I'm 62. That sounds like a good plan. I lost around 50 pounds at 59-60, and have been maintaining at a healthy weight since, using MFP. It can work!

Follow the MFP program faithfully and you'll lose. I'm 71 and have lost 40 lbs in 9 months. If you want more calories earn them with exercise. Want to have fun??? Lose about 20lbs and start trying on smaller clothes, very motivating. Wish I'd had this app years ago.13

Does 54 count if I’m in a wheelchair? I just started Happy Keto Body. Really excited because I know the benefits of a ketogenic diet when it come to MS.8

@workinonit1956 you are my hero! Did you have weeks where you stayed on track but didn’t lose? I’m 60 and staying on track, but wow it’s taking me a long time ..I’m “supposed” to be set up to lose 1 lb a week, with my calories ..I’m only losing .5 average. So for the month of April I’m down 2, not sure why I’m not losing a tad bit more3

Sure. There's lots of seasoned citizens here. I'm 63. I've lost about 45 pounds so far in a year. Another 20 or 30 to go. Add me as a friend if you like. I log in here everyday. Happy to provide encouragement and support.

I’m 60 and have been overweight since I left the Air Force. I need to lose 80 pounds. My dietician recommended using MFP.
Since 3 April, I’ve lost 6 pounds. I track everything! Unfortunately I’m unable to exercise at this time.3 -
Well into retirement and need to lose a lot. Started and stopped logging, but logging seems to be the key for me. I simply stop eating once I reach the allotted calories for the day. Counting 10 pounds at a time. The block for me seems to be lack of activity, but with nice weather here, I plan to be more active. This is my first week this time around.2

I was 65yo five years ago @ 376 Lbs!
WW Plan for eating and aqua aerobics & swimming for exercise. After three years I lost 116 and wanted to lose 80# to get below 200.
For 2016/2017 my goal was a pound a week for 52 weeks. Lost 37 then 43.
Made my Goal Weight 184 in March. Current Weight 181. Lost 195.
Was it hard yes, was it slow yes, was it worth it YES!5 -
I am in that demographic as well. Down 40+ since joining MFP almost 3 years ago. Been maintaining for about a year and I'm now starting to try and whittle a little more fat off my carcass. I'll be going by pants size not the scale.2

I'm 59 and would like to lose 30 or 35. You seasoned "losers" are amazing and very motivating. I've been a member for several years but never was consistent with my logging (or exactly truthful) . I have a different (read that as "better") mindset now but I am still learning. Continued success to you all and good luck to the ones just starting their journey! May we all aim high and reach the sky ...and our goals!3

61 here, lost the 20 I needed to (Again! And for the last time!) between October '17 and March '18, brand new to maintenance but just held my own on a 2 week vacation with no scale.
Slow is super smart because then you just ease into maintenance with some habits that work longer term -- I HOPE! I am still logging and will for the foreseeable future.

I’m 65,started weighing 203’last weigh I Inweighed 195, but it keep fluctuating from 200. I have been trying to lose the weight fast,but by reading everyone’s post , I realize slow and steady will win the race2

67 here. I successfully lost a little over 70 pounds a few years ago utilizing MFP. Then I lapsed and regained about 75% of the weight back. Now I am back on track again. This time around is not as easy as the first. I am finding out that drinking water, and lots of it, is very key in losing the weight slow and steady. This time the weight will stay off as I am liking the way I feel.6

I’m 64 and new at this. Need to lose 110 lbs more. Lost 27lbs so far but have a long way to go! Could use help from the 60’s folks!!7

I'm 68. Two years ago, I decided to get serious and start logging here. I've lost 87 lbs and still have 30+ to go. I think it helps to decide you're going to never stick your head in the sand again. I've logged every day, even when I've been kind of goofing off and not losing weight, sometimes for months at a time.6

I'm 68 and still hanging in there, although not concerned about my weight, I'm working on improving my aerobic fitness with a goal of getting off of BP meds again.2

I am 59 and just joined less than two weeks ago. I have 100 lbs to loose. I have lost close to 30 so far. Trying to eat healthy, in small portions, low sugars as I am also diabetic. This is all new to me but I am determined to do this. Could use friends and motivation.2

I just turned 60 this year and I have been doing MFP for only less than a week. My goal is to lose around 10-15 pounds in the next couple of months. I like the fact that MFP can "predict" how soon I will able to reach my goal. I also watch my carbs (that's one of the main reason I started to use MFP).0

I'm 59..... that's close.
I joined April 2017 and have lost 111 lbs so far, about another 20lbs to go.
Logging everyday and staying as active as two bad knees allo is the key for me.
