and this, my friends, is why heart rate is NOT correlated with calories burned.
Frankly there's no truly accurate way of measuring calories burned. For that matter the calories contained in food are a guestimate that can be off by 10%. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.livescience.com/26799-calorie-counts-inaccurate.html3 -

There is certainly an accurate way to measure calories burned, but it is in a controlled lab environment. HRMs and fitness trackers assume MET and Heart Rate as indicators of VO2.
Edit: but i don't see how this is relevant to my comment about this being a primary example of why HR is not indicative of calories burned.5 -
Let me rephrase, there's no accurate way for us normal folk to track it. We used best guesses, and that's fine, but people should be aware there's error involved2

Forgive me for thinking this might not be serious coming form a person with no profile and only two posts.6

Sure, but i was more so saying that the margin of error between....- Heart Rate via smart watch for running
- vs.
- Heart Rate for doing it
is going to be larger. One the heart rate is indicative of work being done and calories being burned, the other... not so much.2 -
Just to clarify...to what body part would one attach a fitness tracker during sex???
Asking for a friend...13 -

Asking for a friend...
I think we are always asking for that same friend. He is always so curious.8 -
I consider sex part of normal activity not exercise.
Depending on what you do would burn different amounts of calories.
I'd only count it as exercise if you are doing something above your normal level of effort.1 -

See, I thought it was until I started putting quotes around what I was looking for
It's an older style search function, unless you are used to those, rather than the more robust Google style engines, you can have trouble finding things.1 -

And for some folks it may very well be above their normal level of effort. Considerably above lol5 -
Well my heart rate defiantly goes up in the bedroom2

if your mind is on how many calories you are burning while having sex, someone is doing something wrong.8

Sex, in and of itself, isn't much of an exercise, but you can burn a lot of calories afterwards, running away from the mall security guards.
[let the record show that this is a public sex joke, not a rape joke.]9 -
I’ve seen a few posts on fb about the best positions for burning calories during sex and most of them have at least one person in some ridiculous position like holding themselves up in a bridge like pose. The calories for these ranged for 45 to 100 calories but there’s no way I could hold any ice those positions for 30 mins. It might be worth logging if someone was in the porn industry having hours of sex each day3

If house cleaning is considered excercise then yes sex is as well!5

Depends on how fast you can move your right hand.
So let's say x is the object - for real life example- we will make a reasonable assumption.
Size is 10 cm or 3.93 inches- so from bottom to top motion is 3.93 inches /10 cm- now all you gotta do is measure the speed hand moves at and voila speed x distance = time -Now so 30 seconds to a 1 min worth of exercising = check heart rate and put it in a calculator and note the calories.
All in all I'd say negligible. Ergo don't count these in your workout regime.4 -
That depends if you are the one doing the pumping.1
