So I didn't do any exercising this last long weekend (Victoria Day), and i didn't count calories. I let loose and just had fun. There may have been pizza and cupcakes, chips and snacks, ice cream and beer. Oh so very much beer. I stepped on the scale today, and oh my!!! I knew I had done damage, but 7 lbs?!?! Is that even really possible?? I am so disappointed in myself. And also somewhat discouraged. It has taken so much patience, will power and work to get where I am. I was close to 250 a few months ago, and just before the weekend I thought I was a week or two within being in ONEderland (under 200 lbs) and now..... sigh.... Can one bad weekend really set you that far back?

Water weight. Most of it will be water weight and it will come off over the next week or so.

Just get back to your normal life calorie tracking and it will whoosh away in a few days to a week. I went on vacation for a week and came back up almost 15lbs and within a week and a half it was all gone--and I ate pretty much anything and everything I wanted. When I got back from vacation, I just went right back to my normal tracking and all was right in the world again!

mst of its water weight. will fall off within the next week or so

otherwise, glad you had fun! get back on track!

one day, or even one weekend, does not make or break long term success.

keep in mind that restaurant food is high in sodium. alcohol leads to water retention too

For further evidence, you might find this thread fun:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10603949/big-overfeed-ruins-everything-nope

tl;dr: Detailed case study of eating several thousand calories above maintenance over a weekend, and being back at 128 pounds in less than a week, with no extreme deficits or exercise required to get there.

Just don't do it very often. ;)
