Down another pant size!23

Another of my friends/family has lost a ton of weight - 75lbs.
Introducing them to MFP (after they noticed my success last year) was a huge factor!
Inspires me anew!!39 -
Totally agree! It's the 'Fail better' that actually works. Cause you will mess up, overeat, not do the workout, etc., but getting back on track after and for longer periods is the way to results!23

NewLIFEstyle4ME wrote: »When shopping for clothes ( in stores and online), I no longer look at/for plus size clothes anymore-this is really a HUGE and game-changing break-thru for me. I've ONLY shopped/search for plus sizes for soooo very many years--wow!
I now just look at sizes large or extra large AND only in so-called "regular" sizes and they're fitting (sometimes with room to spare). I'm even tempted to begin looking at/for size mediums, just for the fun, hopefulness and faith of it all. This is sooooo EXCITING to me!!!! YAY and WOW again.
I remember the first time I didn't fit in plus sizes anymore. I was looking and looking and eyeballing the outfits and one of the sales girls in the store came over to me and asked me if I needed help. I told her it was my first time there and I didn't know what size I should I get and she gently said, 'I thought so because you're in the plus size section and I can tell by looking that you're not a plus size.' I was FLOORED.
Yes, it's marvelous! Speaking of marvelous, you're looking absolutely tremendous and your transformation is nothing less than marvelous--BOOM!5 -
This morning I ran for 2kms straight! Then did 4 more KMs of short walk/run intervals.
But I haven’t run for 2km for about 7 years! I feel amazing. One step closer to running a full 5K!21 -
Went to wash some windows at our church today so pulled on an old pair of jeans as I was going to go ride after I was done. Had to keep pulling them up and was glad there was no one around to see. Got home and changed as I didn't want to fight with them on my ride. Another pair for the too big pile.
I started tracking my bike miles May 2016 and just missed getting to 3000 miles last year so was determined to do it this year. I was going through my miles last night and realized I had missed logging one 20 plus mile ride so was closer than I thought so was able to take advantage of our warm December weather and now have 3017 miles on the year. Who knew we would have several 50-60 degree days in Iowa this late in the fall. Although several of the days were very windy and challenging.
Next goal to get to 6000 miles from when I started keeping track. only 95 miles to go, by end of year maybe?
Also not weight related but got the Christmas tree up and our spare room cleaned and rearranged to make better use of the space.

Walked in the Jingle Bell 5K this morning under my goal of 45:00. Finished with chip time of 44:37 and average pace of 14:22. Woohoo! Then, because dog missed her walk and it was a beautiful December day, I walked her 2.65 miles this afternoon.26

The husband of a business colleague, whom I’ve met 4-5 times, introduced himself to me tonight at a party. I wondered if he was kidding, but smiled and nodded. As he left, he apologized. He thought he was meeting my sister. I don’t have a sister! He didn’t recognize me -100lbs.!32

I bought 3 pairs of jeans several months ago, all the same size but one pair was a little tighter than the others. I put on a little more weight and that pair of jeans ended up in the back of the wardrobe. I then got the impetus to get off my butt, cut refined sugar from my diet and change the composition of my body. It's been 7 weeks since I started and while I feel better, weigh 16 lbs less and feel less bloated I haven't seen much of a difference. Until I was getting clothes out this morning and I decided to try on those jeans. And they fit better than when I bought them. I'm still the same clothing size but boy does it feel good to know I'm going in the right direction.22

No longer snacking late at night!27

I used to be so, so self conscious about my arms and back and now I bought this dress and tried it on and only afterwards realized that I hadn't even thought 'oh, can I wear this, how will this look, etc.'
Very happy to get more at ease in my own body.

I've actually learned not to eat my feelings.
I had an emotionally challenging week, the kind that in the past would have had me self-soothing with multiple binges. Instead of eating I did more walking, journalling and meditating.
When I went through a similarly tough time a couple of months ago, I told myself that it was a fluke that I didn't overeat. This time I realized that my emotional growth is just as real as my physical shrinking.

A lady just stopped me at the gym to tell me my figure is “perfect”, that my waist is “so tiny”, and that she was admiring my squats. Made my morning!29

DH and I went canoeing today with the slack tide. No problem! 1 hour later we started the return trip with a strong incoming tide and wind. Add another 2 1/2 hours and we made it back. Caught a nice sea trout on the return for dinner. Last year we would not have been able to do this. We are so proud of ourselves!29

Some exercise, some fishing and fresh sea trout for dinner. That would be on my list of perfect days! Nice!

Someone mentioned they could see a big different in my face. She said, "look at your little face." (LITTLE!) I can see it in the mirror, too. In my 20s, a relative told me that when I gain weight I get a "moon face" and after that I hated my round face when I was heavier. Glad to see it gone again. I now have a square face with my mother's chin instead of a big round face.22

Swim circuits instructor tried to kill me this morning! In previous weeks he made me push a brick, then week after 2 bricks for a length to try and stop me. No joy! still did the length.
So this morning he handed me a float belt!! AND I STILL DID THE LENGTH!! and got compared to a shark!! haha
he said to the other guy, 'It's like when you harpoon a shark and the float slows them'.
It was very difficult to get the pulls right with the float and the brick, but feel so chuffed!!
also saw a mate I haven't see in a while and he said I was looking really good! so yay!!15 -
Mon-Wed are not my favorite days at the gym. I love working out but hate crowds, which is why I go between 4:30-5am, there is usually the same crowd at the gym during this time, for lack of a better term "the regulars" and there's respect for each other and equipment, but on Mon-Wed you get the people starting a new program or trying to make up for the weekend. I get that, been there, done that. I just don't like it. For some reason I have been slower getting to the gym so when I got there today it was CROWDED, groups sharing equipment, people all over. People taking 3 sets of dumbbells and hoarding them. Not putting weights back using 2-3 benches for their circuit workout. I normally would be aggravated but today I just put on my headphones and did the workout I could. I adapted where needed, worked in with a few people and got thru my workout. THAT is an NSV for me. I normally just get angry and get a horrible workout in. I don't listen to music (normally) when working out, I listen to sermons, today I was listening to a pastor named Jeff Durbin, he looks like a Hipster but is just s great Apologetics style guy who pulls no punches. Today as I was working out he said during the sermon (at the MOMENT I needed it) "There is no shade of gray in the Gospel, it just is the Gospel and that's how you share it, Jesus didn't pull punches so you shouldn't either. Its like working out, just get it done and lift the weight or do the run, don't compromise!"28

A guy bench pressing heavy at the gym asked me to spot him. I told him I didn't feel safe spotting him at that weight (more than 300 lbs), and found someone else for him, but it was flattering to be asked!
My upper body strength improves so slowly! I can incline bench 75 lbs now, which is almost twice what I started at. I had a major setback due to my shoulder earlier this year. But I am improving, even if it is slow. And I really like my gym, everyone is polite and treats me just the same as they treat each other.12 -
I was out with girlfriends last night I had not seen in at least 3 years...when I weighed 250..they all got to the restaurant before me so when I walked up to the table they all looked up at me but no one said anything. It took them a few seconds to reconcile who I was. I liked it. When they were all done going on with hugs and such, I told them my favorite part of this journey has been having a neck again....LOL.37
