Just so you know, there are a lot of guys out there that want to get onto snapchat with you. Don't fall for it. They just eventually want to surprise you with an inappropriate DISGUSTING picture of themselves. I fell for it, but never again.

Then again, there are a lot of guys who don't. Please don't judge all of us by the actions of some.38

It's not that all men do it, it's that enough do it that for many women it's not worth the risk.10

My first thought here was that "isn't that common knowledge by now", and then I realized how incredibly disgusting it is that that was my first thought..23

Are you talking about guys who are here on this community? If so, report them to administrators.glacierlilly1 wrote: »Just so you know, there are a lot of guys out there that want to get onto snapchat with you. Don't fall for it. Learned that lesson in college. Sorry you had to deal with that.HarryFMudd wrote: »Then again, there are a lot of guys who don't. Please don't judge all of us by the actions of some.

"not all men" is a garbage response.
OP, I'm sorry you had to deal with a trash human. I know too many other women who have had that experience, including myself. It's upsetting and disturbing and you should definitely report them to admin if it was someone from this website. Definitely block them from contacting you again.
As a general rule, I don't hand out any social media info to people I don't know personally (and even then I've still gotten pictures like that).18 -
I’ll keep that in mind if a guy ever tries to Snapchat me. I’ll be prepared!16

I disagree. Lumping any group of people into having one common negative trait is the real garbage thing to do.32 -

Im with you.
Also men are human. Theres good and bad in everyone, Yes alot of men do seem to lose their minds from time to time but so do women. If your going to be lumping an entire gender in maybe look in the mirror. We all have our bad.
Though ya alot of men online do seem to hide behind their computer screen and get quite pervy. Its unfortunate for sure, But thats not ALL men.9 -

Easy, just stay out of the Chit-chat threads. And it is pretty crappy to lump all men into one group saying they're all bad. Most of my friends are guys and they are gentlemen, not stalker weirdos.8

I have only accepted one friend from here on Snapchat and it has been a positive experience. No nasty pictures or anything like that. I'm sorry you had that experience. But not all men are like that. Some people are encouraging and uplifting.7

Warning to males:
Just so you there are women on here that will send “nude” pictures of themselves, how disgusting! I fell for it over and over and over and over and over again.15 -
I'm more terrified of the fish-faced selfies.12

@OP : Sorry that this has been your experience on the social media. It sucks but these things will happen. Doesn't have much to do with the gender, perhaps more to do with the "opposite" gender. Regardless, just block them and move on. There are plenty of lovely people on the internet who you will cherish as close friends. You might have to go through some disgusting people to find them though.

I have sons, a husband, brothers, friends, colleagues, peers. cousins, grandson. My father, my uncles, my grandfather, all of whom I love and respect and value. They are people and individuals and to view them all as just their gender is disgusting. I will put my empowered female *kitten* firmly in the way of other women who are prejudiced and hateful against men. Lumping ANY group of people together by the actions of a few, is defined as prejudice. Holding negative prejudices is defined as 'bigotry'. And it is 'ist'. Sexist, racist, etc. Insert any other demographic into your statements, and maybe you will see just how 'ist' you are.
Try substituting races, religions, genders until you can see exactly how ugly and prejudiced you are.- "(X religion) are still trash'.
- 'Plenty of (skin color A) do it so beware'.
- Enough of (middle eastern people) do XYZ, so its not worth the risk'
YOU ARE ISTS and you should be ashamed of your bigotry.
Gender is not a common denominator any more than religion is or skin color; there are weird and disgusting people of both sexes. Plenty of them proving that in this thread.13 -

Hey fit sis! Did you report it when it happened? I don't utilize snap chat, so I'm unaware of the security/privacy settings! To be fair, women can be just as bad though, I've seen it on here, and on other SM apps. We just have to be pro-active with whom/ what we associate ourselves with, that's all. Do you your homework, I personally wouldn't add someone on snap who I didn't even know, on here, it's a bit different ..but you can usually tell an individual's agenda (man or woman) from the get go( Bodyspace is a perfect example), and if not when it does truely reveal itself, and It's inappropriate, report and put him/her on blast! Sign of the times, gotta be proactive!!2 -
Sadly happens in pretty much every type of group. Especially when they have an active singles component like MFP does.
Some people are immature idiots. That's why I don't usually bother with PMs to people I don't already know fairly well, and I don't even have Snapchat. On the rare occasion that I do get into a private chat, I go through MFP's messages to avoid that kind of thing, and make it easier to report if things go badly.
I remember being seriously hurt and angry as a young, naive, college freshman when some guy pretended to be interested in me, and called just to do his thing over the phone (this was before cell phones were really a thing, LONG before Iphones). It's never ok, and never will be to treat people like that without full understanding and consent on both sides. But it IS a fact that some people are creeps, and no amount of laws or social awareness programs will stop it completly. So it's as much on you to learn how they work, in order to protect yourself from unwanted garbage5 -
Pretty sure I don't need a warning for this as I'm a grown woman.17

So it's not Kik anymore? Man, I need to get back in the game.4 -
Wow you guys are mixed bag of responses. I mistook someone's intentions from another social site not MFP and was shocked when I opened my phone - this was a first for me. They lady who says she's a grown woman - very cute...and immature. Anyone who wants to take the warning from me - take it. If you don't need or want my warning, then don't take it. For those women out there sending nudes - it is people like you who perpetuate this type of behavior. I don't ever need to bring someone over on my snap again, period. There are predators and just plain crude and sick people out there. For those of you who were offended by my post - my intention was not to offend, but instead to provide help. They want to get you on another app so that they don't get reported on the apps they need to use where there could be proof and they could lose their privilege. Lesson learned. Over and out.14

Immature? How so? I am 32. Not naive anymore.5 -

me too! It's a shame but as soon as a guy starts requesting pics or whatever I delete them. The guys I have on my feed now are focused on health, exercise and weight loss/gain.
Just delete at the first hint of inappropriateness.2 -
Thankfully, I've never had that experience, and I hope I never will. Sorry you had to go through that. I really don't understand what goes in these people's minds. They surely know that it almost never ends well. Is it a form of trolling? Control? Why do people do this?2

I've quit trying to figure out why some people do what they do with technology. Surely it must have some motivation for them, why I will never know. But in this day and age it seems easy for people to play their games, and even those wary of such things might get fooled now and then. But then again, some people can be just as fake in real life.
Nothing wrong with the OP posting a warning for those that haven't experienced it. But the responses seem to indicate that the creepy/weird/inappropriate actions of a few will cause them to lump large groups together. It's just as sad that those people are likely to miss out on the real and fun people within that group.2
