Hi, everyone. I got back on the wagon (treadmill) today to officially begin week 3. I really liked the 3 minute running intervals. I started having some nagging pain in one of my glute muscles, though, right where the glutes meet the hamstrings I guess? Don;t know what it is, I don't remember having discomfort there before from running. It was bearable so I ran through it - I hope it doesn't develop into an issue, I'll have to watch and make sure it doesn't get worse.

Completed Day 2 of week 4 today.
Before I felt annoyed and unmotivated but energized
During I felt like I was accomplishing something but my legs were a bit sore today and my asthama bothered me a bit. I think I need to work on my breathing while running. Anybody else struggling with their breathing?
I find that I can get through the five minute runs better if I flip my IPOD over so I can't see the time but also felt like I ran better with no music today at points (I shut it of for a bit to see). I want to try running to audiobooks soon!
After I felt accomplished. However, I looked ahead to next week and am a bit nervous that I have a full 20 minute run coming up next week!

For those of you with HRM...what's your typical burn like (what speeds are you running) and where is your heart rate during your walks and runs?

I just bought my HRM and am still trying to learn its functions properly. However, it seems that I burn about 300cals with the total run. I'm averaging 6mph and my heart rate is in the 160's. My HRM has the functions to be able to do intervals; so I can get it to let me know when to walk/jog with each changing week - pretty cool feature!

I did my W2D2 run this am and stayed within the parameters set by the program - yes, I figured out my HRM's interval feature. What I discovered is that I got through the run without any knee pain!!!!!! I also found that I still wanted to run longer than the interval as the whole "runners high" had kicked in. I'm totally sold on doing and finishing this program!

Finally finished week 3, but I finished feeling depressed. My shins are hurting something fierce when I run. I'm not sure what to do, should I repeat the week, slow down a tad or move on and push through. My body doesn't want to keep up with my mind!

Today I did Week 4, Day 3.....but not very successfully. I am struggling to run continously for 5 minutes. I will do week 4 another week. I am intimidated by week 5! So I am not going to move on until week 4 is completed successfully!

    Week 2, day 2 DONE!

    Before I felt: Preoccupied.

During I felt: I had a lot of discomfort in my calves and a little in my shins -- had to pause midway to tighten my shoes, which helped the shins but did nothing for the calves. I took about a 5 minute break between the 4th and 5th intervals, but I managed to complete the workout. The discomfort wasn't horrible, but it took a lot of mental effort to push through.

After I felt: Tight and sore in the calves; happy I made it through in spite of myself.

A week later ... W1D3 is finally complete! After taking a week off for my injury to heal, I was back at it today. I've been doing cardio everyday, but I'll never understand how I can do squats all day but can't run for 60 seconds! :)

Before running, I felt like I didn't want to do it because it's so hot and I was scared after my last time and my big fall. This time, though, I focused a lot more on my breathing and form and before I knew it, I was halfway done. After that point I seemed to feel stronger and wasn't counting the seconds down until I could stop running. My new running shoes felt better but gave me painful blisters on my heels that were hard not to notice while running.

All in all, I did it. Week one complete!

I haven't done my C25K this week - I sprained my ankle doing the 5K trail run last Saturday (which was FABULOUS, and I'm totally hooked now) and it's not cooperated. So I'm stalled out for a few more days. Once I can run again without risking causing more injury, I'll be starting week 4. Since we skipped Week 2, I feel okay with taking a week off to heal. It puts me right where I was scheduled to be.
  • I just finished week 2 today and I can already tell that running is becoming a bit easier for me! This program (so far) rocks =D

    Week 2, day 3 DONE!

Before I felt: Asleep! I randomly woke up at 6 a.m. (an hour earlier than planned) and decided to get my run in before packing for the beach.

During I felt: Really good! Bumped my jogging speed to 4.2, which felt better than 4.0 -- and did my last jogging interval at 5.0!

After I felt: A little queasy -- not sure if that's because I didn't have much on my stomach, or was dehydrated or what.

Now... I'm off to San Diego for the weekend! :drinker: Have a great weekend, everyone!!

Woke up at 6:30am today because of my cat, and decided I would go to the gym. I must have been a little disoriented, because I didn't plan on starting week 3 until tomorrow... but, nonetheless W3 D1 is now complete.

Before I felt: A little nervous actually. I mean I had been successful up until now, but a 3 min run... seemed a little daunting.

During I felt: Noticed a couple of aches here and there, but nothing to major. I kept my pace pretty much the same as before, walking 3.8, runs 6.7 Started to get a little winded towards the end of the three minute mark, but I kept focused and got through it!

After I felt: Proud of what I accomplished. Ready for an after work-out protein boost and shower (not at the same time ) Ready to continue on with the day. Boyfriend and I have a 4 hr long motorcycle ride planned.

Anyways, W3 D2 will probably happen on Tuesday. I hope everyone continues to have great success. And for anyone who is wondering about whether or not they can lose weight doing this program + MFP... I'll have you know I lost 3 pounds this week! :drinker:

    W2D3 completed!
Before I planned to ensure that I did at least a quick paced walk of 30min to warm up plus stretching. Our little dog park has several trails that are measured so I planned a bit of a different route today.

During: I was glad that I was running and turned up the speed on the 2nd leg to get through an area that has heavy flies! Had to fight with my shorts while running as they kept trying to slide off my hips... first time for everything!

After: easy to cool down and glad I was done as it was starting to get hot out.

I was looking at next week's schedule and it looks like it will be very challenging!

I also jumped in and started week 3 today. I have a weird schedule next week and to make it work with rest days in between, I did what I had to do!

Before I felt energized and actually excited to see if I could do it.
During I felt awesome really. I walk at 3.4 or so and run around 4.8/5, I tried to up it to 5.3 but I couldn't keep up well. The program says to do two intervals and after the second one I felt like doing another one, so three intervals was perfect. I am loving this program!
After I felt proud that I could do it and bump it up a notch too.

Completed Week 2 Day 3 (have been doing the jogs/walk late at night since I am visiting family)!

    I did meet my goal!
I believe I met my goal because: I kept to the C25K plan even though I was out of town visiting family!
I believe I did not meet my goal because: N/A

Before I felt: Ready to finish Week 2 of C25K!

During I felt: Confident in my ability to jog for 1 min 30 secs compared to day 1

After I felt: In pain again. My thighs and knees, especially my knees, are on fire!
