Wait about ten years and we'll know who was wrong and who was right. And while you are dying of autoimmune diseases we'll be the ones benefitting from our leaky gut programs.
I trust in the Flying Spaghetti Monster to bring me gut health and long life.
Because the Flying Spaghetti Monster is just as real as "leaky gut" is. And there are people who are True Believers in the Flying Spaghetti monster, so he must be real even though it's not scientifically proven and all credible sources say he's just made up, amirite?16 -

It doesn't matter that the Flying Spaghetti monster has no formal training or understanding of the gastrointestinal system. I always listen to chiropractors when i have gut issues.11 -

Conclusion:
The low-carbohydrate diet was more effective for weight loss and cardiovascular risk factor reduction than the low-fat diet. Restricting carbohydrate may be an option for persons seeking to lose weight and reduce cardiovascular risk factors.
That is absolutely not true.14 -

The NIH recommends not eating white foods?11 -

If you're talking about bloodletting, that wasn't part of mainstream medicine100 years ago. By the early 20th century, it was already understood by most to not be effective and was generally only used by fringe practitioners, the predecessors of those who today diagnose "leaky gut" and tell you to avoid any food that is white.14 -

"While low-carbohydrate diets have been suggested to partially subvert these processes by increasing energy expenditure and promoting fat loss, our meta-analysis of 32 controlled feeding studies with isocaloric substitution of carbohydrate for fat found that both energy expenditure (26 kcal/d; P <.0001) and fat loss (16 g/d; P <.0001) were greater with lower fat diets"6 -

If she is still touting the standard food pyramid to you I would change your doctor - but hey feel free to pound down that pasta all day long if you like
Funny I pound pasta as you say and my health markers are perfect. I used to eat low carb and high fat, I had horrible cholesterol numbers. I reversed them by listening to my ill informed doctor.
You do you.8
