Success/struggles of the week: I had kids over for the last week, and that means more eating, and does include extra dessert pretty much every night, on top of my usual after dinner snacks. I don't really want to give those up, since i love them and pretty much looking forward to having them every night, kind of my night cap. So i had really indulging week, and my weight was towards the top of my range. But then i managed to include some exercise in, and it's all good again. My son is back for this week, so it will be more of the same. I hope for a continuation of nice weather so i can include a few rides this week, because that's pretty much what i do for exercise. I am on my feet all day long, and i usually get over 12000 steps every day, but it doesn't really elevates my heart rate. Just moving around. Still benefits me, of course. I wish everyone a great week, take care!

Success/struggles of the week:
I'm sorry for not being an active member of the group recently. I'm having a difficult time emotionally. Nevertheless, I'm still trying to keep on top of my physical health, in particular my eating habbits. (Yet, it doesn't look like I'm doing so well). The only thing that might count as a success, is that I'm managing to average 9k-11k steps per day without putting much thought in to it.
Anyway...This thread is giving me something good to focus on. And it's great to see so many of you doing so well. Gives me a positive boost for the day/week/month.

25th March:
Successes/struggles of the week: Well, I've been a "Maintainer" for roughly 7 months now, and have to say I'm over all that trepidation we all seem to feel about re-gaining. I had 12 evenings of going off the rails and eating as much as I liked. I had episodes of appearing to have escaped the consequences, and I had consequences that sent me surging past my upper limit. For approximately the last two months I have been maintaining a consistent daily deficit of about 250, and it is having the desired effect. Now that the dust has finally settled, I figure I know the score, and am comfortable with it. Nevertheless, still loving this thread and hearing about everybody else's experiences.
When I quit smoking back in 1996, it was the first time for me, but I had the benefit of hearing what happened with many others who'd quit before me. It seemed to me that many an effort ended with "I think probably one cigarette would be OK!" So, I was very clear on that one particular point, and resolved never to fall for that, and never did. Yes we can learn from the experience of others - we don't always have to learn things the hard way! And I think it was looking at this thread that really made me actually BELIEVE it was possible to maintain a large weight loss - so many posts from Maintainers at lovely weights, week after week, month after month, after significant losses. Funny how much more magical our progress is when we have come to actually believe something is possible. So thanks peeps!

Just 1.5 pounds loss needed to get back to maintenance. I had a long plateau of about 3 weeks.
Lacking exercise though. going for a walk now.

I can't eat 1600 average without gaining. I think my average is around 1400- 1450 for maintenance.
For me that usual means some 1200-1300 days and a couple of treats in the week.4 -

Successes/Struggles: success in the awfully nice and supportive folks here who helped me through a bad couple days, thanks very much. Had a birthday and am paying for my indulgent weekend - especially the minimal exercise as I was very sore on Sunday. Did a nice extra long swim session today and that helped loosen up some very tight muscles yay.

Success/struggles of the week: Forgot to post on Monday! Thanks to all for your insightful comments and details about your maintenance experience. It really helps me to read what others are doing to maintain. I'm not too happy with myself this week: low energy, not enough exercise, too much junk food. Fortunately, it is Wednesday -- so I have the rest of the week to exercise and eat well.9 -

Success/struggles of the week: I have not weighted myself in March yet. I fell off the bandwagon last month and ate a lot of unhealthy meals. I've since gotten back on so I'll share an update next week. My biggest struggle was finding the motivation I had when I lost the bulk of my weight. It's coming back slowly but surely.10 -
Name: Faebert
Age: 39
Height: 5’6
Total Weight lost: 47lbs
Time it took to lose: on and off 3 years. First 30 in 4 months and then gradually reduced goal weight
How long in maintenance: 10 months
Maintenance weight range: 115-120
Average weight recorded from 2017 (12months): 121
Average weight recorded from February: 116.25
Week of 2nd March: 117
Week of 9th March: 116
Week of 16th March: 114.5
Week of 23rd March: 115
Successes/struggles of the week: A pretty good week. Snow has melted, step count is looking decent for the week and managed to eat sensibly. Think last week I was probably pretty dehydrated hence the low weigh-in. Happy to be back in range but at the lower end! Slightly anxious about upcoming easter break from work (teacher) as i know my steps will drop. I’m going to try and offset this with more varied classes during times I would normally be at work (as long as I can get some childcare).
Oh, and avoid the Easter eggs!7 -

Age: 46
Height: 5'2.5"

Jan-Jun 2017 avg weight trend: 124.4lbs
Jul-Dec 2017 avg weight trend: 119.2lbs
January avg weight trend: 118lbs
February avg weight trend: 117.9lbs
Trend week of...
23rd February: 118.2
2nd March: 117.8lbs
9th March: 118lbs
16th March: 117.6lbs
23rd March: 117.8lbs
Successes of the week: Good work week. Good menu choices, although over on portions a few days. Have an in-service day today. Up early getting in steps. Need to stay strong at the buffet table!
Challenges of the week: Again, did not hit all my strength exercises, but I think I did enough. Attitude of gratitude has been lacking, so that food-wise enough is never enough. Not managing time well, and sleep has suffered.
Tough couple of weeks coming at school during testing season. We'll see how I handle it!
9 -
Stayed strong as far as the buffet. Skipped the lasagna and bread sticks and just added my Dijon vinaigrette and chicken to a salad. Tried one bite of brownie, but wasn't as good as my cashew coconut dark chocolate yogurt. Also skipped the croissanwiches at breakfast, along w blueberry and oatmeal bars. However, I did overdo on my own food and ate more pb yogurt than I needed today. (This happens all the time. I skip unplanned menu items, but still go over with my "safe" food. Like extra cals aren't extra cals? Go figure!!)7

@CoachJen71, my attention locked-in on your reference to your "cashew coconut dark chocolate yogurt"... is that something you buy or something you make? I've made plain yogurt; can you tell me how to transform it into, gulp, cashew coconut dark chocolate yogurt? I live in hope!4

I love Whoopie pies. I’m live near Amish country it’s so hard to stay away from all the good food. Shoo fly pie is another weakness. Time to stop thinking of it.2 -
@Rachelmilloy Sure! I do a lot of nut butter and Nutella yogurts. They are more like frosting than yogurt, tho, and I keep them tiny to save cals.
I get the dannon light n fit greek yogurts. I use coconut for chocolate ones (or for coconut almond butter straight up,) and banana, vanilla, or toasted marshmallow for peanut butter ones.
FYI, I am losing my sense of smell and taste thanks to allergies, so tweak these to your own taste.
In a microwave safe custard dish put
15g Truvia
1/4 tsp water
It will barely look wet, but trust me it will be liquid in a minute. Microwave 2 times at 30 sec each. (The Truvia should be completely dissolved, or it will make the mix grainy. If you like brownie batter, then grainy can be nice, but it you want frosting or mousse, dissolve it completely.)
Whisk in
5g cashew butter
10g I can't believe it's not butter light
Dash of no salt, unless you are potassium sensitive.
Add in 75g of coconut yogurt and blend. When smooth add in and whisk 10g Hershey's special dark cocoa powder.
Seal the dish and refrigerate overnight, or put into a tiny Tupperware bowl and leave it in the freezer for an hour or two.
To make the peanut butter version, pick a yogurt flavor, replace the cashew butter with 10g peanut butter, 10g pb2, and only 5g of light margarine. Increase water to half a teaspoon. As with the cocoa powder, add the pb2 after the yogurt. (Adding before yogurt makes chunks that will never break up and stir in.)
Sometimes the sweet mix hardens when the yogurt stirs in, and you get little bits of taffy or butter brickle. It's not bad that way, just not as smooth.
I also have a pb2 oatmeal recipe that is basically a hot no bake cookie, if you are interested.3 -

Challenges : Was really close to maintenance (1.5 lbs. away) early in the week, at around 54.7 k; and then (maybe overconfident or self-sabotaging, I don't know) i totally stopped tracking and trying, so w is back up.
I haven't tracked for 2 weeks.
I'm lacking exercise.
I didn't bring enough for lunch.
For the most part, my work places don't have lunch options. I brought too light a lunch. (for example grabbed 200g of smoked tofu and a celery stalk for a no-prep lunch as I went out the door. Then I supplemented with vending machine options: potato chips, a candy bar, or coffee machine mocha or hot chocolate, to get me through the day - or take out asian food on the way home.
I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I really need to prepare copious volume healthy meal to get me through the day, especially since I'm allergic to gluten.
Successes: a couple of morning walks, and a some necessary work and city walking.
Hopefully next week will be better. Arggh11 -
