Walked into my daughter's house this morning and the first thing she says to me, "You look thinner today." What a great way to start out my day!30

My Phase 1 goal is to lose 15 lbs (from 170 to 155), and I am 9 pounds into that goal. I have been dealing with some serious ankle pain due to early arthritis - the pain started easing up after only losing 5 lbs. Now 9 lbs down, the swelling has also started to go down and I don't feel stiff all the time. Yay!24

I was able to do a handful of assisted pushups in my workout yesterday! Not nearly as impressive as a full pushup, but I'm making progress and that's what counts!25

Finally warm enough and well enough to get some outside rides in Iowa. Was in 50's Monday and close to 60 Tuesday. Rode from home Monday to the bike paths downtown. Was a lot of water on the trail but only encountered one snow/ice covered area and was able to walk through it okay.
Tuesday I parked near a trail and rode on the Jordan creek trail. Was quite a few wet patches and all the underpasses were full of water/ice. Was about 5 miles in and was cautiously proceeding through an underpass when the bike fell out from under me and I ended up on the ground in a deep puddle. Was near the new Bike World store that just opened last week but was too wet to go check it out. Was not hurt so was able to continue the ride. Came back through the tunnel later and a skateboarder helped me get through as even walking the bike through was treacherous. Next time will have to go up and around. Was able to get 30 miles in over the two days but had to take it slow and easy so no great speed records.17 -
Husband mentioned he noticed my stomach doesnt look as poochy and my posture is getting better. I've noticed too, but it's nice someone else is seeing what I'm seeing. Yoga and Core workouts are paying off!28

I went to put on some linen slacks that had been some of my goal pants for a nice lunch out and had to bust out laughing. They were so loose my husband said they looked like old lady pants! Guess I missed the window on wearing them for Spring!29

Just completed today's entry and it's the first time I have been given a number below 200!

Exactly one month ago I posted about being terrified to go to my first boxing class. I've been going at least once a week (most weeks twice) and tonight I got so into the work out that it registered on my Fitbit as a 'sport' for 15 minutes! I really did fall in love with it. Can't wait for next week!36

Finding a soft knit shirt I used to love to wear, taking it out of the drawer, and it fits! Wonderful feeling.22

I had to add a few holes to my belt because it's gotten too big on the last hole. I was on the 3rd when I started my journey last August!!16

I have this pair of shorts I could only get to the thighs. Now they actually fit around the waist. They are a little bit tight but not bad. Haven't eaten in bed for about a month (that is huge for me). It was when I would do my most eating.31

The bed one is a huge habit change! Fantastic, congratulations!14 -
I've been thinking about some recent victories...
I got an event shirt for work today in size men's Small and it fits perfectly. I used to wear a lot of men's XL t-shirts, or years ago even XXL with a goal of having them just cover me up as much as possible.
Someone told me today that I look taller. I think it helps that I'm a bit narrower, but I also think I'm standing up straighter and walking with better posture, both because of better muscle tone and because I feel good.
A periodontist was talking to me about what pain relievers and antibiotics I'll need when I have some work done (ugh, def not a victory), and she said, "Of course, you're a tiny person so we wouldn't give you too strong a prescription." She'd never met me before, and I'm pretty sure she's thinner than I am. Now, I'm not tiny, and my goal isn't to be tiny. I'm 5'7" and thrilled to be in medium-sized land (yay for size 8-10!) but to think I look smaller to a casual observer blows my mind.
I bought a new pair of leggings in size L. This is a NSV because I bought what I needed and thought looked good instead of playing mind games with myself about only being allowed to buy size M. These run small and women's sizes aren't standard. I like them, it's not a failure to get the pants that fit.36 -
15 years ago, I bought a leather belt with a celtic knot buckle whilst down in Tintagel in Cornwall. Since I started this journey, I've had to make several new holes to make it fit my smaller waist. This morning, the third hole - I'm now at least 3" smaller round the waist than I've been in the past 15 years.31

I lost a back roll.. totally did. I was scared it wasn't true so I made another woman at the gym check it out, then I snapped a pic because I was so excited =D65

I'm down one jeans size and down to size 14 dress from 18.39

Finally went in for a physical and had my bloodwork done. Three years ago, when I was 85 lbs heavier, I had borderline high total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol and my HDL (good) cholesterol was too low. Now my total and LDL cholesterol are well below what they should be and my HDL is significantly above where it should be. It made me very happy.42

maybe not typical, but yesterday instead of turning into the gym parking lot, i drove past it. been going hard for 7 weeks straight and yesterday i hit a slump. i felt run-down and i felt like my body was telling me to take a break. i decided to take a rest day, which may not be a NSV to some, but it was a step toward a middle ground in my usual all or nothing mindset/behavior. still feel guilty, still (sorta) dreading the gym tonight, but i know i'll get my oomph back once those endorphins start flowing.54

I made a goal for the month of February to log my food everyday, and I did it! On to March—walk at least 15 minutes everyday.33

A few months ago I bought a pair of jeans that were a few sizes too small so I could fit into them by the summer. Tried them on for fun and they fit NOW!29
