You will lose some body fat even when gaining muscle. You will see smaller losses on the scale, but notice it in the change of physique. The amount of fat you can lose while trying to gain muscle is much less than if you are solely going for weight loss. If you want a dramatic drop in body fat go for weight loss, then strength train more when you get close to your goal weight. For softball training though, if you want to increase power more than speed & you're close to your playing weight, focus on increasing muscular strength and the body fat will come along.0

You could do 30 lbs in that time if you are super serious for real. That would be like 3 inches off of your waist or more depending on your diet.
If you wanna lose some weight go for it! Track your calories and hit your calorie target, and try to eat some healthy stuff!
How many calories a day should I be eating? What should I focus on? Low fat? Low carb? Vegetarian?0 -

Well, I'd like to not be super slow when running the bases and I just want to fit into my shirts better, while not having those awful underarm wings.0 -

You should really try to drop a pound a week. So your looking at about 17 pounds while maintaining as much muscle mass as possible.
Is it not possible to gain muscle whilst losing body fat? I was watching a "perfect physique" documentary on Netflix and they were talking about how they have figured out how to gain muscle while losing body fat. They just didn't say how.
I havnt heard of any way.
Hmmmm, any supplements you would recommend for the gaining of muscle part of it?
Protein and creatine are main ones that I see beneficial. Beyond that, there is a lot of sups out there but as to whether they actually work, your guess is as good as mine.
I would opt for either Keto or high protein diet for weight loss.0 -

What about for gaining muscle? If I'm lifting, do I need carbs?0 -

Don't need them.... Just an excess of calories and enough protein if you want to go the no carb route0 -

I don't think it will 100% get rid of the "wings" but triceps exercises should help tone up your upper arm and improve your long ball!
