "falling off the wagon" and binging on those foods, or else regaining the weight you lost when you reach your goal weight and go back to eating whatever you've been restricting without cutting back on something else.4 -

You don't have to do anything (not without context). To lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories than you burn. You can eat 300 grams carbs and lose weight, if your total calorie intake consistently is below (say) 3000.
Of course not but i thought eat this kind of food at least till i get to my goal which is 100 KG and then i'll start having more foods and shakes when i start doing weight lifts and exercise more i'll have more choices cz i'll be burning more calories
Start to eat the foods you like NOW, and figure out how to work them into your calories & macros. You'll be learning how to eat a balanced diet. You won't start craving something you really like but have told yourself you can't have -- most people seem to do that. Build in the things you like now, and then when you get to goal you'll have less of a chance to go crazy with the foods you've missed.1 -

carbs dont make you gain weight. excess calories do.
Yup, carbs have nothing to do with weight gain. Calories have everything to do with weight gain.2 -

I hate to break it to you, but it's very likely that you'll be burning fewer calories then, not more, unless you suddenly start doing truly massive amounts of exercise.
Smaller bodies burn fewer calories. When smaller, you'll burn fewer calories just bring alive (BMR) compared to now, and your same daily routibe will burn fewer calories (NEAT) because it's less work to move a smaller body around. Your 60 minute walk, or any other exercise, will burn fewer calories than now, for the same reason.
Furthermore, exercise burns fewer calories than a lot of people think. You have to do lots of it to burn many calories. Weight lifting burns truly trivial amounts of calories. Unless you want to start devoting large chunks of time to exercise that you for some reason can't or won't devote now, drop the idea that you'll be able to eat many more calories when you "get there".
You'll be able to eat the calories that make up your then-current deficit, because you won't need to lose more weight, but that's about it.
Like others_have said:- Use the weight loss process to learn to eat in a sensible, sustainable healthy way that you can continue forever to keep a healthy weight permanently
- Start strength training now, if you plan ever to do it
- Find an overall exercise routine you enjoy, that you can keep up forever
- Don't fear eating carbs or fats, just eat a balanced diet, making sure to get enough protein, fats and healthy veggies, within (not far below) your calorie goal,
focusing on foods you enjoy, that keep you full and happy . . . and have a few treats, too.
Best wishes!5 -

I dunno but i asked lots of people and did research and it shows that if you eat less carbs you'll loss weight
yes, water weight. which lasts about a week, after that unless you're in a deficit you wont.
So if cutting carbs makes you lose the water in your body, what makes you lose fat? Few months ago i lost 6 kilos in one month just because i ate like 1000 calories a day.
calorie deficit.
Tbh i dunno exactly what calorie deficit is but i checked it on google and what i understood is that i have to do more physical work to burn more calories? Like it has to be more than what i take in?
Calorie deficit means that you eat fewer calories than you burn. You, Tariq_1997, burn about 3000 calories a day just sitting around doing nothing. Eating 2300 calories a day -- the number MFP gave you -- leaves you with a 700 calorie deficit. When you move around or exercise, you burn more calories than 3000, and your deficit goes up. But eating fewer calories than 2300 to get a bigger deficit doesn't work well forever. It's not sustainable to lose 6 kilos in one month; your body won't give up fat that easily and it won't keep happening that way.
I didn't know that naturally without doing any exercises the body burns 3000 calories :-/
And the the MFP gave me 2300 calories to eat. I spoke to my doctor and he said to me to eat more than that but cut carbs or eat less especially bread, rice and pasta. And that's for explaining, feel free to add me people like you are needed in my life.
Thanks :-)
I haven't read all the way through yet, so not sure if anyone else addressed this, but YOUR body as it is RIGHT NOW, burns 3000 calories a day. As you weigh less, age, weigh more, etc, that number changes.3 -
