Finally got back out there. I was only planning on a mile but I was making decent time and my ankle felt better so I kept going. I had taken a protein bar with me to eat on my cool down walk home but at some point during my run I dropped it. Lol.

Another day, another run. It's rainy and hanging out just above freezing. No complaints here.
Upcoming races:
1/20 CityTrail 5k
1/28 Madeira Marathon (Funchal, Portugal)
2/17 CityTrail 5k (morning) + Lublin 10k (night race)
3/17 CityTrail 5k
3/18 CityTrail 5k (in Warsaw, because I got a free start)
4/8 Lublin 10k
May pick and choose from these races, or take some time off and bike all summer:
5/13 Lublin Marathon (? pretty sure I want to do it)
6/23 Kraśnik Half-Marathon (?)
9/23 Loch Ness Marathon (?) if I feel like training in August4 -
@7lenny7 Wow! I'll add to everyone's sentiments of being glad that you and Kody are ok. It's one of those things where we're careful 99% of the time, but all it takes is that 1% to bring disaster. I normally assume I'm invisible when out (that applies for driving also), but just the other day I was crossing at a crosswalk (I had the green 'walk' sign), when a minivan just sailed right on through the intersection, completely running the red light. If I hadn't been paying attention and stopped walking, who knows what the outcome would have been. It wouldn't have been one in my favor, that's for sure.
And a pet peeve of mine are the drivers in the dark that think they're being helpful by waiting for me, or trying to wave me by. I know they're just trying to help, but I normally can't see the driver, so have they really seen me? Are they really waiting for me or are they just trying to find their phone? If I go, will they also then suddenly accelerate if they weren't really waiting for me?5 -

Another lovely run this morning.
My schedule for the past month or two has been 4 runs per week. Seems to be the right combination of running/resting, and I've been getting faster and with lower heart rate.
Saw this today:
Sheep and Alpacas. My 2 favorite. I love spinning, knitting and crocheting so I love seeing the animals that are my favs to use. Great pic as always @orphia.3 -
@orphia I'm laughing too hard at how they are all looking at you.
@JessicaMcB dirty the girls aren't feeling well Congrats on the starting spot
@sarahthes hope the back feels better soon
@cburke8909 sorry you are still sick
@ddmom0811 I wonder why that is you would think you'd be faster knowing you're on a time schedule.
@southpaw1958 amazing congratulations!
@HRKinchen just remember how important rest days are.

@skippygirlsmom - Thank you for the reminder. I know it; I just don't like it.1

Yesterday's run was not good. I started out ok, but the leg kind of hurt, so I walked a little, ran a little. But then I couldn't keep the heart rate down so I walked the rest. Since then (and maybe before) I can't keep the heart rate down even walking across the office. I took my blood pressure when I got to work and it was elevated. Not quite sure what the heck is going on. Dr appt is next weds and dr is out of town until then so I can't even get in before then. Maybe I'm coming down with something.6

Sounds rough. Can you pop in to an urgent care or something in the meantime? Not sure what they can do, but might provide some insight? Maybe they can check your electrolytes, potassium?
It does sound like you could be coming down with something.
Best wishes.2 -
@7lenny7 As everyone else has said, I'm glad you & Kody didn't get hurt and thanks also for the reminder.
@seanevan10 Hope you are feeling better today.
@JessicaMcB Hope the kids are better soon! I hate this time of year for all the bugs the kids being home with them.
Today is even colder than yesterday so I brought my gym bag to work, will hit the treadmill on the way home.
An update to my broken washing machine saga is that my new washer & dryer are being delivered Jan 22. Is it weird that shopping for appliances makes me feel way more grown up than buying a condo or having kids ever did? Anyway, I'm really hoping I don't run out of clean workout clothes between laundromat visits...7 -

I've been staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarving. Unknowingly had a carb refeed day yesterday. Much needed. Still a bit hungry today, but really going to pay attention more to this leptin and glycogen thing. The video is long in the first post of this thread: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10604863/of-refeeds-and-diet-breaks/p1.

You know what is annoying... ever since I lost that 50 pounds... I am less cold tolerant. Maybe I should get it back.6
-
@PastorVincent Cold while running doesn't seem to bother me as much as general life living feeling cold. I feel cold all the time. My office is the worst!1
-
01/02/2018: C25K W1D1 on the treadmill. It all starts somewhere.
01/11/2018: C25K W1D2 on the treadmill. Felt easy, surprisingly, probably because of eating better.
I'm incorporating a lot of changes and doing it ALL on the first week was too much. I focused on my diet - meal planning, meal prepping, and eating right. I nailed it! Today (1/11/2018) I started following the guidelines in "The Miracle Morning" and will be running in the morning vs evening (when life seems to get in the way).
Goals: Three (3) 5k's and (1) 10k by fall. I compete in endurance riding and will be bumping up to 50 milers this year; I want to be able to get off and run with my horse when possible
~ @Link2Life (FR welcome - could use some more accountability partners)6 -
