Hi, soooo it looks like I can do premium things, and I have no ad's... Which is cool but I don't want to be charged, and I'm pretty sure I didn't sign up for it. Has anyone else got this?

To be fair, the first five were amazing.2 -
But is this a thing mfp has been known to do? Just give out premium to people?2 -
Well aren't you special2

well, yeah... it's difficult to argue with that.
I suppose that there is greater focus on quality over quantity, huh?0 -

Idk, sometimes quantity wins and I like to see how many I can bang out in under an hour.1 -

Every one of my posts is pure gold, like my post about the hidden calories in chewing gum to my posts about frozen mint peas.
Where is my premium membership?

Changing my name to BongoBongoBongo2, and see if I get premium1
-
We didnt tell you, you're the new mod. *drops stack of reports and walks out*9

I think we should start a class action on this B.S.1
-
But for a serioys response, try contacting help if you get charged and dont think you should have.1

Well, thanks to the helpful posts. Doubt me if you want, I didn't expect it. I mostly use mfp for the easy calorie counting and stay off the forums because they make me impatient about my goals or hungry. I've been a member for a few years now, and I was genuinely wondering if this was a thing. I have a screenshot.
And it says more about you than me if you're jealous of me having something I would never have bothered paying for tbh. Or, it could be that I accidentally upgraded, and I am paying for it.

Probably participated in a challenge and "won" a free premium-membership.
In the near future you will, most likely, be asked if you want to continue or cancel.
Guess what your answer should be.
BTW: I love your sarcasm0 -

Not sure if they do this on MFP, being a German user I cannot participate in MFP-challenges (For what reason ever), but they most certainly do on endomondo (another UA site), so I considered this approach to be very likely.0

Makes sense0 -
haven't participated in anything. I was only being slightly sarcastic... lol. I started on Feb 2013 so maybe it's a 5 year thing? Probably will be asked to continue after a month or so though. I searched all over and couldn't see anybody else with the same "problem" as me. Maybe I started the free trial by mistake. Ah well I came looking for some insight and I mostly got blasted. Guess I'd better start writing about lo-cal frankenfoods, keto, and ask people how much they want to pick the person above them's earwax based on lunar phases of the moon
For the couple of friendly posts, Thanks. For everyone else, I hope you hit your goals soon, so you can chill out a bit.5 -
Interesting. I've been a member 6+ years and no freebies As long as you've never given them any credit card info, I wouldn't sweat it. Even if it's a clever ploy to get you to continue the paid service they can't exactly charge you with no info0

Not really sure what you mean by this. Or has some abusive posts been deleted?
Cause I cant really see any one being rude or not chill. People posting memes and IT crowd gifs seem pretty chill to me.
Have you maybe joined a gym that offers premium as part of the package? I think i saw Anytime Fitness doing something like that. but that might have just been the map my fitness app or something

Try not to get upset. Chit chat is supposed to be a place for fun, don't take stuff too seriously. But I would love to see a thread about the bolded, I am truely interested in where that goes.

I find welcoming new memebers in the super repetitive Introduce yourself posts really ups my numbers.1 -

Might be an error, might be a free sample, might be just some dude who works there being nice. Find your subscription info and see when your premium expires.
Did you participate in beta study? Those will give you free months.1 -
Nope. I literally am the bog standard non-participator. I can't find my subscription info, I'll have another look though thanks.0
-
So, I had a better look, it says Plan: 12 months premium Price $0 Payment method: none
Awesome! Still doesn't explain how or why, but knowing that I have it for a year and havent been charged is pretty cool!0 -

There's a trick to this. I'm in Canada and it doesn't it always tells me "no challenges available." What I did is click on my other US resident MFP friends challenges and it accepts me into them.
I guess it has to do with winning contest prizes is probably why other countries are void of challenges?
