How many calories do you eat a day?

My fitness pal suggests I eat 1400 calories per day to lose 1/2 lb a week. I am super strict on measuring and use a scale for everything. After one month, I have lost 1 lb. I am always hungry too. Pretty discouraging.
Being hungry all the time definitley doesn't sound like something's right. Do you know what keeps you full longer? (Like fat and protein?) If so, I would eat more fillimg foods and try to knock out foods that don't give you energy all that much. Helped with me a lot.4 -
22000

3000-3500 (a surplus to support strength training)0

I know. I try to eat more protein and fiber rich foods. I try to eat eggs in the morning most days . I'm not a big meat eater although I do eat it most days. The number of calories is just hard to be full on for me.1 -
I'm eating 1,500 -2,000 depending on how active I've been during the day.0

I'm in 1000-1200 per day range, and sometimes have a hard time eating even that much. I'm 65 and only 4'11" and am able to do only light exercise 5x week due to health issues. I've been gently losing weight over the past several years, down from 180+ to 131 today with a few pounds to go.8

Usually around 1200. Losing about 2lbs/week.pretty active also6

2200-2400 for maintenance0

I shoot for 1600 on the two days I don't work out, I eat a little more on the five days I do work out. I'm losing the 10lbs I gained after having surgery, plus adding five more so 15 total but I'm not being overly aggressive about it and it's working just fine for me.1

I weigh everything religiously to try to get up to the recommended 1200 but find it so hard and dont get there most days. Medication im taking makes me not like much food and i dont get hungry. I still have around 15kg to loose so I'm ok until then but am going to have to try a bit harder after that2

This answer varies so much from person to person so I'm not sure how helpful post is...
but for me, I maintain on 1950-2000 cals, I'm 5ft 2, 125lbs and 48.1 -

My TDEE is 2400 - 2500 calories, currently averaging around 1850 calories (1400-2000 depending on the day and how hungry I am) and losing about 1 - 1.25 pounds a week. I'm 5'5", 179lbs and 35.0

1420 cals/day and aiming to lose 1lb. per week. I'm a 5'3" female.1

I'm curious what, if anything, people are getting from this thread? Aside from the post-count increase.5

I eat about 2200-2300 a day, which is maintenance for me. I'm 5'8" 120-125 lbs with a sedentary job but am somewhat active with cardio and strength training.1

5'1" and 139lbs. Losing on 2070 while breastfeeding an almost one year old. Not sure what my maintenance calories are, but they're likely more.0

How do you know that? I cut at about 1200, being pretty active as well. Some of us who are smaller in height and weight actually maintain at around 1500, so being in the 1200 range is necessary for some people to lose weight.9 -

How small in height and weight? If you are active, I wouldn’t think your TDEE would be 1500. I’m 5’2 and 118 and my maintenance cals are around 2200 with moderate activity.2 -

1450 net. This works out to an average daily intake of about 1700-1800 (sometimes less, sometimes more, depending on my activity level) to lose about 1 pound a week.0
