Less Alcohol - March 2018- One day at a Time

I joined February a little late so I want to start March strong. It was a typical weekend drinking wise since I allowed myself to indulge for my birthday.3

I am in. My goal is to drink no more than 2 drinks on weekend nights. AF on nights before a work day! Good luck everyone.5

I am in for a moist March! I spent the first half of February mostly dry, but I am just finishing up a 11 day vacation and we went out for dinner every night. We shared a bottle of wine or had a couple of cocktails each night. I did not overindulge; however I do not want to drink every night. My March goal is to stay AF at least 20 days and limit myself to 2 drinks or glasses of wine on the days I do drink. First mini-goal is completely AF for the next 10 days (from 2/27-3/8/18.)
Fortunately I went on vacation at the bottom of my maintenance weight range, but I will need to hit the exercise and logging hard to take off a few vacation pounds I feel like I am carrying! Being AF will definitely help.
Thank you to everyone for your support and keep up the awesome work!5 -
I’m in. Coming home tomorrow from vacation. I’ve been in New Orleans for almost a week and I have only had:
Friday - 2 oz beer at a brewery tour
Saturday - 4 oz beer at a cooking class
Sunday - 1 pint of beer at lunch at Felix’s with my red beans and rice watching the oyster shuckers at the bar.
Monday - one very generous pour of Cabernet at dinner at GW Fins.
Tonight we are going out to see Beth Hart, but like her, I choose not to be a drinker today!
Here is to another great month with all you great people!13 -
@erikNJ - you continue to inspire me. This whole group inspires me. Thanks again, @JulieAL1969 for keeping this going. I'm the person clicking "Inspiring" on all your posts, LOL!
My plan for March, like Feb., is to continue to be moderate -- I'll be AF Mon-Thurs and limit my weekend drinking to 14 "units." For me, that means 7, 6 oz. glasses of wine. I stumbled twice during Feb. (Super Bowl, for one), so really want to clean this up and stay true to my goals. I will say this -- if I'm only having 7 glasses of wine per week it's going to be some excellent wine. None of that Barefoot chardonnay crap for me (my apologies to anyone who likes it!). Even with better wine, I'm amazed at the money I'm saving from so much less drinking.8 -
I'm in. I wasn't so great with my resistance last month (February) but I plan to make it a dry March.4
-
My goals for March:
1) Stay AF, 2) keep tracking food and exercise on MFP, 3) walk 30 mins each day, and 1 - 2 mins Planks
Okay, so I wrote in down... now am going to follow through! Hoping to drop 5 lbs in March also!
You all are the best motivation! It is really nice to have a place to express yourself without judgement!5 -
March motivation-keep going with weight loss, eating right and progress with my running. I'm going to try to be AF for the month as I know I'm more likely to be able to do those things if I do. Just need to keep my head in check whilst work is being stressful and not over eat and lose heart3

I'm in for March. I will be turning 46 tomorrow and will be celebrating with a glass of wine or two at dinner, but then I plan to kick off March dry and see how long I can hang on.
Thanks again Julie for keeping this thread going and to all of you who continue to inspire and support us!7 -
I'm in too!4

Aww, thank you. And the same goes for you! All of the motivating people in this group are fantastic!5 -

I'm in for sure. My birthday is March 1st and I plan on having my first alcohol free birthday in many many moons so sad lol. So might as well turn March into dry season.9

E anche io sono “in”. At least I think that’s how to say I’m in in Italian. No telling what kind of trouble I’ll get myself into attempting to speak a bit of the language. But I do know how to say “Vorrei un’acqua minerale,” so that will prevent some potential problems.4

Hi! I'm Italian! E anch'io ci sono! Italian is a very difficult language. Vorrei un'acqua minerale is perfectly correct. But then they will probably ask you if you want it "gasata/frizzante" (sparkling) or "liscia/naturale" (still). If you go to a cafe, just remember that a "latte" in Italy means "plain milk"4 -

Good morning TEAM LESS ALCOHOL!
Just a quick peak over here before I actually leave the Feb. less alcohol thread. Looks like we have some new comers and many of the same people from Jan & Feb..
It's all about accountability with like minded souls. That is what keeps us on our path, even if there are a few bumps along that path to get there.
See you tomorrow bright and early.

What have people’s experiences been with redefining friendships? I find friends are disappointed I am not drinking if/when we go out. This is difficult because I am a “people pleaser” - but it’s time to be my more authentic self - or what I am working to become. Thoughts?4
