You're gonna get a lot of "woo" reactions from this crowd but don't let them get to ya...your progress is awesome...keep at 'er! I tried keto for a few weeks in November and couldn't keep it up for a few reasons, although I remember feeling great and having more energy.10

Or mistakenly assuming that it's the absolute most bestest thing ever for everybody.20 -
I am so excited on this new beginning, to be a part of this group! Thanks!3

@caiteh86 people also woo to mean woohoo...which I would imagine given the post, that is what most people are doing...they're happy for the OP...4 -

Don't assume those woos are from the people posting, though. Lots of people lurk, and automatically click "woo" if a comment mentions keto, or vegan, or clean eating, or CICO. This thread's already had over 120 views, compare that to the number of posters, none of whom bashed keto.7 -

Some people think that "woo" is for "woo hoo," which would be a perfectly legitimate reaction to someone posting excitedly about their success with weight loss strategy they enjoy and find sustainable. In any case, why stir up negative emotions on such a positive post. I'm happy for OP.7 -

I wasn't trying to stir up any negativity... in my original comment I said how happy I was for her. And yes, exactly, some people think it means woohoo, but it doesn't. Yet another reason why the woo button is ridiculous and needs to be removed/changed. Anyhooooo...9 -
Keto doesn't rule, but it seems it's perfect for you. Congrats!13

keep on truckin'1 -
Yes to Keto. Been on for about 1 month now.
- I'm down 15 pounds and currently around 15% body fat +/-.
- First few days were rough but after the adjustment period you feel much better.
- Not only have I lost some weight but more importantly, my blood pressure dropped 15 points. This is the first time that I've had normal range blood pressure in over 10 years, which was a pleasant surprise.
- My energy is high and I workout 6 days a week with 4 days being HIIT workouts.
- And my stomach feels much more comfortable. Don't have the uncomfortable, greasy, bloated feelings that I would sometimes get.
So far no downside except that I miss flour. Always happy to field questions.5 -

I understand it may not have been your intent, but warning OP about negative reactions that you think are on the way can sometimes bring about the very thing you're trying to avoid. In any event, we can't know why people are clicking "woo" on the post. It has, at least right now, at least two possible meanings. Which is why I think it's best for people to just let it go and focus on what's working for OP. Right now, it's easy to assume that everyone is happy for OP so let's keep the train rolling in that direction . . .7 -

I completely agree with this. Woo is possibly the most passive-aggressive reaction button I've ever seen, and leaves people with no way to respectfully disagree. It really perplexes me that a site that is so focused on respect for fellow posters provides a means to trash their opinions without actually explaining the what or why.

Starting the keto thing again myself. I gotta do it to keep my blood pressure down. In a few months I've gotta take another physical and if I fail it I'm out of a job. The first time I did it I lost 42lbs in 8 weeks but I was working out like a madman.5

I'd add you but I don't how.1

I'm doing a less strict modified version of Keto and I love it.2
