Lost 70lbs! Now I need to TONE.

I began my journey June 2016. By February 2017 I lost 70lbs. I've kept it off till now with the occasional couple lbs fluctuating. Not interested in bulking but I do want to tone/build muscle in my problem areas ( arms, thighs, tummy ). I do core work, resistance bands and dumb bell workouts at home. I also jog/fast walk 2x a week.
Any tips as to how I can tone these thunder thighs and arms? Thanks so much.

Hello, congrats on the loss! As for your question I think you should check out the fitness and exercise forums and read up on recomp. Good luck!2

Great article which will answer a lot of your questions here: https://www.aworkoutroutine.com/toning-workout-for-women/
(Read the whole thing - there's a lot of tongue in cheek in the beginning!)5 -
Well done!!! I could have written your post myself. I’m toying with beginning recomp. I’ve lost 62lb and my arms were slow to get the memo, as were my thighs. I won’t even mention my stomach. I still want to lose another 12lbs to hit goal. Good luck and let us know how you get on! Xx1

Also, the idea that "toning" is a separate and specific thing is not true. When you think of "toning", really it means you're building muscle and cutting fat-generally at the same time.
So if thighs, stomach and arms are still somewhat flabby or have a layer of fat, that means that not only do you want to do muscle building exercises for that, you still have more fat to lose, despite a very impressive 70lbs lost so far.
Don't worry about muscle building resulting in being bulky, or huge.. that's not going to happen unless you specifically train for it and try to get that way.2 -
Slightly tongue in cheek here: "Toning" is what people who are scared of bodybuilding call strength training. If you want to be "toned", strength training (ideally weight training) is your best bet for quickest progress.
Women don't grow massive muscles overnight. You'll have plenty of time to monitor your appearance and decide when you've reached a look you like. We don't wake up one day with surprise bulging muscles.
IMO, this thread would be perfect for you:
