Beginning Keto!

I have been doing calorie restriction, IF and weightlifting 5x/week since November. I am working towards getting down to 125lb. I started at 153 and am currently bouncing between 134/138lbs.
My aunt has been doing Keto and has been having really great results. I decided to give it a shot and started yesterday... My first impressions are I definitely feel more satiated! However, I’m slightly terrified this some how isn’t going to work and I’m going to put on a bunch of weight before my Hawaii trip next month!!
Anyone doing Keto have any thoughts/recommendations/advice for a beginner?? How was the first couple weeks??

To be honest I don't know much because I just started the keto diet yesterday. But I no somebody who is on it and they told me that its hard for the first 2 weeks no really swing much results but after 2 weeks or so... Your body goes into the state of ketosis and starts to burn off the fat. So I'm all in and hoping for the best. Let me know how it works out for you!!4

I am slowly transitioning this week, and I am terrified as well! The thought of eating fat doesn’t seem like it would work but I have seen lots of great success stories so it’s gotta work right! Good luck3

@MissPNW as far as myfitnesspal Keto help the above is the one I have used heavily since 2014. Best of success.3 -
There is no reason it wouldn't work if you're keeping track of your calories correctly. You won't be putting on a bunch of weight unless you overeat. Give it a try for a while and see how you like it.1

Hi. Been on keto for several weeks. I really like and the more I read about medical benefits the more it makes sense. Forget tracking initially. Enjoy the good fats and eliminate carbs. The high fat takes away the carb cravings.5

This is not the best advice for someone who can overeat on low carb. Keto is not for me, personally, because I tend to overeat on it while feeling like I'm not overeating because portions are generally smaller than what I'm used to. For the 3 weeks I tried it, I gained weight. I didn't want to restrict calories while I acclimated, so I set them to maintenance. I managed to go over maintenance almost every single day with hunger to spare.
Finding an enjoyable and sustainable way of eating is important, and low carb is that way for some people. Without tracking you wouldn't know if it is a sustainable way to cut calories until you've gained or failed to lose. Not tracking may lead to the opposite problem for those who are too satisfied on keto. They could end up undereating, and that's as bad as overeating. The opposite of what you suggested would be the safest choice. If you are eating well and find your intake ends up around an appropriate calorie level at the end of the day most days, then loosening up the tracking or stopping it completely can be an option for those who feel confident in their established eating pattern.6
