Walk to Mordor

Hey everyone! So, I started using this app called Walk to Mordor and I'm loving it! So far I've walked from Hobbitton to Tookland and am now 12.42 miles away from Encounter with the Black Rider.
With the app you log your miles (or km) and it calculates them into where you would be on the journey that Frodo and Sam took in LOTR. The whole journey is 1,932 miles which is gonna be over a year for me.
Who wants to travel with me?

Oh my God that is too funny. The app sounds great.
I am not going to join since I am not doing a lot of walking right now but will use that app if I go back to walking. Keep us posted on your progress. And good luck!
I found a rowing app called "Million Metres" that I am using to log. (Psssst, I am only at 1% right now.)
There are so many cool and motivational tools these days.

I agree there are a lot of awesome motivation tools out there - just gotta find theme. I was soo excited to find this one. I love LOTR.
I wish you the best of luck with your "Million Metres" log! Hey, 1% is better than 0%.12 -

i'd wanna feast like a hobbit though, too.
or maybe i'm not remembering right. haven't read lotr since 11th grade.13 -
Hahaha the hobbits do have a unique meal routine. Though some say it is healthy; 7 daily meals. Though, it would have to be 7 small meals. Some say that having smaller meals throughout the day is healthier as it sustains the body better and stabilizes blood sugars.12

It is really not any healthier than any other pattern of eating. It has been examined extensively, yet remains one of the big diet myths out there.

Put the app on my phone. Now to remember to get it going when I walk.

You don't need to have it running when you walk. You just input the miles at the end of the day.

Such a great idea! I've just downloaded it and entered this evening's run. I'm halfway to the Tookland now, having just crossed the river to the west of Hobbiton. This is going to be a very long journey!
Thanks for sharing the app Faelwyn7 -

I will need something running to track, and again, I have to remember to get it going before I walk.0 -

Hmmm....you could download one of the many pedomoter apps (Such as this one that tells you the miles (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=easypedeometer.herzberg.com.stepcounter&hl=en ) that are available or Map my Walk:
