Do you log every day?

I logged like it was a religion in 2015-16 while losing, even when I had to estimate (potlucks, dinner at others' homes, some restaurants).
Going into year 3 of maintenance, I still log most days, but will skip one or two if they're very complicated (back at the potlucks and such!). Most of my unlogged days are over-goal days, but I have a fairly good experiential estimate of the maximum number of calories I can eat in a day, so I assume that.
I tried not logging for a couple of weeks, and didn't like it. For one, I tended to over-eat more often; but more importantly to me, I worried about whether I was hitting my protein goal. As an ovo-lacto vegetarian who doesn't eat fake meat, it's hard to track the amount intuitively, as it's spread over many varying foods every day. (I don't eat the same things over and over. There are some general themes, but details differ.)
I never pre-log a whole day: It's completely alien to my nature. I occasionally prelog a meal or a couple of foods, just to see experimentally what I can fit in.
I don't find any of it obsessive or burdensome, but I'm a data geek in other aspects of my life as well.
(Edited because I hit "post reply" too soon by accident)
I like the way you do things. I hope to one day be able to be like that where I log just because I like the Data. I am a data nerd as well. This might sound creepy, but oh well, nice rear delt definition!1 -

Thanks! :flowerforyou:
Not creepy: I'm old enough to be your granny (62).

I log every day. At least for the morning. When I jump off the rails I pretty much quit logging. Last Saturday was such a day. Then Sunday I tried to recall everything. I logged 2000 calories over my goal, then remembered another cold dog that isn't on the list. Screw it.4

I log daily and have for almost 6 years. It's pretty easy with the app. And I also pre-log b/c I eat pretty much the same breakfast and lunch daily. I do my best to log when meals like dinner or other lunches are at restaurants or people's houses, but if I can't, I just skip it. I have no problem logging daily even tho' I could probably be just fine not doing so. However, I don't want to mess with success. It works for me. Now, if it were pencil and paper logging ... well, that would be a different thing!0

i log every day except when we go out of country on holiday. at home i can weigh things out to my heart's content obviously but don't do it on vacation. it's helped me be mindful of what i'm putting in my cakehole0

Since moving to maintenance, I only log during the week. I do go a little crazy on the weekends but I don't eat back my exercise calories all week so I build up a surplus of 300-400 each day. This gives me something like 1500-2000 calories to indulge with on Saturday and Sunday. Sometimes I kick myself when I think of how much more I could lose but I am not gaining, have good energy levels, am happy with how I look and how my clothes fit, and still get to enjoy the foods I want to so it's a good compromise that is working so far. If I start gaining or my clothes stop fitting, I'll go back to full time logging.5

I log every day except for vacation and holidays. There are also some things I don't bother logging. It's sort of a lazy logging approach that makes it easy for me to keep up with the habit of logging so that it's not onerous for me.2

I have been at my maintenance weight for about 6 months and have not been logging. I do, however, get on the scale once a week to make sure I'm not going up and I calibrate from there, eating more salads and less eating out if I've gained a lb or two. It has worked for me. I'm certainly not opposed to logging again if needed to get things back in check.0

Yes! I do log every day. I was on a diffrent program but sometimes you just need a change to much drama! I stared in March of this year and everyday I loged in becasuse of it I now understand what I have been doing wrong and what I need to change. Sad to say I have been just "Maintaining my Weight" OuOooo! Now I understand that I have to burn calories 3 to 7times more if I want to shed the fat off my body. So I have Added 1 to 5mile walks, some my room with the tv on "Walk 5miles" and Some outside with the Moon and Stars. I also do Arobics 3hours a day during the day, Morning, afternoon and lat afternoon. This has helped, I am down 67lbs. since January.
My diet is about cabbage soups, fruit soups, veggies, fruits, roots, plants, grains stuff like this. I'm on a biblical-diet-plan,18 for me it has really helped but I was 327lbs in January~ I'm now 260 today!0 -
If I do not log everyday I will miss something and then I have added calories I may forget about.0

Yes, I still log every day. If my weight is stable I may not weigh everything but I keep track by servings. After 2 years I have a pretty good idea of serving sizes. If my weight goes up the scale is used for everything until I get it under control. So far I have stayed in my weight range for maintenance.4

I keep a log at home, not on MFP. Whatever works, right?1
