I am Doug and I have been soda sober for about 3 hours. Wish me luck:)8

Over 4 years. Started with a day counter, now have no desire. Don’t want any addictions.10

I quit sodas for about a month, but then I fell prey to caffeine-free Coke zero. If I close my eyes and pretend I can't smell anything I can almost pretend I'm drinking normal Coke, until my brain realizes that there are no calories and punishes me with a minor headache.8

I quit drinking diet coke because I did not want any addictions...and trust me I was addicted! I know this may be hard for some to believe, but I actually had severe headaches and even felt sick to my stomach every time I tried to stop. Maybe I am just more sensitive to caffeine than others, but the withdrawal was so bad. I sympathize with anyone who has to go through that! I see a lot of people on here do not think caffeine withdrawal is a thing...I am here to tell you it IS a thing lol!9

I get a three day headache when I quit caffeine. I haven't seen anyone on these boards argue against giving up caffeine as a source of withdrawal symptoms.7 -

No *kitten* Sherlock.
If someone tried to make me stop drinking coffee, I'd be up on a murder charge. Doesn't impact my weight loss at all, but I drink it black.9 -
I was in the hospital last year with a very scary infection, on strong antibiotics and morphine for pain. I also needed to have surgery so was not allowed any food or drink like coffee. Even on morphine, I had a caffeine headache that was only alleviated by a cup of coffee after my surgery. LOL2

I gave up soda in June of 2017. I haven't had any since. Water, unsweet tea or flavored water. That's it. The last time had a sip of soda it burned my nose because of the carbonation and tasted terrible.7
