She gave me a strange look (because there are women's clothes everywhere) and said, "right here, and there, and around that wall and across the aisle" (I totally get why she looked at me like I was crazy asking!). So I realized I needed to clarify - I said, "I love that you think I'm looking for regular sizes but I need the plus size section." To which she responded, "I don't think so, but if you insist, it's way back over there." I'm most definitely still a 1x/18 but it was exciting for her to point me to the direction of the "regular" sizes. Bonus - I had a $12 off coupon AND a 30% off coupon.
I cried the day I actually bought my first item of clothing from the REGULAR WOMENS Department.29 -

While I didn't cry, being able to buy clothes at Costco was a big deal to me. I think my wife nearly cried though.
Now the pants I bought are too big.

It's gettting increasingly harder to pack up my ex's clothes, because the more I lose, the more of them fit me!11

In June I was wearing my belts at the biggest rung... now I’m on the smallest rung and it’s getting too big. I need new belts!18

My first round of Insanity Max:30 back in March I felt like I was going to die after every workout. Now, twice this week, after I did my 30 minutes (the strength ones, not the cardio ones) I was also able to do a 15 to 20 minute HIIT workout WITH my 12lb weighted vest. It makes me feel so powerful.17

Going to Wendy's and getting a six-piece chicken nugget and a small fry. Fat me would've smashed a ten-piece and a medium fry. What I got was just enough.31

Me too!! I guess I have a NSV too! I went to an 8 year old party and didn’t pig out like I usually do! I usually taste everything and start eating early on...and then eat too much... this time I waited a long time to eat, declined the wine.....drank 3 or 4 bottles of water, had a few small crackers with cheese, and chicken teriyaki on a stick, and counted it all to the best of my ability! And I skipped the cake and cupcakes and ice cream! And I don’t feel deprived! And I looked cute! I’ve been working out (I think I’m up to day 78 on my 100 days straight challenge) and back to counting calories and controlling my intake for a while now-
That’s multiple NSVs!!!22 -
Earlier today, I was telling my roommate about a frustrating pair of underwear I own that always seems large and accommodating, but has very tight elastic that muffin tops me. And now that they elastic finally fits my hips, the back side is super droopy. He seemed confused, so I opted to just turn around to show him and...I mooned him instead. Turns out the elastic and my leggings are also droopy.26

I've had a really rough two weeks - flu shot made my arm hurt for two days and I felt terrible, then had a lupus flare, then got a fever and sore throat, then hurt my knee, then had minor surgery - which kept me out of the gym for a while. It's just been one thing and then another.
My NSV is that not being able to work out drove me absolutely nuts! And I got to go back tonight. I've lost a little ground due to injuries and not lifting for several days, but I finished my workout and I'm back. Old me was pretty good at keeping good habits when I had momentum but if I ever lost momentum, I would come to a stop. Apart from the day after my surgery when I ate at maintenance I've stayed under my calories, and apart from the day I had a 102 fever I've done something active every day, even when my body wasn't cooperating. This is huge for me, because in the past, I've been successful at losing weight, but then my health issues would flare up, and I was never successful at keeping the weight off during a health crisis. My biggest fear is losing all the hard work I've done due to circumstances outside my control. It's inevitable that I'll have a lupus flare at some point, and be unable to do some of the things I've been doing. But I'm more hopeful now that I'll be able to cope with that situation when it arises without regaining all the weight I've lost.40 -
A coworker yesterday asked me what my food restrictions are on the AIP. I checked off what I couldn't eat, and she said, "Wow, that's a lot of meat." Which is true, I can't have any plant based protein without feeling utter agony. So I was curious, and calculated how many servings of fruit and vegetables I ate yesterday. Not counting the vegetables in my kofta or the jute leaves dish I made, I guestimated it to be 1354.96 grams! Way more than the UK recommendation.12

I saw a movie and got lunch with my dad the other day. Couple of NSVs here:
- As soon as my dad saw me, he exclaaimed "Damn, when did you get so skinny?" I told him i still got more to lose.
- He kept offering to buy popcorn and ice cream for snack, and i kept declining since i brought my own healthy snacks.
- we went to red robin for lunch and i got a protein style chicken sandwich with broccoli. They brought out fries by accident and i didnt eat a single one.
- my dad encouraged me to stay on my diet and said i inspired him to start losing weight again too
These are huge for me because my dad and i tend to have a strained relationship in which he criticizes everything i do, even if it's working for me. It's rare to receive praise from him and even more rare for me to inspire him into anything.53 -
Today I’m not having a great day. I have a sick toddler and it’s day one of my TOM. Not only are my cramps unbelievable today, but my 2 year old woke up with a fever saying her mouth hurt. I took her to urgent care because I didn’t want to wait until tomorrow for the doctors office. Luckily I did because she has strep throat. On my way home from urgent care, I was hungry for lunch. I wanted to get fast food because I knew once I got home I wouldn’t feel like making myself lunch because of my cramps, fatigue and a needy toddler who likes to be held A LOT when she’s sick. However, I told myself no! I had leftover cabbage casserole at home that I made for easy lunches for myself. It didn’t sound as good as fast food at the time but once I started eating it, it was delicious and I’m so glad I ate that instead of fast food. Normally I would’ve thought I “deserved” fast food because of how my day was going, but I realized that my body “deserves” better than fast food!!53

Been struggling to get out on the bike recently, what with the weather, family and the junk of life!
It got to 4.45pm today and I really wanted to go out on the bike. Desperately, in fact. The wind has been a nightmare recently and I wasn't too sure if I'd get very far but I went anyway. Headwind for 10 miles. Then a crosswind for 5 miles. Then this:
The most amazing sunset ever. I stopped and watched it, it went from yellow to orange - but the orange went over the sun so that there was just a spot of yellow left towards the top (but not right at the top). The photo doesn't do justice to what I saw but that's a crappy phone camera for you.
That really made my day. Made the hard ride worth every second. I didn't even care about the speed I reached going down my steep hill. I was, y'know, "Whatever...." (please don't tell me that means I'm growing up!)
Next time I'm taking a decent camera with me. Maybe I'll get a pic of the local buzzard as well - until I saw one sat on a post today, I had no idea how big they are.41 -
Ran 6.6 km and only stopped because I was back home and had other things I needed to do. I was barely tired!28

Had to use a leather punch to punch three new holes into my belt to make it hold my pants up. I used to not even be able to buckle it without some serious sucking in the belly.35 -
Ran 3.5 miles in Central Park. I haven't ran in many months now, so I was very surprised at how far I got! I want to enjoy the part for as long as I can before it gets too cold!30
