Breakfast ideas that don't include eggs, hot oatmeal, or yogurt?

I know this is weirdly specific, but I have a problem. I'm trying to find something new to have for breakfast in the mornings that would fit into a ~300cal meal.
I can't do eggs when I wake up, they make me super nauseous. Hot oatmeal is a no-go right now, it's just not filling enough for me, and I've had nothing but homemade yogurt with granola for the past three months so that's out as well.
Last night I whipped up a batch of the Skinnytaste "Insanely Good Blueberry Oatmeal Muffins" and, while I'll eat them, they have the texture of regurgitated cat food. An alternate recipe for something similar would be great, some sort of low-cal whole-wheat fruit/cinnamon muffin.
Anyway, please toss any ideas that you have at me. I'd be forever grateful!

Well, once you realize that breakfast doesn't HAVE to be breakfast foods, that opens things up a whole lot more. There's no reason why you couldn't have last night's leftovers, a salad, some soup, whatever you like.
If you want to stick to "breakfast-type" foods, you could do waffles, pancakes, bagels, toast. If you're looking for more protein, you can make waffles and pancakes with protein powder.

I like to do a toasted English muffin with peanut butter on top. I buy the double protein Oatmeal/cinnamon English muffins (Thomas brand) and the Jif whips peanut butter.9

I could have almost written this post.
I'm bored of oatmeal, hate the taste of eggs and have a strong dislike for yogurt.
I'm thinking it's time for chicken in the morning. Pre-cooked so I can just nuke it for a minute and eat. It would help with getting enough protein and be a change.
Gonna look at breakfast sausage as well. Just not sure I want the calories, but if it means I don't need a morning snack, that might work.5 -
Ezekiel Bread (I like it because it's low glycemic) or multi grain slice, toasted with avocado, tomato, and the cheese of your choice melted on top. MMmmmmm good lol7

Breakfast sandwich with english muffin, turkey sausage and cheese?5

Ehh, my stomach is kind of weird in the morning. And if I'm being totally honest, by 'my stomach is weird' I mean 'I have ADHD and Anxiety issues that make me extremely routine-driven and if it falls outside the category of breakfast food I can't bring myself to eat it before 10am'.
So I could do something like breakfast tacos, but that generally is over 300cal, especially when the tortilla is 100 by itself.

Look up Morning glory muffins. There are several variations, and some that are lower cal. than others, but they usually contain whole wheat, bran and or flax , fruit & nuts to bulk up the protein/fiber content. And, they are really flexible you can pretty much customize them however you want. they are always satisfying without that gross "diet" taste. I think this is pretty close to the recipe I use: myrecipes.com/recipe/morning-glory-muffins-2 The dates, walnuts, flax and pineapple can be subbed for whatever you prefer or have on hand.1

If you want a frugal option for that, my boyfriend roasts a 6lb chicken each week, cleans the meat off, freezes half, and just eats from it all week. And then you can make chicken stock with the bones. It's super easy, just pair it with any pre-made veg you happen to have.4 -

What's the texture of ezekiel bread like? I hear people raving about it, but also it's sprouted grains, right? So is it stringy? I'm scared haha.Crafty_camper123 wrote: »Look up Morning glory muffins. Why not skip breakfast and just eat later in the morning or break your fast at lunch?3

It isn't stringy at all. It's not at all like the sprouts I suspect you may be thinking of. The grains are sprouted, but they don't have any "tails" like with the sprouts you sometimes see in the produce section.
The texture is very much like other whole grain breads. You have the texture of the various grains embedded within the bread.3 -

Gotta eat to take my meds on the weekdays, and on the weekends I'm usually hiking 7+ miles in the early morning so not eating before that would end poorly for me I think... I've totally considered that, though.3 -
I end up having an apple sauce cup (50 cals) or raw almonds (160 cals) when I want something crunchy and then a coffee with creamer. The creamer has a lot of calories but coffee is a must for me most mornings so I trade off with a lighter calorie food.0

Skinny hash brown muffins - savory and only 79 calories each. Recipe at skinny kitchen.com0

Any bread, crackers, or toast you like with thinly sliced deli meat, a variety of cheeses, jam or jelly (or whole fruits), butter if you want it. You can assemble a tray, keep it in the fridge, and pull it out for breakfast each morning.1

I just eat left overs for breakfast.
Breakfast food for breakfast is overrated- I'm a big believer of breakfast for dinner- but not breakfast for breakfast.7 -

Now I think I need to make these this weekend! I have cranberries, blueberries and orange zest on hand that would be delicious in there, LOL.

Smoked salmon on toast, bean tacos, chorizo and eggs, chorizo and beans, currently I am having a large coffee with 4 tbs of heavy cream at 200 cals a pop and calling it breakfast.2

Breakfast meat like bacon or sausage, toast with peanut butter or jelly, fruit, cereal, a green smoothie.1
-
Back bacon (aka Canadian bacon). You get that great breakfast meat taste in a nice lean package.1

I also just don't eat breakfast- if you aren't a breakfast person- don't force yourself to eat. Just eat when you're ready.3

I went through a phase of eating a baked sweet potato topped with cottage cheese and a sprinkle of chopped pecans. It held my hunger at bay longer than any other breakfast I’ve tried. Depending on size of potato, this could fit your calorie goals. It’s good without the pecans, too. Maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon to make it seem more breakfasty?2

I have some fruit or toast with peanut butter. I plan frequent snacks, so I don't worry too much about food not filling me up for hours on end.1
-
I like a slice of really good bread toasted, with goat cheese and berries on top
I also like bread with almond butter, banana slices and chopped walnuts
I make these breakfast bars sometimes, where I put almond butter, dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, etc), coconut, a little bit of oil as binder, cinnamon, nutmeg. blend it up, pat it into an 8X8 square, and chill.

I find that eating fruit with my breakfast (around 6:30 a.m.) really helps me feel full until around 10:30 a.m. I usually have scrambled eggs with a clementine, or english muffin with berries, something like that.3
-
I have mini-bagels or light English muffins with Laughing Cow, bacon, avocado, tomatoes, etc. pretty often, sometimes with a side of Greek yogurt and/or fruit. The carb base comes out to around 100 calories, which leaves plenty of room for toppings/sides. Or you could go rogue and eat foods not specifically intended for breakfast -- there's no law about "breakfast foods!"0

how about a fresh fruit smoothie? Blend fruit and juice together, add some chia or flax seeds and you're good to go. Other then that, what about PB toast?
Right now I am trying to use the food I have in my house, so I am making zucchini bread (I got so MUCH zucchini from the garden) and having a slice of that in the morning with a cup of black coffee.1
