Quest Bars

Getting 21 grams of protein and 14 grams of fiber from a 180 calorie Quest bar is pretty reasonable. A candy bar with 200+ calories will have less than 2g of protein( and 40 grams of sugar), so you would have to eat 10 of them to get the same amount of protein, perhaps not the best use of 2,000 calories.10 -

I think they taste like chemicals. Any thoughts?
Used to love them and now they taste like crap to me. Fake flavor and odd after taste. Go for Oh Yeah ONE Bars instead.3 -
I bought some because they're one of the few protein/energy bars that don't contain soy, which I can't eat. They really don't taste very good so there they sit.
I'm still looking for a good soy-free protein bar. Any suggestions?1 -
Recently reformulated their bars (again). Definitely improving. I'll always be loyal to Quest haha.0

I had a Quest cookies and cream for the first time today. Not too bad. Tasted very much like the Smores one.0

The kind bar nuts and spices line has been my kick lately because they only have 5grams of sugar! I don't count my sugars either but it's still nice to know!

I can get more protein for fewer calories from protein powder and I'm not really trying to set a record for fiber (I already get enough). I just feel as far as candy goes, they're too expensive money and calorie wise for what I get out of them. I would rather leave protein out of candy than settle for inferior calories.
I consider calories I don't enjoy a waste of calories. I can get things that have better flavor for fewer calories, or even things that have more calories but as so tasty they are worth it, and I can get more nutrition for the same amount of calories. I know I can definitely get more flavor/nutrition for a cheaper money price. Protein bars (at least the ones I've tried) fall into the realm of cauliflower pizza and non-fat hard cheese: a failed attempt at replacing something superior. Some feel the compromise is worth it (and may even actually enjoy them) which is up to preference and how people judge the worth of something, but I don't. Just like I consider skim milk a worthy replacement in some applications, but some can't stand it.0 -
I like the Chocolate Chunk Quest Bar. This flavor doesn't have sucralose.
I only like them if I take tiny bites, like the size of an M&M. That's actually how I eat any protein bar, otherwise they're too dense for me.1 -
I like them because they get the job done. There are many things that I would rather eat than a Quest bar, but I rely on protein bars frequently due to a crazy work environment. On a normal day, I'll eat 1 in the morning. On an exceptionally busy day, I'll eat up to 3 to keep myself going until I can get some real food. Some of my favorite flavors -
blueberry muffin
peanut butter and jelly
cookies and cream
smores0 -
Agree.. I thought id try the dmore one the other day. Blech!1
-
I like pure protein chocolate peanut butter and the pb think thin ones.1
-
Agree, quest bars are gross. Optimum nutrition cake bites are delicious but not low carb.3
-
I like the cookie dough Quest bars. I haven't tried that many different flavors, but I think it was double chocolate chunk and maybe chocolate brownie? They weren't great either.1
-
I have a Quest Bar every day.
My favorite flavors are Chocolate Brownie and Peanut Butter Supreme.
I like either of those better than a Snickers Bar or Reese's Peanut Butter Cup--the only "candy bars" I really like!

I like them for the most part, but I pretty much like anything so that doesn't say much. The lemon Meringue pie quest bar was the first thing I have eaten in a VERY long time that I took two bites of (2nd just to make sure) Then threw it away, and that's saying something. But I like all of the other ones I have tried, and their protein chips too.1

I certainly don't think they're anything special...certainly don't live up to the hype they seem to get. Not sure why you're really wanting to like them though.0 -

Same. The only one I can still tolerate in the mint chocolate one because the mint masks the chemical taste.0 -
Taste is tolerable, especially cookie dough which I almost "like." Of the off-the- shelf widely available stuff around here, they have the best stats for what I am looking for.
Someone mentioned Cliff. They are one of my favorites tastewise, but the carbs/cals are through the roof. A rare yeast for me and only if I know I am training really hard or competing that date.1 -

One more vote for Oh Yeah ONE bars. High protein, lots of flavor options. The pumpkin pie and almond bliss flavors are two favorites.

I am another vote for optimum nutrition cake bites, they recently came out with a chocolate covered donut flavor that is so good!0
-
Kind bars are good. I also really like Santa Barbara bars as well.0

Where do you get these?

There are a few I like/tolerate. My go tos: Cinnamon roll, Coconut nut (I think that's what it's called), Oatmeal chocolate chip, blueberry muffin, choc PB....0

If you have a local supplements store, I'd check there. I'm not sure if GNC carries them. The 7/11s around me have them.0 -
I really like white chocolate raspberry Quest. I put it in the dash of the car while I'm working out, come out of the gym to find it perfectly warm and ready to eat. Yum!1
-
I'm a big fan as well... had the oatmeal chocolate chip for breakfast today. I also like the blueberry muffin and the chocolate cookie dough.

I know the GNC's around me (Western NY) carry them!0 -

Yeah, that one's my favorite. I also like the PBJ, Apple Pie and Vanilla Almond. The "traditional" chocolate flavors do not agree with me. At all.0 -
I haven't liked any of the ones that I've tried. My fav is the ONE bars.1
-
I like maybe about half the flavors. I usually get Pure Protein bars though. Same amount of protein and calories (but not as much fiber if that's important to you) for about half the price.1
