consuming fewer calories than you expend is effective for weight loss. any additional activity you do will increase energy expenditure...but you could do all of the exercise in the world and eat at maintenance and not lose a pound. I exercise most days of the week...long bike rides and weight lifting...I've been maintaining going on 5 years...I maintain because I eat a maintenance level of calories. If I wanted to drop weight I would continue doing exactly what I'm doing exercise wise and just eat a little less.1

Exercise isn't for weight loss it's for health.

Sorry hun but if you’re asking that you have a whole lot of more research to do.
If you want to lose weight. Eat in a caloric deficit. How you create that deficit is completely up to you.4 -
Exercise can help, and skipping surely is a high energy activity. You'll burn calories for sure.
If, however, you follow up by eating, say, an entire Devil's Food cake, the skipping won't be effective.1 -
You can lose weight without exercise but skipping is a great cardio workout.0
