It's been another low week, which I was surprised about. My new no sugar/gluten/alcohol/caffeine/soy diet is strange. It's high in protein and fat with plenty of complex carbs so I'm always feeling full but I've had to cut a lot out of my usual diet so I still have to play around with my calorie intake a bit to not lose anymore weight.
Ps- I'm on this new diet for fertility reasons... not because I don't love sugar, bread, coffee and wine!!!4 -

Success/struggles of the week: Success -- I've been away and unable to eat as I normally do. I didn't eat the right foods, but I also didn't eat a whole lot while I was gone. Also, I forgot to log in one day while I was away, and I broke my 460+ day "streak." I was going for 500 days, but that's okay!7 -

Success / struggles of the week : Still having issues planning for "more food". This most I ended a day this week was 1512, which as you can guess, is way lower than my maintainace goal. But, I have been enjoying the extra calories to fill with beer I haven't had room for lately...
Successes: I did figure out how to make this week a bit better than last week. Going on vacation in 3 weeks, so this weekend I made sure things fit right. 1/2 of what I planned to take is too big...so I'm gonna have to scramble a bit...LOL I'll figure it out, or just wear big clothes.7 -

I am happy to be at 153.4 for 3 days which makes me think it's fat loss, not water fluctuation. This puts me right in the middle of my maintenance where I prefer to be.
I went to an REI seminar for a refresher on snowshoeing. I hope to do a little of that this winter. I did it about 25 years ago and eventually gave away my snowshoes because I resigned myself to the idea that I would never again be fit enough to do it. WRONG!!
Hubby & I found a new place to hike that is only 1/2 hour from home and has enough trail you can get about 10 miles in. This will be great, and it's not even too hard so great for a short afternoon outing. You never know what you might find close by. I thought we had pretty much scoured out the possibilities.

It looks like everyone is doing fairly well. I've been away and not logging for a while, but thought I would check in. I stopped logging back in June. I started here almost 3 years ago weighing in at 187#, probably size 18? XXL for sure. Most of my weight in my belly, but certainly not confined there,
I hit maintenance May, 2015 at 130# and continued to lose for many months. For a while, I was down to 112# which is 6# underweight for my height and struggled between staying underweight and trying to gain without getting fat again. I know, we have all been there.
I am now weighing in at 116# and have been there for a while. I had a scare last month after a tussle with poison ivy and a wasp sting, both of which never bothered me until now. I swelled up pretty good. Anyway, I am back and steady at 116#.
I have really been working on not obsessing over the scale. I weigh myself once per week. I have weighed every day and found I get more than a little crazy.

Success/struggles of the week: I have been on a low calorie regimen for so long upping calories is a bit of a challenge, both physically and mentally. It will take me awhile to get the hang of this I imagine. Also since I am a distance runner in the 35-40 mile a week range, I suspect it will also take me awhile to get an accurate rendering of how many calories I am actually burning so I know how much to eat back. My first week of "maintenance" I still lost weight. I will start to look emaciated and gross if I get much skinner, so this is not a good thing. Obviously I did not care so much about running burn accuracy when I was still cutting, but maintenance is going to require a bit more precision.12 -

Success/struggles of the week: one thing I notice about MFP Maintainers is that, unlike most people who've reached their goal weight, we tend not to get sucked into the usual (massive) food liberalizations that can lead to weight regain - it seems we always have one eye on the CICO balance, and are absolutely determined to preserve it!
It was my birthday yesterday, and I could have easily met the food challenges and overcome them; however, this was my first birthday in many decades "@maintenance", and I guess a psychological shift was brewing beneath the surface because I lost my grip and allowed myself massive food liberalizations!!! On my way home in the evening I reflected on how to handle my massive CI. My first thought was the ever-popular "never mind, forget it, start fresh in the morning" approach, but then I thought about the awesome way so many MFP Maintainers do everything they can to preserve CICO, and elected to do the same. So I stopped at the gym again on the way home, even though I'd already been there in the morning, and built my CO up! Was very pleased when I woke up this morning that the problem had been dealt with, and I can proceed with a fresh slate...

I weighed in a little late today but that's okay.
It is my son's birthday today. I tried to keep food light during the day to sace for the feast later on. I enjoyed my food but I'm knackered now. Hopefully I won't pay for it come next week weigh day.
I'm going away to visit my bro up in Newcastle from Friday-Monday. I think I might pack my kitchen scale just incase. As I won't have control over what's being cooked, I might be able to take charge of my own plate/portion.

@Rachelmilloy Happy Birthday! Great job on your weight loss. Please keep in mind, it is OK to celebrate once in a while. One salad will not make us lose weight, one cheeseburger will not make us gain. Somewhere along this road, we need to learn to forgive ourselves and splurge!4

The issue is not "liberalizing" once a year, it's that many of us can find a reason to splurge everyday and that doesn't end well.2 -
Thanks @mk2fit and @lorrpb !!! Yes, I'm certainly the type who can find a reason to splurge everyday. And I will definitely be keeping my eye on the prize... and staying within my weekly calorie allotment! At the same time, I am so looking forward to increasing my calorie allotment as I slowly reduce my deficit, and am getting a "splurge" experience from my assortment of higher calorie treats. Just polished off 49 grams of wine gums - not feeling deprived!4

You mention your struggle is being 'worried and obsessed', speaking from being at maintenance 4 years, that still can figure in the odd time but thankfully most of the time I can relax and say to myself yes, I have got this! hope you feel with each passing month that you can also let go of those feelings.4

I had 4 splurge days this week and 3 OMAD days...I ate too much bad food on my splurge days and I got sulfer burps and a tummy ache...So I'm cutting back on my splurge days and will be eating better foods.7 -

Struggles: Getting back on track after comping home from the funeral. I know I was afeared of the increase to 12 miles this week. I may have injured my knee due to this. I am struggling with how to rehab while still maintaining my cardio training.
Strengths: I did a deja scan this week. First one since calling maintenance back in June. I was sure that I would be wiggly jiggly due to dropping some of the weight works to focus on running. To my surprise, I was leaner than I expected. And I had an 2lb increase in muscle mass. YEAH!!!
Upcoming week plan: Like I said, I have to rehab this knee. I have found some videos on you tube that I will do daily. I will drop the calories a little below maintenance so that I can make up for the loss of calories usually due to running. I only ever eat 1/2 back.5 -

I had a particularly bad day at work today, which caused me to miss my lunch (not by choice) and build up enough stress due to hunger combined with a stressful day and ended up stuffing my face with Chinese food; mind you, it wasn’t even good Chinese food! At least that’d have been worth it. Anyway, I need to develop coping skills outside of eating. Or just stop harping on every single opportunity that comes up to ear poorly. I need to stop making excuses and get serious2 -

Success/struggles of the week: I am still continuing to drop weight for the third week in a row of "maintenance" despite upping calories to between 2850-3000 per day. My fitbit is apparently a little more accurate with burns from my running than I had originally thought. It seems on most TDE calculators that the upper tier "athlete" setting as far as activity level may be the way to go, putting me at 3300-3500. After crunching some numbers I believe this should balance out calories with my running, or at least come pretty close. That being said, that seems like a gargantuan amount of food for one day to me. I think I am going to do some experimenting with adding very calorically dense liquids as a base for my Met-Rx shakes instead of water or almond milk. Nestle Quik, Shatto Chocolate Milk, or maybe some ice cream or peanut butter if I am at home and can use the blender. Lastly, I have a charity 5K next weekend that is a Halloween themed event and I am going to run it in a Flash costume I got off of Ebay. Should make for some interesting pictures if nothing else.6 -

I’m not too concerned. I’m still in my goal range. Plus I bumped up the amount of weight I’m lifting in my weight training workouts about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully weight is up some as I’m building more muscle!

Succcess/struggles of the week:
My new way of eating is so bizarre- I feel so full and I’m eating way more than before plus lots of good fat foods (evoo,full fat dairy, avocados, bone broth, etc) but my weight is staying the same. And I have not even been exercising as much as I usually do.
I do feel healthier and better nourished, with lots more energy but I don’t want to lose more weight. So I still have to get the hang of this maintenance business.12
