How much weight do I need to lose

I have had two children and have previously lost 6 and a half stone, but I've now got fat still on my hips and stomach and I got a bit of loose skin. I'm 4 foot 11 and currently 114 pounds. I was thinking I need lose 10-15 pounds. What do you think?

Please speak with a healthcare provider about your weight loss concerns. If you're not incorporating strength training into your workout might be a good start. Good luck!0

If you're concerned about how you look in the mirror at this point, you'd probably be better off focusing on fitness rather than weight loss. There are lots of threads floating around here and in the fitness forum on recomp and toning and all of that. As for the loose skin, my understanding is that the only cure for that is time, luck, and/or surgery. Good luck!1

That looks more like pregnancy-related loose skin than fat, to me. How old is your youngest? I'd bet still an infant. Time will help some. Lifting heavy (to you) weights will help some.3

I would definitely recommend strength training over dieting.2

How old are you? How long have you been dieting? You may find that your skin regains sone elasticity, but it can take a year or more.1 -
According to BMI, you are at "normal weight" but near the top of that. If you were to go down to 105lbs then you would be right smack dab in the middle. Now, I am not really a fan of BMI but so many people tend to give that a lot of value. So, there you go there.
It looks to me like the others are correct. I would really concentrate on weight training. And nutrition. You will find that increasing your strength via heavy lifting will really re-composite your body. You might loose a little bit of weight or you might gain a little bit of weight, but your body will look totally different. For example, you will fit in smaller pants.
The loose skin around your abdomen is likely from the two kids, right? And maybe from the weight loss (which I am guessing was pregnancy weight?). I mean, that 6.5 stones - for us Americans - is a lot of weight....like 90 lbs. A stone, folks, is 14 US pounds. Are my two guesses correct? Mostly from t he pregnancy?
I do remember some previous threads in here about loose skin (both from pregnancy and from extreme weight loss). Maybe do a search for that. Since I am a dude I do not recall the details of those threads (well, I did not make mental notes because I am a dude - and fairly fit at that - and will never get pregnant! LOL!).....
I really think that a good training program will really help. If I may be so forward, it looks like you are in fairly good shape......you legs have a nice shape (not being a creeper with that).2 -

Yup. I'd go with a very small calorie deficit. 250 to 500.1 -
Hello wrinkly belly sister! At least you got yours through having wonderful children, mine is like that because I used to be really fat!
You're young and some of the loose belly skin should tighten up in the next year without needing to lose more weight. You have a little extra fat from a visual perspective, but it's clear you're at a healthy weight from a health perspective. Instead of focusing on the scale number, try strength training as others have suggested. You will improve your body composition and lose inches.2 -
I'm 26 and Ive got a 10 month old baby and a 2 year old. I lost the 6 and a half stone before my two pregnancies0

Also I lift weights and do lots of cardio. Would you suggest uping the calories and eating better and stop the dieting?0

I'd go for a bit of recomp myself.1 -
I agree, lifting and eating a little more. Maybe change what your are eating, as in more protein and lower carbs0

Umm, yes on lifting more weight (the heavier, the better) and no on more cardio.0 -
If you are still nursing, there is that to consider as well. On the whole, upping calories & eating to fuel your body makes sense to me. You are really looking pretty good

Since you are at a healthy weight now, I'd suggest eating a maintenance and focusing on fitness. That loose skin will likely take care of itself in time. You can't carry another human around inside you for months without it showing.
Your workout may be fine, but you probably don't need "lots of cardio", depending on what you mean by lots. Just do a nice mix of cardio and strength and be patient. Neither cardio or weights gets rid of loose skin. Time does that.0 -
Even if you do decide you still want to lose a small number of pounds yet (15 is a lot, at your stature, IMO), this thread could be a useful one for you to read and think about at this point.

Be aware that true loose skin - the fine wrinkles without much subcutaneous fat - can continue to shrink for a long time after weight loss. I'd say mine kept on contracting well into my second year of maintenance, and I'm lots older than you are.
