hey bethany... gastric patient here.. its important u mentally get over slider foods now.. cakes.. cookies, chips, etc.. all the stuff that doesnt fill us up but just slides right on in.. i say this because they are all slider foods after surgery and are much easier to eat. its almost impossible to eat a few ounces of chicken and sauteed kale and squash. but you'll still be able to eat half of a cake in one sitting.. and this is why weight loss surgery patients not only never meet goal but end up bigger than before. real food will make u uncomfortable and make u stop eating which is the point of the surgery but junk causes little to no discomfort and is easily turned to. plus you;ll get tired of cooking whole meals and only being able to eat a few bites so many days its just easier to eat a family size bag of chips..
anyways i say all this so u can do the mental work now so u dont end up a failure later. be aware of ur issues with food that got u in this situation and deal and rectify them now..
im 2.5 yrs out btw.. 324-180lbs.. and trying to get lower..7 -
Thank you! Yes I am aware, I’ve now started my 5 small meals a day, and only eating 10 oz at a time. Just trying to get my body and mind use to it. Add me! Good job!1

How did you got to that stage?0

Unsure on any advice but I wish you all luck and I hope this app helps in your journey!0

Don’t eat it! Do NOT give in!!! You know that an hour after you’ve eaten the chocolate cake you will regret it anyway. Mentally focus on achieving your goal - imagine how you will feel after hitting your goal — and compare that to how bad you’ll feel after you’ve eaten the chocolate cake. You need to trade the short-term pleasure (which only lasts while you’re eating) of the sugar with the long-term pleasure of achieving your weight loss goal! Good luck.1

I've always wondered why people who prove they can lose weight go on through with the surgery.4

It is not a shirt to prevent heartburn. Imagine, if you will, an empty stomach. Now, imagine, a sheet of rubber.
Wrap the rubber around the empty stomach and glue two ends of the rubber sheet together to form a tube snugly enclosing the empty stomach. Sew up the patient and warn the patient to eat small portions as the stomach can no longer expand to accommodate big meals. That's a gastric sleeve.0 -

Wow. Thanks.
Very interesting procedure. The only problem is it doesn't tackle the cause of the overeating.0
