    1/2 credit...
*Clue #1 to Group - “Pre FedEx company name minus the letter “O” was primarily a business that made copies.

This is more of a scramble. 3 songs. One word from each song gives the final clue:

    Ace Frehley
    Al Stewart
    Buddy Holly

    _____ _____'s _____

I took a liberty with Buddy Holly. Not sure if that's what you were after.

Ace Frehley - New York Groove
Al Stewart - Year Of The Cat
    Buddy Holly - Everyday

    New Year's Eve

    That makes more sense.

Ace Frehley - New York Groove
Al Stewart - Year Of The Cat
Buddy Holly - That'll Be The Day

    New Year's Day

Back to arithmatic, oldies style. Feel free to collaborate! And I'll give more hints if needed.

    The Heartbeats + (The Proclaimers x 2) + The Searchers + Len Barry + Tony Orlando & Dawn = # Answer
  • deckerp
    deckerp Posts: 4,442 Member
The Heartbeats did "One Million Years", but also "A Thousand Miles Away".
The Proclaimers could be "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)", so x 2 is 1000 miles.
The Searchers did "Love Potion Number 9".
    Len Barry had 123.
Tony Orlando & Dawn had several, but one of the most famous was "Knock Three Times".

    1000 + 1000 + 9 + 123 + 3 = 2135?

    What if 123 was 1+2+3?
Then the total would be 2018...
