Extra Virgin Olive Oil is always my base for salad dressings. Depending on what I feel that day I'll either add lemon juice, lime juice or red wine vinegar to it with a little salt n pepper. Adding minced garlic to any one of these combos works too, also a squirt of dijon mustard gives a tangy flavor0

I've been eating salad for one meal every day since I started on this website. I've created my own little concoction that really works for me. Warning: I like lots of zing, so this might not work for you.
4 oz. Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
1 oz. Pure Sesame Oil
5 oz. Balsamic Vinegar
2 Tbsp Pure Honey
1.5 tsp Tabasco Sauce
I'm actually thinking about cutting down the oil a smidgeon. I was told that a 3:1 oil to vinegar ratio was the ideal. But to me that tastes awful, so I've been using this 1:1 ratio. Even this tastes a little too oily to me.
BTW, a little known secret to vinegar & oil dressings is that by adding honey, the oil & vinegar stay mixed for a pretty long time. Shake it up, and it will drizzle really nicely over your salad, and stay mixed through the meal.
