I also have my Real Estate License (havent been doing much with that) My wake up call was looking at my wedding pictures. I was a WHALE!! A pretty whale, but still a WHALE! My husband and I separated 2 years ago and he lost about 50 pounds, soon as we get back together here came the weight..(Comfort weight) We are both working at getting back to a healthy size. I have always been skinny and busty, WTH happened?? Now I am a whopping size 22. I want to be at least a 12-14. I don't want to be "skinny" I just want to be healthy and sexy. You guys have helped me stay on track and I LOVE you guys for it! I love MFP!

    Hi Everyone!!

I will play along and introduce myself as well...
I'm April. I'm 30 years old and live in Tempe, AZ with my hubby David (6 years in March) and our absolutely wonderful daughter Evelyn (she will be 3 in October). I work for the United Methodist Church as an administrative assistant to the district superintendent. I am at a desk everyday and on the computer 90% of the time.
I started using MFP in July because one of my 3 younger sisters, Jennifer, got engaged and set her wedding date for November 25th!!! She has asked me to sing during the ceremony and I'm so tired of going to weddings looking horrible that I decided this time would be different. My other motivation is that hubby and I have been trying for baby #2 for over 9 months. I'm pretty sure that my weight is a big factor in why I'm not getting pregnant.
I have been the fat girl ever since I hit puberty at 10 years old. I've been the tall girl even longer, so the two characteristics made my life hell until I met my husband. He's loved me fat, so I know he will always love me. :) I also have Hashimoto's Disease just like Tiffany. My thyroid is completely dysfunctional and I have been on medication since January of 2008.
I'm one month into using MFP on August 5th and I've already lost 15 lbs. I've met my first mini goal and I'm ecstatic! I got hubby David on the band wagon and he joined MFP this last weekend. Today hubby and I are joining a gym nearby to help move some more of those pounds along.
I am so thankful to have this group. You all have provided me so much encouragement and I appreciate it so much. I look forward to building our friendships and reducing our waistlines!! Maybe we will all meet up someday?!

Love to you all! - April

I am so glad that people are introducing themselves. I was afraid everyone would think that I was silly for introducing myself. I find if I know details about people, I tend to remember them more and relate better with them. Thanks for humoring me. I am inspired by all of you and your stories.

As for my Wednesday post, I would like to share salsa chicken because it is super easy to make for those non-cooks. It's fast to put in the crockpot in the morning and by dinner, it smells awesome. Besides that, it's pretty versatile because changing the type of salsa will change the taste completely. I love crockpot cooking in the summer because it doesn't heat up your whole house.

    SALSA CHICKEN

    Ingredients:
    4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    1 cup salsa
1 package reduced sodium taco seasoning (I use half)
1 can reduced fat cream of mushroom soup (condensed)
1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream

    Directions
Add chicken to slow cooker. Sprinkle taco seasoning over chicken. Pour salsa and soup over chicken. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Serve with rice.

    Number of Servings: 6

    Cal: 157.2 Fat: 3.3 g Sodium: 654.2 mg Total Carbs: 6.7 g Dietary Fiber: 0.9 g Protein: 24.3 g

Some of you mentioned weight watchers. I calculated that one serving is 4 Points Plus

    Happy Wednesday Lovely #13 Ladies,

I am going to jump on the band wagon and give you a bit of information about me.

I am 43 and live in the North East England. I have four children StephanieDJL being my eldest, two boys aged 13 and 11 and my youngest daughter is 5. My husband has always been a keep fit fanatic and is into body building and eating healthy.

I work full time as a breastfeeding specialist, teaching pregnant women and helping new mum's. My weight has gone up and down over the years.

13 weeks ago I was invited for a night out and came up with every excuse in the book not to go. My youngest daughter then finally made me realise I had to do something. She told me she did not want to be fat like me when she grew up. That was what made me visit my GP and she put me on a healthy eating programme and sees me every 4 weeks.

In 13 weeks I have lost 39lb, I have a long way to go but thanks to you lovely ladies my journey is a lot easier.

Sorry still no recipe but I am really busy packing for my trip on Friday.

    Good luck everyone

    Dianne xx

    Hello Lucky #13 Ladies

    My name is Kelly
I am a native Texan, a first generation American on my mother's side. She was English and I very much Identify with the English side of the Family. lol

I am single. My husband died many years ago at a young age. I raised our son alone with the help of my mom. My son is now grown and married. He is awesome. I am looking forward to meeting husband # 2 ;) all in due time. I am seeing someone but he is much younger than me and is in his last year of grad school. I wonder if he will ever commit. Not holding my breath on that one. He will either commit or forfeit. lol

I do a lot of things. My passion is for my congregation where I am the administrative assistant to my Messianic Rabbi. Church/ Synagogue is my life. I never miss unless I am out of town. My belief in Messiah Yeshua is core to who I am. Unfortunately all my work there is volunteer so I have to go elswhere to earn a living. I have my own business where I give facials, do waxing, manicures and pedicures. But in the last two years the business isn't doing so well. Almost 2 years ago I took a PT job to help suppliment and then I took another PT job in addition to it to help suppliment some more. I gave notice to the first PT job and this is my last week. Not sure if I will keep the other one or not. I could stay there one day a week if I wanted for fun money. I will be starting my new job at a upscale Men's Barber shop next week. I am hoping to get involved with a management company that manages christian and messianic recording artists. I love worship! If I didn't need "stable" income that is what I would love to do. It may still happen, I will keep you posted on that :)

My wake up call, I am not getting any younger. I am too cute to be this fat. lol. I struggle with cardio, not my favorite thing. But I am excited that the scale has moved. Even though I have a long way to go I feel like I have accomplished a lot all ready and feel so much better for it.

I am not a great cook either. So my recipie sharing will be limited. I make a crazy good protein shake

1 scoop of Nectar protein Chocoate truffle flavor 100 cal, 24 protein, 0 fat, 0 carbs
1/2 cup of frozen berries cals will vary depending on the fruit you use.
    blend

    How easy was that?

I guess I should post a little about me too!! My name is Lindsay, I am 26 live in Oregon. I am with an amazing man, Brandon, I am so very fortunate to call him my husband. We have been together since 5/2007 got married 3/2009. I work as a credit/collection manager with a little accounts receivable thrown in for a local business. Its not always the best job but I kick butt at it. Then my temporary fun summer job is I serve beer for our local minor league team. I work my butt of serving beer, I am hoping this will roll right into serving beer for the Ducks football season season. GO DUCKS!!!!! I also have a side thing going of my crafts, my sister and a co-worker run it. If your on facebook, check us out its called kiwi crafts. I also am a couponer, not to the extremes and with some of the backlash of the show its getting even harder to coupon right now.

This biggest reason for losing this weight, besided getting healthy, is I am desperate to start a family!!! I cant wait to have a baby and I am not getting any younger. So I know its time to get serious and start losing this weight. I havent always been big but for like the 6 years the weight has just continued to come on. I miss being able to go shopping with friends and try stuff on usually when i go out with them I just look. My best friend and I have always been able to share clothes and for the last 6 years that hasnt been able to happen, I cant wait for that day again.

    Hiii!

Sorry, just caught up on the thread. With work & packing & shopping for holiday I've barely had chance to sit down. It's great getting some insight into everybody's life & I love how everyone is making the effort to get to know each other.

As may be apparant by my profile, I'm beyond terrible when it comes to writing an 'about me' but here goes; I'm Steph, I'll be 21 next month & I live in England. I'm currently home for the summer but during term time I live about 2 hours away where I go to university. In September I'll be going into my second year & I'm currently studying sociology as my interest lies in people. My dream is to be a psychiatrist/psychologist working with children & teenagers and I hope to one day be able to achieve it!

As pathetic as it sounds, I don't really have any hobbies as such. I've been writing a blog (http://buttonsbowsandbrogues.blogspot.com/) for about a year and a half now and although I wouldn't say I'm passionate about writing, I do enjoy it. Almost as much as I enjoy clothes! I'm a fashion magazine junkie & I love to travel, even if it's just within my own country.

In regards to weight loss & MFP, there wasn't a defining moment which spurred me on, just a change of heart in how to go about losing. I'm ridiculously tall and so have always been bigger than my peers even if I wasn't necessarily fat. I can't say when the weight started piling on as in my eyes I've always been fat! I've always hated my size, I've tried so many times & done so many different diets over the years but have never managed to shift more than 2 stone (28lbs). I abhor being fat and I'm determined to finish what I've started this time. I have all the support & the tools necessary and I'm enjoying exercise & healthy eating too much to let this go.

In regards to yesterdays inspiration (still haven't cooked any thing, oops!):

'Dead Last is greater than Did Not Finish which trumps Did Not Start'

'We are who we choose to be'

Wishing you all an amazing weekend

    xx

    Check in for 8/5/11,

    Weight : 205lbs

So far I have burn 1,599 out of the 1800 calories I would burn this week. Still have zumba at noon today so that should push me above my goal. Except for yesterday, my water and eating has been pretty good. Two margaritas dropped my loss from 1 lb to 1/2 lb.

Just a reminder that I I will not be logging in from 8/7 to 8/14 due to vacation and no internet connection, that I know of so far.

have a great weekend and enjoy what's left of summer and summer break (kids).

love you all and I am thankful for your support and uplifiting you give me.
