Oh I saw that one yesterday! I got a headache from rolling my eyes so hard.
edit: it involves "obesogens". They're all over your house! Run!7 -
Wonderful. I shall be sure to log the dust I've been ingesting5

Why am I not already skinny?3
-
I lose weight taking off my shoes every time I get weighed at the doctor's office...9
-
Oh, dear Lord! Obesogens?0

People are always looking for someone/something to blame for their situation other than themselves.
It's not my fault I'm overweight...it's the "obesogens"....or the "hidden" sugar in all the foods we eat....or the evil chemikills that you can't avoid...or the family and friends that don't support you...or the coworker that brings donuts every day. Anyone's fault but yours.
Articles like this just feed into that mentality.7 -
I wish. I never wear shoes in the house.6

Well, to be fair, just taking your shoes off doesn't solve the problem - you also have to eat completely organic and never introduce chemical cleaners into your house and clean like a fanatic (with natural cleaners of course).
I did think when I saw the article's headline that they were going to say you absorb contaminants through the soles of your feet, but thankfully that didn't come up.1 -

Ah yes, explains all of my problems with obesity. :-)1 -
Didn't click the link, but this sounds like some Mercola-level woo.0

I'd love to vacuum often.
But I'm too busy going to the gym and workout out. Oh.. and actually getting skinny.0 -

By the way, here's the last paragraph of the article:
Commenting on the study Dr Peter Jenkinson, Toxicologist and Managing Director, Consultancy for Environmental & Human Toxicology and Risk Assessment (CEHTRA) France and UK, added: “Some of the recommendations given are sensible but not for reasons of obesity avoidance. Choosing local products, for example, can reduce carbon emissions.
“There is no evidence given in this abstract that indicates that adopting any of these recommendations will actually reduce obesity."4 -
Aren't obesogens found mostly on forks and spoons? The less often these are inserted into your mouth, the thinner you will become... due to lower exposure to the obesogens.21

that does seem like a natural next step. They already have those weird "foot detox" things on QVC that change color when you soak your feet with them, so you can see all the "toxins" coming out.0 -
“There is no evidence given in this abstract that indicates that adopting any of these recommendations will actually reduce obesity.”
And that, folks, was the last line in the article.7 -
Almost as much credibility as chicken nuggets making people gay.4

I saw an article or something where it said to reduce your weight 'remove your shoes when you come in the house' and I couldn't for the life of me work out why or where it came from now I know. I have no words. Just eat less then you burn. Boom weightloss!0

You can totally get thin by taking off your shoes. The problem as I see it, is that you gain back the weight when you take the shoes back on again.
It's a vicious cycle.3 -

Not gonna lie that's genuinely what I thought it meant at first like weighing with your shoes off means you're lighter *facepalm*0 -
Funny, I grew up on a farm. With many pets. And despite my mother's efforts, us kids did more than a little tracking in of dirt, crap (literally), etc into the house and rugs. Never had a problem with my weight though......0

Maybe all the non-GMO local foods you were eating on the farm detoxed the obesigens right out of your system.4
