are you actually eating 1500 calories now?0

what are ur goals? are u just trying to lose 50 or so lbs.. what lifestyle do u want? i swear by a lower carb higher fat way of eating.. keeping carbs below 50 a day for fat loss.. ur 6'2 and 250lbs.. i figure 200 lbs is appropriate for that frame..7

1500 cals are too low my friend. How did you come by that number. When I was at 114kg I was eating about 2800 and still losing weight without any more strenuous exercise than walking. Please reassess as eating too little will cause more harm than good.9

Why on earth a big and young man is restricting to only 1500 cals is beyond me though. Fix your calories and your macros may well look after themselves.

My goal is to hit 90-100 KG so i need to loss about 20 KG.
I'm already eating less carbs and fat but i dunno how much should my daily intake be.0 -

As it shows on this app 1500 calories is the minimum for a man. So that's what i'm doing. But i will add more calories when i start working out and doing weight lifting0 -

I must've missed it, on this app it showed mr that i need to eat 300 grams of carbs a day to lose 1 lb a week. Do you really agree with eating that amount? And 75 grams of fat!0 -
whats wrong with MFPs default macros?0
-
your macro breakdown is not relevant to weight loss - your calorie intake is. 300g carbs and 75g fat would be the MFP default for you to lose 1lb a week (so your recommended calorie intake would be a lot higher than 1500 cals).
perhaps trust the system that has been successful for many hundreds of people, and follow the MFP calorie recommendation. follow the link to set your macros if you like, or stick to what they suggest. personally i'd increase protein (0.8g per lb of bodyweight) and decrease carbs to bring the calories back to the recommendation - this isn't because I think the carbs are too high, but because I think the protein is a little too low, especially for someone in a deficit.

It tells me to eat 50% carbs and 30% protein and 20% fat.
50% of my daily intake is 300 grams of carbs, that's what it shows0 -

That's exactly what i thought, my doctor told me to have at least 100 grams of protein a day. I put my macros as 50% protein, 25% fat and 25% carbs but sometimes i go more than 25% of carbs0 -

You are basically going to extremes here
What about the high carbs? Alot of dietitions ask to eat less carbs and fat0 -

as a way of getting in to a calorie deficit...1 -
You have to find your own ideal macro split.
Personally I manage really well on 150g carbs, 65g fat and around 1900 calories. And I'm a small female.
Carbs are filling to me and stop me over eating. Everyone is different so you really do have to play around with it. Starting with the MFP defaults is a good place to start.
You lose fat one way, by eating less calories than you burn off.2 -

So, to lose 1lb per week (which is a completely realistic goal), mfp recommends you eat 2400 calories. Why then did you decide to eat 1500?
Stop restricting yourself - it may seem like a good plan to have such a big deficit, but in the long term it's probably going to cause more issues than its worth! Eat a sensible amount of protein, sufficient fat, and don't be scared of carbs.9 -

YES! If that puts you into a calorie deficit.
Until you get that ultra simple and really basic point you will continue to be lost in a sea of vague feelings that carbs or fat are bad or can somehow keep you fat when you are in a deficit.
Question
Why do Dieticians tell their fat clients to cut fat or carbs or both?
Answer
To put them into a calorie deficit.
Question
Why did you get fat?
Answer
You ate too many calories.6 -

MFP wont make a negative feedback button though, surely!? cos we're all sweetness and light and unicorn farts aren't we?!2 -

Yeah it recommended 2400 cal a week and lots of carbs and saturated fat and that's what i was scated of. No one recommends saturated fat in a fat loss diet.
And yeah i was having dinner now lol and i was so hungry so i had a 500 grams of grilled chicken with 1 slice of vegeterian pizza and 250 grams of salad.
I'm having like 20 grams of fat a day.0 -

20 grams of fat is terribly, dangerously low.
Have you considered why you may be so hungry that you want to binge? Have you tried to figure out if that is healthy?8 -

20 grams is nowhere near enough. You need fat for basic vital functions. And saturated fat is supposed to be limited, not avoided completely. Trans fat is what should be avoided.
Also if it’s telling you to eat 2400 calories, that’s why you should be eating. I know you’ve been increasing from a VLCD, but you should continue to up to your goal.5 -
Yeah it recommended 2400 cal a week - sounds about right for your size. I'm about 76kg and would lose weight on that.
and lots of carbs - what's wrong with that? Vegetables, grains and fruit are all carbs.
and saturated fat - false, it gives a fat goal not a saturated fat goal
and that's what i was scared of - why precisely?
No one recommends saturated fat in a fat loss diet. - false. Don't know where you get you information from but it clearly isn't everyone! Do you realise that some people have extraordinary high percentages of fat in their diet (60 - 80%) and can still lose weight?
And yeah i was having dinner now lol and i was so hungry so i had a 500 grams of grilled chicken with 1 slice of vegeterian pizza and 250 grams of salad. - "So hungry" indicates an inappropriate calorie goal don't you think?
I'm having like 20 grams of fat a day. - That's awful and far too low for health for someone your size.
